The commies are so stinking stupid. They ended up with useless people because nobody thought they would be elected. The bill outlaws kids from doing farm chores.
The one lady nailed it on the head. Putting the cart before the horse. Government comes out to announce the policies you will be governed under, not to include you in the process. Consultation, is code for, we’re your new overlords.
Riot? Where? I’ve seen more angrier people at a church functions.
Want to be heard? Get busy.
Another example of governmental types/statists injecting their personal views and virtue on society. Why would we think they would be act differently, being our superiors and all, with no experience in business, farming or realities outside the bureaucratic bubble. I hope the people of Alberta learn this lesson well; statists will take any granting of power as a mandate to do whatever their socialist mind implores. Next they’ll go after farmers who are “polluters.” Crush the economy, then the socialists will have to take everything over.
My daughter was in attendance. I texted her and asked if the crowd was angry. Her response was yes. A few minutes later she sent me another text to the effect… Now they’re angrier.
Riot?
Pfffttt!
Alberta has joined the rest of Canada.
Not a testicle in the whole place.
Why are Canadians always so weak and meek? Where is the outrage? Where is the show of force? Why do you not take what you want and quit pleading for scraps? I hate this about Canada and Canadians and it pains me as I love the people there.
Assert, claim, and then defend your Rights as you see fit, with armed force if necessary. Quit asking permission from the Ruling Class and their Overseer the Crown. Take what is yours and defy the commie bed-wetters to take it from you. Jesus Fucking Christ already.
I started driving a tractor around 4 or 5 years old. It was an old Case with a hand clutch that I just had to push back and forth to stop and go. I drove the tractor while others picked rocks or threw bundles. One thing about starting work at 4 or 5 was I never grew up to be a useless piece of crap socialist.
They’re in a hurry to pass this bill, because the NDP has learned from obama’s failure to get more legislation passed in his first two years, when he and dems controlled all 3 legislative branches.
Don’t worry Alberta, the NDP has plenty more legislation to pass before their 4.5 years are up. Hopefully after 4.5 years you’ll be ready to put back a conservative thinking government for another 44 years. If you don’t, the NDP will certainly have plenty more legislation for a full second term.
Take it from a Saskatchewanian that knows,,,the left never runs out of ideas to regulate you and control you and your family.
I foresee the anointed ones requiring armed escorts, through the hinterland.
How many of these Idiots need to have “unfortunate” accidents before sanity rules?
Sense sure ain’t common.
The NDP are channelling Pelosi, we have to pass it so we can figure out whats in it.
Of course under OH&S, when a helpless union halfwit stumbles out of their office and falls on the stairs, the committee charges the architect and builders with murder.
The courts convict.
Government success.
The Monty Pythonish elements abound.
As a parable; ” Hang the minister. We will find him guilty after April first, but hang him now, we can consult upon his crime later.”
Good things happening in Alberta.
No rats, also applied to two legged versions.
Now I watched the whole video, I find myself strangely encouraged, the NDP may rush themselves right out of power.
The real conservative politicians had better get organized fast, the people may move far faster than they anticipate.
after listening to the crowd I am a full supporter of involuntary political service, as with jury duty.
Any one of the questioners is worth a dozen of that politician.
Don’t they know to dress up in squirrel costumes?
THE WARM SYRUP OF RIGHTEOUSNESS LIBERALS POUR ALL OVER THEMSELVES GLUES THEIR EYES SHUT.
Anger is not going to cut it! The socialist liberal thinking in this country has now taken over in nearly every province and we are going to pay. Without the ability to recall we are now subjects to the liberal intelligentsia. Our new lords and masters are in the process of giving away our culture, our way of life and our country and telling us we have to be happy about it.
Perhaps this is the spark that will ignite the conflagration that is required to burn out the corruption that has become social/liberalism in Canada. As a farmer you realize the need to eliminate the non-productive weeds before they overcome the crop, we had better start eliminating the “Weeds” that are ruining this country.
Farmers upset by getting the government they voted for? Lol . Trust me “united farmers” is another socialist front they juat want their own brand of socialism.
Wallow in it. And the others in here are right not a pair of testicles in the place.
No one should be surprised. The New Dope Party is of the ‘just do what you are told’ school of governance. They are totalitarian by nature. We are losing our freedoms .. no wait! … we are giving them away with each passing elections. We get what we vote for. Most are voting for up coming slavery.
Except it wasn’t the farmers who voted the NDP in…..it was the all-knowing urbanites. The next thing the agricultural community should work on is to fight tooth and nail against the idiotic wind turbines that the NDP are going to try bringing into Alberta….while lining their pockets with taxpayer dollars, of course.
I’m pretty sure the majority of farmers voted Wild rose. NDP won in the urban centers.
The next “open meeting” will be much better managed by the NDP.
Well, angry I’ll grant you. But no riot.
Reckon you’ll need the sound of Tumbril wheels outside the door to get these folks’ full attention 😉
The cities of Alberta voted the NDP in. A couple of broken down combines on LRT level crossings in Calgary and Edmonton at 7:00 AM in the morning, plus a couple of tractors side by side in first gear on the major roads and you will have these voters attention. A week’s worth of direct action like this will cripple the cites.
Live by the Government; Die by the Government.
Farmers have lived by government handout forever. Now the government is putting their hand out around the neck of farmers and the farmers are surprised?
Live by the Government; Die by the Government!
Absolutely agree with you. “Live by the government”…… Farmers are exactly in the same boat as, say, teachers, nurses, social workers, highway workers, etc, etc, etc. Same work ethic, same pensions, same EDO’s, etc, etc, etc. Farming is easy. Anyone can do it
-sarcasm off
1000 combines and tractors driving down Highway 2 wouldn’t be very disruptive, would it?
We need a famine. Farmers need to stop sending food to the urban centers where this sort of lunatic thinking resides.
Look at this as an agricultural marketing opportunity
Rotten tomato futures are promising
Aim well!
Our illustrious cbcpravda encouraged everyone to only shop within 100km of home
Angry?
If people were really angry that guy will be dead now with several bullet wounds.
Unfortunately, people still think that “democracy” will solve their problems.
Next up a sales tax because as he said all the other provinces do it.Alberta died the day they voted in Red Eddie.Alberta t one time was exceptional, now its just another socialist slave state. By the way notice how used his magic socialist word diversity of farms to never answer a question. In his world thats an argument itself. The use of a magic word to shut others up is supposed to shut people down. Like at my old job you couldn’t say anything after they invoked the words managerial need. lawyers had come up with against any discussion.
Alberta committed complete suicide by voting these parasites in, now flocking from the other swamp lands of socialism from the rest of Canada in for the pillage.
We haven’t had democracy since politicians realized that they could make a law about anything and give themselves as much money as they wanted.
Trust me alot of “agri” folks and “farmers” love socialism ….i love farmers ranchers ect ect i have alot of respect for them and the woek they do. But they had no problem getting gov grants for fuel reduction by no till farming ect ect. Believe me alot of farmers vited ndp
A bit of context please:
Who are the politicians on stage?
Did NDP announce their plan for Bill 6 before the election?
my grandfather taught me how to use his double barreled shotgun when I was twelve. alberta and Canada need some shotguns.
Surprised no one asked why they are screwing with a system that didn’t need fixing. Introducing a bureaucracy that is useless and detrimental to farming is nothing more than a nanny state intervention into every aspect of farming life. A full revolt is the only option and needs to start now…….like what time is it now…now. As someone suggested, fill up Highway 2 with tractors, combines and everything else with wheels every weekend until this nonsense ends. Clog up Edmonton completely. Pay now or pay later.
America got hope and change, Alberta got Dope and spare change.
Anyone???
Lots of things stuck me watching this, and I have no horse in this race or Canada except for a love of freedom and those that would have it.
But they, the left, the statists, the bureaucrats, the liberals, the socialist, they have already won this and they are confident its not going to be a matter for change.
Watching the video lots of polite folks all clambering to give voice to a handful of (I guess) non elected bureaucrats, pleading for what they think are their rights, appealing to common sense, I’ve watched quite a lot of similar forums, talking houses and discussion groups and no one on that stage was consulting, no one was listening, what they are doing is ticking boxes, held a public forum meeting … tick, done.
And why can they get away with this, well apart from the obvious, its because everyone there participated, they the good farming folk treated the event as a meeting of equals, appealing about the minutia, the consultation time, the wording, the age limits, the area outside the farm house. The left has won because the questioners already accept that its going to happen, I don’t think any one started too or held the feet of anyone on the stage to fire and asked, what is the agenda? What is the end result they trying to achieve and why, under what evidence are they working and where are the facts but of course thats all academic.
When the left wants to shut down a subject this isn’t how they do it, when they want to make a point and change things they don’t participate in polite discussion and ordered protocol they use everything Alinsky outlined, they kick and scream shout and disrupt and break laws and ride rough shod over any form of order, as I think Andrew Breitbart pointed out. The good farming folk of Alberta will achieve nothing, sure they will have had their say and maybe a few bones will be thrown their way but that HSE legislation is going through, the handful of people on that stage told them that repeatedly and its written all over their body language and what they imagined passed for answers. And the farmers they will get used to it and they will adapt in some way and everything will be fine because they will get along with getting along and so the left wins, again and again and again.
The thug always wins in polite company, you might not like it but until he physically gets a bloody nose and kicked to within a inch of his life he wins, the left knows it because thats how it operates. Bringing a polite town hall discussion to a gun fight, you know the outcome.
“…why they are screwing with a system that didn’t need fixing. Introducing a bureaucracy that is useless and detrimental to farming …”
They are screwing with a system that didn’t need fixing because it didn’t need fixing. If it didn’t need fixing it didn’t need a bureaucracy that is useless and detrimental to farming, but which is the bureaucracy the government needs.
It’s about creating jobs, but the right kind of jobs: unionized civil service jobs for people dependent on the government, people who will always vote not for what a party might do in government or what another party might not do in government but for government for the sake of government.
If it doesn’t need fixing, break it.
We’ve often been told that we must adopt the tactics of the Left in order to confront them.
How to get their attention:
1. Organize the farmers to protest…get a thousand or more;
2. Hold the protest at the Legislature on the day they will be ‘discussing’ this;
3. Have the majority of protesters outside the main doors to the building;
4. Put 20-30 outside every other exit/entrance to the building, double that at ramps to underground parking;
5. At a designated time, the protesters at the main doors drop their protest signs (as they could be considered ‘weapons’) and storm the Leg. Make sure the farmers and protesters in the lead are fit, but elderly. Make sure you storm into the chambers while the Leg is in session.
6. Demand Notely’s resignation.
7. Never vote NDP again.
PS. Good ideas about tractors and combines on major roadways, but do it on the above day, also in the vicinity of the Leg…have to slow any RCMP response.
What an effing idiot this NDPee sucker is, I broke my wrist was told by WCB to take 2 months off, 3 young kids and a mortage had me working the next day, WCB paid me 410 dollars a month, the kids drank that much in milk. To exempt the Hutterites is pathetic, 7 of the 12 deaths on farms in Alberta were Hutterites a couple years back, but when your leader is married to her first cousin, is it any wonder they are exempt.
We don’t need farmers. We can just buy our food at the grocery store.
What “DSV” said.
Better still, import food produced in air, water & soil polluted China. I see it every day in our grocery stores. I saw garlic grown in Canada vs China & the Chinese stuff was 4 x less in price compared to Canadian grown.
do it on a different major road into Edmonton and Calgary every single weekday so the urban turds get the message.
…“but when your leader is married to her first cousin, is it any wonder they are exempt….
INCEST runs deep in Communism…
This group of simple (_i_)HOLES simply has no idea as to where their produce comes from…and never will. We have all seen how well communist state run agricultural system do.
North Korea a prime example.
Whats the goddamned rush to push this garbage through anyway…??? Where is true screaming NEED..?? If I am on Days off and you guys decide to march on Edmonton…count me in, I’ll join ya…!!
I’m an Urban turd and i get it plain and clear. If you want to march on Edmonton, i am 110% with you.
These (_i_)HOLE communists need to go. NOW.
Classic socialist bastards – crating a bureaucracy for no other reason that to make work for more pampered simple servants at our cost.
Give em 6 more months and they will stat the Wind Turbine Game…watch for them to make changes to the Municipal Act or whatever we have here, so as to be able to drive Legally ride roughshod over any and all objections to the installation of wind turbines on your property. And the rest of us get SCREWED OVER with 1000/Month electrical Bills.
We already have the cleanest Coal plants in the World…We dont need USELESS and Extremely costly wind power in this Province….nor do we need communists running it.
Time to rise up and kick this group of genetically deficient (_i_)holes out of Alberta.
What DSV said x2.
The Goof NDP rep said that they need to discuss the details for this to be implemented “as is” 13 months later NOW, but the legislation will become law 3 days later from this “show trial” of the NDP plan to public discussion.
This “discussion” is a SHAM which pretends to have “stakeholder input”, which will NDP cover to claim they had stakeholder “consultations” before forcing the legislation that is in fact already rejected by actual stakeholders.
Of course the Progressives(PCs) have already provided precedents for this kind of unpopular forced legislation with things like motorcycle helmet law etc..
It’s all in the name of SAFETY, what lunatic would be against safety?
I don’t understand the opposition. It was law under previous Conservative governments that oil field workers, laborers, trades people etc etc had to be covered by Worker’s Compensation. Yet an agricultural worker who performs hazardous duties doesn’t need the same coverage?? Where’s the reasoning behind that?? Workers compensation offers protection for both the employer and the employee.
I was a farmer, I always covered my hired man with Workers Comp during the summer season. At the time, the employer was immune for lawsuits resulting from farm injuries. And that was when Grant Devine and the PCs were in Regina. My Dad owned a garage, our employees were always covered by Sask. Workers Comp.
Why should farmers and ranchers be immune??
