Here’s hoping that Mr. Haidt is correct about the “tide turning” but recent events suggest against it.

The problem at the Universities/colleges is that administrators are trying to be logical to illogical people and reasonable to unreasonable people. I can’t say this enough times.
This approach is never going to solve the situation, that should be abundantly clear at this point. The SJWs have discovered that they can get away with just about anything if it’s phrased as, well, as Social Justice.
If the admininstrators/educators took a stand it would end, made some examples of consequences, ….well they won’t.
Yeah, the twits on twitter and faceless on Facebook would go crazy with condemnation. Crazy.
As Kathy Shaidle says, people have been predicting an end to political correctness ever since the 1980s, and it keeps on… not happening. Won’t get my hopes up this time either.

If not PC, safe places or microagressions, then where else do they turn for coddling, given critical theory says statism is settled political science?
Debate vrs shout downs? Umm – not. What else have they got? When have they actually tested their ideas, instead of emotive conclusions?
All that’s “left” is Alinskyism, violence and funding from reformed billionaires who profit from instability and wish to reign over us.
Helping the actual poor, not the middle class in crisis, there’s an idea; no it’s better to stay with the tried and failed, assuming they’re right anyway.
It’s all they know. To back off now would be to admit they haven’t got a clue. Expect a ramp up in their antics across campuses and legislatures.
Do you need a Social License to be a Social Justice Warrior?
First mistake is agreeing to call them “social justice warriors”. No one would permit the Klan to rebrand themselves as “Champions of Diversity”.
We need to call them what they are: intolerant totalitarian nutjobs, or something like that.
