Sequels were milked for all they were worth and very few of them were better than the originals.
Prequels, for the most part, are about as bad. (I thought the one that was based on the Prime Suspect TV series was dreadful. Equally as bad was PS’s adaptation which put it into an American setting. Fortunately, that series didn’t last long.
The only prequel TV series in that genre, in my mind, is Better Call Saul on AMC. It has the same writers as Breaking Bad and it’s equally as good.
When all else fails, why not “re-boot” a TV series? Not so fast. I’m sure we can think of numerous examples of that being a bad idea.
Now there are all those scandals, the one concerning Kevin Spacey being the latest. How long before the whole mess runs aground?
