I used to live in Brossard, my mother still lives there, and I was there this morning.
And got into a sort of ” altercation” with an immigrant family that was blocking the aisle at Walmart and no one had the courage to speak, so I did.
They were not muslims, they looked hispanic to me.
they had 6 children the youngest was about 5 years old the oldest about 14.
the two parents, their cart and the 6 children were blocking the way, I had noticed them from afar, other people were uncomfortable doing anything about it so they just waited , some turned around and went in different direction
our fear of appearing racist and of “hurting the sensibilities” of immmigrants have made us defective people , yes defective.
so anyway a couple minutes later that family of immigrants move closer to my end of the aisle and again blocked completely the way without a care for anything or anyone.
it was like they owned the place or were so oblivious to the most basic social conventions of CIVILIZED and WHITE nations ( they had light brown skin, call me racist for noticing and mentioning it )
that to them the thought of not blocking an aisle was foreign to them.
so when I try to pass I said ” sorry” once. and counted to 5.
they ignored me.
I said Sorry a bit louder and moves my cart a few inches closer to them and waited another 5 seconds ; nothing.
So I said sorry a little louder a third time ; nothing
so I said sorry even louder ; nothing
I took a deep breath, looked at the parents who id not care what their children were doing.

the parents turned around and satred at me as if I was a bizarre person doing something bizarre.
they did not ask the children to move out of the way.
SO I said sorry in VERY loud voice like when you give a command to soldiers.
the freakin kids turned around and stared at me with a puzzled look on their face.
all the parents did was say ” children, children, move out of the way ” ( yes they spoke English, which is irrelevant, even if one does not speak the language it was obvious I was trying to get them to move out of the wway, they spoke Englsih thus were not a family of deaf people either )
so the children started moving out of the way slowly.
I could finally go trough after much effort and causing a scene , which was the only to fix this situation other than wait for those pieces of garbage to be done with whatever they were doing.
As I was walking away pushing my cart, the mother yelled at me ” these are children!!”
then the father said something, I don’t even remember what as to provoke me, so I stopped turned around, stared into his eyes with a look that meant ” don’t even try” and I said with a firm voice;” are your children deaf” while pointing to my ear.

I saw a few customers timidly smile at me.
then about 15 minutes later again I ran into that barbarian family and again they were blocking the aisle COMPLETELY, but the parents notice I was about 10 feet away and coming in their direction, they quickly told the children to move to the side and ” and let the man go troguh”
I went trough then said ” thank you” with the most sarcastic smile I could muster.
In my exerience, over the last 20 to 30 years it is mostly immigrants who behave that way in shopping malls and other public places.
I have been in similar situations often and every time it was non-white immigrants, usually hispanics, sometimes middle eastern, sometimes asian ( as in Chinese not as middle east asian )
I am NOT saying white kids d=never misbehave but it is different, very different.
whites kids are aware of their surroundings more, they are aware of other people more, they may misbehave, scream, run, or throw things on the floor but they are usually aware if they are blocking an aisle and will move out of the way OR their white parents are very aware their kid is blocking the way and will quickly tell them and remind them they should always think of other people.
Non white immgrants, most of them anyway in my experience and we have a LOT of them here ( I live minutes from MOntreal ) do not care if their kids are blocking the way for other customers, the kids are totally obvlivious, and when you say ” sorry” and try to go trough, the parents do not use the occasion to explain to the kids what just happen or to reprimand them.
I have seen this dozens and dozens of times in the last 20 to 30 years.
Sometimes I wish I had a video camera always running on me, that way I would have evidence that in most cases non-immigrants behave that wya while rarely do white people behave that way.

That sounds familiar. We have a large number of people from a certain country living in our apartment complex, largely, I think, because of its proximity to the local university.
Many of them behave like they own the place and that the rest of us are intruders in their domain. For example, it’s not unusual for some of them to be rather noisy by, say, doing their laundry around midnight. That situation got so bad on our floor that the management posted a not-too-subtle notice about the hours of operation on the door of the laundry room.
Part of it is, I suppose, due to their being young kids away from home for the first time. I did my share of horsing around when I was their age, but I quickly learned that I had best learn to act responsibly or else.
Another is that many of them come from well-to-do backgrounds. (A lot of them drive Beemers and Acuras and I see those vehicles in our parking areas.) I guess they figure that since they have money, or soon will, they can do whatever they like.
Unless they’re landed immigrants or, possibly, citizens of this country, they are guests here and need to act accordingly.
However, I guess if I said anything about it I’d be labelled a “raysist” and might be hauled into an HRC tribunal.
I don’t know. In St. Louis I had to drive miles to grocery shop rather than walk two blocks due to a belligerent protected class dominating the neighborhood grocery. My presence alone as a prosperous, Caucasian woman would start violent, cart pushing and vocal displays. I abandoned my cart twice hoping I wouldn’t get rat-packed in the parking lot. St. Louis has been a hopeless, democrat machine town since at least the 80s. These folks have been there for generations.
