Fewer bureaucrats, fewer regulations.
The sweeping order directs every federal agency to establish a task force to ensure each has a team to research all regulations and take aim at those deemed burdensome to the U.S. economy and designate regulatory reform officers within 60 days and must report on the progress within 90 days.
Nothing like expanding gov’t to reduce gov’t…:-)
I want to know the results of the EPA employee questionnaires that were administered by the Trump Admin. I want the results of those questionnaires made public … to name and shame the Eco-EXTREMISTS infecting our Federal government. The regulations in the building Industry are getting worse and worse each year. And the building officials are unhinged arrogant losers who couldn’t make it in the private sector. Their officiousness has gone completely insane. And if the general public truly understood just how much $$$ is being added (unnecessarily) to the cost of a new home (in CA anyway) … there would be a violent revolt and revolution that makes Trump’s marginal win look like a loss.
I don’t see that. Seems to me how that reads is that an agency(such as the EPA) has to put together an employee group (task force) to look at ‘over regulation’ in two months and then a month later provide proof of action.
The story also notes the employee layoffs set to begin at the EPA.
Ah okay, a regulator to regulate the regulators. Math is hard, but two regulators is more than one.
“Math is hard, but two regulators is more than one.”
It must be for some.
If I ask a party that has thousands of regulators to get maybe a dozen of them to evaluate themselves … the net increase is zero … like nada … like none, regulators.
Show your math.

Ohh, investigate themselves?….riight…you’re using common core math, I forgot…
The State legislators will not allow Trump’s fantasies of lowering American environmental standards equal to or below China and India’s and all in the name of carrying out a hare brained plan that will never work. That will never happen!! I saw the damage that acid rain did to our eastern Canadian forests, thanks to American paper plants that were spewing trash in our atmosphere. No one wants to see that again. In any event, Trump will not get elected next term, if he even survives the first.
The EPA has been out of control for far too long. I hope Trump cuts their funding by 95 % before he leaves office.

Acid rain was real. It was caused by sulphur dioxide primarily from paper mills, coal fired power plants, cement kilns, and diesel fuel.
In the beginning the EPA did good and necessary work dealing with significant problems like acid rain, mercury, and lead contamination. However once the big problems were solved, it went looking for more reasons to justify it’s existence and grow it’s bureaucracy.
Like all bureaucracies it fell prey to Pournelle’s Iron Law of Bureaucracy, which states- In any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people:
First, there will be those who are devoted to the goals of the organization. Examples are dedicated classroom teachers in an educational bureaucracy, many of the engineers and launch technicians and scientists at NASA, even some agricultural scientists and advisers in the former Soviet Union collective farming administration.
Secondly, there will be those dedicated to the organization itself. Examples are many of the administrators in the education system, many professors of education, many teachers union officials, much of the NASA headquarters staff, etc.
The Iron Law states that in every case the second group will gain and keep control of the organization. It will write the rules, and control promotions within the organization.
The EPA was long overdue for a thorough pruning.
Well said. I am sick to death of being demonized as “anti-environment” … because I call BS on the Global Warming FARCE. I am said to be in favor of Acid Rain, filthy water, and all manner of “toxins”. Nonsense. I AM in favor of NOT spending taxpayer $$$$ on FAKE science and dubious solutions to non-problems. I am also NOT in favor of kneecapping business … for doing business or intimidating citizens for daring to make ANY modifications to the Natural Environment.
When I was in college, I had a summer job at The National Park Service. That was my first introduction to the REAL EXTREMISTS within the Eco-back-to-nature-granola-eating-psychotics. At the time, there was a rather large group within the Park Service who wanted to completely CLOSE the Yosemite Valley from ALL human traffic. Not just automobiles … but people too. Restrict access to only TRUE environmentalists who would pucker their butt cheeks while in the Park so as to NEVER squat in the forest when nature called. They especially wanted to throw-out the (Capitalist) Curry Company concession from the Park and transfer ALL Park operations to Government-run operations. I was appalled at the abject HATE of human beings, elevation of “nature” (as though it exists separate from mankind) and utter disdain for capitalism. It was a shocking … eye-opening experience.
My first taste of Enviroweenies was at a protest at CFB Cold Lake where the US was testing the cruise missile sent from a B52 around the Article Circle and landing in Primrose Target Range. These whack jobs wanted to stop a 500+mph missle with a volleyball net tied to two 6′ diameter weather ballons (or helium filled).
The scary part was they were serious about it…
