We Don't Need No Stinking Giant Fans

Australia;

In a sign that the greatest Ponzi scheme of all time is about to collapse, Pac Hydro - an outfit renowned for its "social conscience" (see our post here) - has just clocked up one of the largest single corporate losses ever seen in Australian corporate history: Pac Hydro's books apparently record an annual loss of $685 million - the Australian Financial Review says "$700 million" - but with losses of that magnitude a lazy $15 million is probably just a rounding error (see our post here). From what STT can glean, around half of that whopping figure is attributable to losses incurred by Pac Hydro's wind farm operations in Australia. Pac Hydro has announced it will sack around 25% of its staff, starting from the top down: directors Garry Weaven and Brett Himbury were the first to go; and community "favourite", Lane Crockett has been given the 'pink-slip', too.

The fact that ALL of Pac Hydro's corporate pain and woe is being suffered at a point when the subsidy 'rules' have not been altered at all, gives a pretty fair hint as to what's on the cards for the entire wind industry when the subsidies inevitably get cut or scrapped.

Perhaps this should be forwarded to Elizabeth May. She did such a bang-up job in debating Dr. Timothy Ball, she could no doubt bend the facts of this disaster to suit her purpose.

Wind energy isa total waste its hazerdous to birds and bats and wind turbines are noissie and unhealthy

This shouldn't be funny so why am I laughing?

When "social conscience" squeezes out good judgement, society is the only victim. I woo the day when the wind turbines blow the brains out of the "enlightened".

The reality that "Private" traditional R & D actually involves the D.. development tools of REAL Cost VS benefits analyses. When it is done in an University environment; Government Money is unlimited & an economist pulls numbers out of his rear, so they skip the D.. They go straight to implementation demanding Science deliver. They know that Science is a commodity that any idiot can get at the corner store.

And just think, in 15 years or less they can start all over again. Hardly a long term investment.

stunning as the Australian wind has more mass that most due to the large number of bugs and flies everywhere.

And with a few different labels, coming to an Ontario near you.

Ontario bent over for Dulton, took it hard and fast from Butts and is now being scolded by Wynne for not believing in the existential threat of "Climate Change".

WYNNEING!

"When "social conscience" squeezes out good judgement, society is the only victim."

Well said and very much to the point. There is an extreme lack of good judgement these days among our citizens and leaders. Our society is being submerged by one economic, political, and social scam after another. That said, the people get the stupidity they elect. The Roman mobs supported leaders that led them to destruction.

Tie a granola munnching tree hugger back to nature eco-freak to the blades of a windturbine witha realy big galeforce wind blowing

That's another problem you touched on. They won't run in gale forced winds, or low wind, or freezing rain, or most nights. Useful as solar panels on a snowy day.

They could fire 90 percent of their employees and hire Mitt Romney and Herman Cain to
try to breathe new life into that rotting corpse and it will still lose money and
go bankrupt! The problem is these things were never meant to make energy, they were
designed in the Carter years as a way to enrich Democrat political cronies.

No private for profit company has ever built, installed, or ran bird shredders,
pumped energy storage or stinking giant mirrors on their own. They do it for the
government subsidies, and for no other reason! One cannot get rich using methods that
cost more to build and operate than the money they receive by selling the
product. It is that simple.

Someone needs to put a toe-tag on these "Renewable" power sources. Bury them deep
and do not bother to call Dr. Quincy, we already know the causes of death. They
first violated the laws of physics, and then violated the first rule of economics.
