So Ron James the comedian came to Ottawa and I interviewed him for my radio show on Newstalk 580 CFRA – you can listen live M-F from 7-10 ET.
Anyway, some conservative types told me they were not happy that I interviewed him because he didn’t like Stephen Harper.
Well frankly, we didn’t talk politics. He mentioned Trump once an I kept going on about comedy and mental health.
I think Ron is hilarious and at his best when touching on those parts of life we all relate to.
And he was in town to promote a comedy festival in Ottawa that raises money for mental health. So screw politics for a few minutes.

Ron is one of many Canadian comics I like to watch if they don’t try to make political jokes.
When I do watch their shows it’s on the big screen computer, so there’s no ads and I can skip forward over annoying skits.
He might as well drone on about politics, he’s not that funny.
Seconded.
Sure,we get politics all day. Except your Ottawa now host who also is on CJAD often and Question Period keeps showing his CBC bias and dissing Trump and finding excuses for Trudeau.
Ron James is a comedian?
Must be “Fake News”.
There are no comedians on CBC, at least not intentionally.
.
The endless, atruistic-egoism of the left is part of their obsession with poltics. The left, like islamists, are all about their politics. The need to be seen to be ‘doing good’. The insanity whereby we are all somehow, assigned to be in the service of our fellow man blah blah …. and if you are not compassionate and caring enough, the left will kick the crap out of you, metaphorically and for real, especially if you are wearing a Trump T-Shirt … talk about mental health issues.. They got ’em.

“…..in Ottawa that raises money for mental health”.
They’re close enough to go ask Justin Turdeau for my contribution before he gives it away to Pakistan again!

Maybe afterwards they can take the Festival westward to Alberta and ask Notley for some more.
Generally the morning has been for the conservative listeners and the afternoon has a more progressive host .
I, for one, would like Kate to do a thread on the state of Talk Radio as I believe we are no longer being well served.
I was watching a home improvement show on HGTV about over ten years ago and he was a friend of the host so she had him on to help with some backyard thing. So anyway, they’re sealing something and she gets him to lay a bead of caulk and he over does it so she tells him and he goes, “OH, too much caulk for ya?” she gasped. That was funny. Today that comment wouldn’t get through the editing process.
I never heard of Ron James until his anti Stephen Harper rant. And I doubt if I’ll hear about him ever again.
