Great artist. I hope we live to see the day that he can perform freely in the U.S. without fear for his life.
Meanwhile, I enjoyed the Resurrection service at our church this morning. Was wondering if it is more likely for a) a dead body to come back to life after three days or b) humans to come to life from nothingness over millions of years. I’ll admit neither is possible without God, so I’ll go with a).
“Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”” John 20:19
A song for the few rainy days that are in the forecast!
And when you really think about it, that what it’s supposed to do in April!!

Happened across this posting and was surprised when the name “Michael Ignatieff” appeared.
Ignatieff is the headmaster of George Soros’ Central European University in Hungary.
This is the same university the Hungarian parliament is attempting to shut down.
Heh. Captcha was “STOP” “COLEGIO”.

“The EU is dead in the water.
Everywhere one looks, whether it is the US turning on its foes or the EU ignoring them, a crisis is at hand.
The Turkish setbacks comes after a fortnight of confrontation with Assad in Syria and Kim Jong Un in North Korea. These are more beginnings than endings. Despite Assad losing 1/5 of his airforce the civil war in Syria still rages unabated and North Korea still threatens a pre-emptive nuclear attack on America — if it can get its missiles to work.
The transformation of the old global order has clearly begun.”

Calling international politics a “battlefield”, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told newspaper Magyar Idők that Hungary’s sovereignty is under constant attack from foreign interests and the powerful left wing activist George Soros. Adding that mass migration threatens the future of Europe, he urged for the preservation of Christian civilisation.”
“Discussing how his government has come under criticism following the implementation of stricter border controls and asylum policies in the ongoing migrant crisis, Mr. Orbán observed that “those calling themselves liberal and left-wing – who are supported with the money, power and networks of international forces, with George Soros at the forefront – claim that taking action against migration is wrong, impractical and immoral”.” http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/04/16/battlefield-europe-stop-mass-migration-future-europe-viktor-orban/

“As Leon Trotsky observed in a lucid moment in exile, “In a country where the sole employer is the State, opposition means death by slow starvation.” And socialist George Bernard Show surprisingly nailed the even larger issue: “That is the use of money: it enables us to get what we want instead of what other people think we want.”
Our individuality is inseparable from our ownership of ourselves, our labour and its fruits. Are journalists going easy on Trudeau? http://ipolitics.ca/2017/04/17/are-journalists-going-easy-on-trudeau/ But what interested me was this partial explanation for Trudeau’s staying power:
“Some of it is ideological sympathy from reporters. Those Trudeau hasn’t already hired, I mean. They appreciate that he respects them and they return the favour, sparing Trudeau some of the snarkier kicks they gave his predecessor, who didn’t.” MacDougall may come closer to the mark when he talks about the social side of the relationship the incoming Liberals have with reporters. Stephen Harper came to office suspicious of all institutions and famously declared as he campaigned to become prime minister that the courts, the bureaucracy, the Senate and the media would collectively constrain his power. Although most governments — including Liberal ones — end their days in a sour relationship with the media, Harper’s actually started there. The Trudeau Liberals are more like the Mulroney PCs and the Chrétien Liberals, both of whom started out all chummy with at least some of the press corps. And of course, for whatever period that persists, it’s going to help the Liberals. When a government has just been elected, reporters also are anxious to acquire new sources, in the hopes of getting information and context. What happens inevitably is that, sooner or later, reporters write stories their sources don’t like. Sometimes, sources use their leverage to plant information that is misleading or untrue. The relationship frays. And then reporters start to “burn” sources — publishing stories they know will destroy a relationship because they value the story more. It can get like a divorce

“Happy Easter Sweden – Coldest April night since World War II”
“Record low temperatures and snow – Three weather records broken.
Unseasonal cold and up to 10cm of snow in Skåne, Blekinge, Kronoberg, Halland and Kalmar.
In Örebro, the mercury dropped to -14C, making it the coldest April night since 1944, according to P4 Örebro.
In Karlstad, Sweden’s meteorological institute SMHI said temperatures reached -9C, the coldest April night since 1985.
Meanwhile, the -17C reading in Floda, Södermanland, made it the coldest night since the local weather station was set up in 1995.” https://www.iceagenow.info/happy-easter-sweden-coldest-april-night-since-world-war-ii/#more-21096

Reports vary as to death threats, but a lifetime boycott was certainly threatened.
