Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, a longtime foe of the Obama administration’s environmental regulations, is President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to run the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), according to reports. […]
He has sued Obama to challenge nearly all of his major environmental regulations, such as the landmark climate rule for power plants, as well as water rules and standards for ground-level ozone pollution, haze, methane and more.
If confirmed by the Senate, Pruitt would oversee what is likely to be a major deregulation effort at the EPA.

The EPA must, at a minimum, have its powers reduced and be made more accountable to Congress.
As it now stands, the EPA gives the president far too much unbridled power.
Ever since the SCOTUS has ruled that the EPA has absolute jusisdiction over everything … it has become apparent that the EPA needs “internal” restraint. Go Trump ! Congrats for meeting face-to-face with Al Gore to give him a first-person view of your policies. To WARN Al what is coming for LIARS like him.
Pruitt needs to have a free hand and encouragement to clean house which means removing all zealots who might sabotage his efforts at reform. It’s what Harper should have done to the Bureaucracy while selling off the CBC as property and equipment. The EPA was a Nixonian mistake far worse than Watergate.
The good news keeps on comin’.
At its core the environment ‘issue’ is about jurisdiction. And Pruitt has approached the issue from that angle for some time now. Putting him in charge of the EPA presumably with the goal of getting it to respect jurisdiction which includes property rights is a very wise move.
I am also hoping that Pruitt will hire some strong science advisors to help clean the agency of its politically-driven science departments.
Trump needs an Interior Secretary to rid the Bureau of Land Management of their fascist, cowboy killing, administration. What really needs to be done is to figure out why the federal government owns the vast majority of public lands in the 12 westernmost states, other than Hawaii and little anywhere else. Then they need to divest most of it to the states. Washington bureaucrats and their SWAT teams are at war with the country folk in the west and it has to end.
When Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan became provinces the federal government retained control of public lands because people in Ottawa were so much smarter than people in the west. They eventually got over themselves and the US government could too.
Anybody else sick of winning yet?
Donald is the Energizer Bunny. He has worked harder than the other guy in just a month!.. Very impressive, and yes to no EPA.

Looks like a good choice at DHS,too.Next: IRS!
I hope AG Pruitt can work with the Republican House and Senate to pass legislation to scale back the EPA. They need to be prevented by law from many of the areas they are encroaching on. Make it illegal to regulate CO2, make them accountable for their screwups like the Animas River disaster, let the states manage their own states.
