Yeah. That’ll work.

About as well as the ban on biological and chemical weapons, the nuclear non-proliferation treaties, land-mines, etc.
A weapon is a weapon and it will be exploited and used, every single time. Personally I have more concern about nano-bot swarms than robots.

  1. Yeah … the only RED LINE Musk has ever drawn … is under the profitability of his crony-Socialist corporations.

  2. Of course Musk is for banning all AI in the battlefield.
The increased competition for already rare raw minerals needed for his severely overpriced EV’s would be potentially catastrophic for the company that government built him.
Also, just like the misguided attempts at banning guns in the USA, it would ensure only the bad guys have the most deadly weapons. That suicidal strategy always seems to please self-hating, social leftards.

  3. The highlight of the story has to be where Musk says “a rare case where I think we need to be proactive in regulation instead of reactive.”
First, I call BS x 100000. At no point has Musk ever done anything that would make me think he’s against ‘proactive regulation’.
Secondly, here’s an idea genius: let’s abandon the notion that the automatic solution to any “problem” that might randomly pop into your head is regulation of any sort.

  4. pffft. pandora’s box dun got popped open 50,000 years ago when Glug clobbered Blif with a club that had a rock tied to the end to get more smashing power.
and this ‘ban’, well, moi was watching a cold war documentary 2 nites ago that spelled out how the communist liars and sociopaths barged ahead with an ultra secret biological weapons program as big as their nuke program, *right after* the ban on bio weapons between the naive Carter and the brezhnev, the last biggest tyrant and liar of the previous century.
