  9. Misery loves comp’ny: B.C. has had a carbon tax, now about 8 cemts/liter, for years. We’ve gotten to love it,especially when that holiday way up North became too expensive, so we stay home and read a good book by Al Gore or Michael Moore and improve our minds.
    When Justin comes home from Gay Paree, he’ll add a Federal Carbon Tax,so we can ALL join in the pain!
    I predict 10 cents a liter to start,with yearly raises.

  12. Have I got this right, cap & trade AND carbon taxes (plus higher income taxes and no doubt soon a sales tax)? Only in socialist land does increasing taxes “create jobs.” Oh so does replacing existing energy infrastructure (including evil coal, which the US and China can use) with far less efficient and useless “technologies” ensure prosperity. “Sustainability” is the opposite of prosperity.
    How about nuclear power hmmm? Didn’t think so.

    Oh it won’t just be Albertans. Every Canadian who has any oil related energy stocks (including the Ont. Teachers Pension Fund) will take yet another hit.
    It won’t just be Suncor or Enbridge either. I’ve got a pipeline stock and a company that produces modular accommodations – both were stellar performers. Between world oil prices, the election of an NDP gov’t and the oh so predictable policies they’re enacting and now a Liberal gov’t completely on board with ‘global warming’….
    …not so much.
    But I mostly feel for the unemployed would’a been could’a been $15/hr. youngster who won’t soon find work.

    If albertans, Canadians , Americans have not done anything yet, they never will , we are all fat dumb and happy to become stupider, lazier, and owned.
    No will to fight, no brains to figure or question….meh I am going to become a politician or work for the gov or make so little that the government pays me to breed and work part time.
    This I say as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer with 14 years in the trade. And I have made 90k in my best year working non-sun 12/day for 4 months straight. I’m not lazy, but why would I try? They pay me to earn less and be home with my family more …heck yeah I will ride this pony for all she’s worth.
    I am in the USA right now my contract here is done in April I will go home sit around all summer then come back down here work part time doing what I do and make out like a bandit because our dollar will be crap, it’s dirt cheap here in Tucson to live so yup I will look to work for a company get my 1000 hrs in and Clare ei for the year and do that until people elect a government that punishes laziness ,and rewards good behaviour and hard work. Until then you all can rest easy knowing you will be paying me to be home with my family go on vacations and breed drink beer ..ect ect. I’m pulling the e brake on this crap right now.
    Oh yeah my wife will get a raise to as she works for Calgary lab services a gov contracted agency. Love it I thing she will be at 45/hr no was it 47/hr…lol I can’t remeber any more…heh heh.

  32. The amusing thing (or would be amusing in another time and place) is that no one in the media or anywhere else has seen fit to question the utility of any meeting with the provinces and cobbling something together just one week ahead of this Paris climate love-in.
    We have an immediate global problem – Islamist extremism – and no great sense of urgency or engagement at all. But we’re going to race around like mad for the next couple of weeks over climate change?
