will be switching next week they lost a customer in me !! 4 life or until they sever ties with suzuki
interesting in April 2011 there were several cash donations made in Guelph Ontario
the Liberal Frank Valeriote won that riding May 2011
worked at head office in Guelph for 4 years. In my opinion, if a company could be described as ‘inbred’, this is it. Riddled with cliques, if you were an outsider, you were ostracised (politely, of course). You could be first on the list, only to be told the course is full.
I wish I had know about that before I used them for my home and motorcycle insurance. I will not renew with them. Thanks for the heads-up.
I have insured with Co-operators in the past, but will NOT do so again!
After looking for some time on-line, I can’t seem to find any information on the donation habits of specific insurance companies.
I have most of my insurance through Cooperators and don’t wish to support Suzuki in any way.
Anyone have any ideas on companies that actually believe in conservatism and common sense? Not much sense going to all the bother of changing companies if the new company is doing the same sorts of things.
If you have any insurance with Co-operators. Get out now.
If your rates are still less than their competition, think again.
Its easy to bill for services that will not be forthcoming.
Co Operators cancelled my auto insurance some years ago, after 20 yrs and zero demerit points on my license , no accidents.
Their reason? My driving record.
Turns out they are selling expertise in auto insurance, while ignorant of the demerit point system by which govt judges our driving habits.
They use their own expert system to judge my driving habits, but can not produce their criteria nor explain how they gathered sufficient information to judge.
Very professional people. Not
I saved the email exchange over this matter, the institutional stupidity burns. Co Operators ended up after 18months climbing down and apologizing, but remained oblivious to their problem.
I found alternate insurance, and could not claim costs from Co Operators, as the new insurance was better and cheaper.
Teaming up with Suzuki, they are a perfect match, birds of a feather indeed.
I recommend the North Waterloo Farmers Mutual – good low rates, specialise in farmers & rural residential properties. I did insure with the Co-Ops a long time ago, but they got expensive.
How is it possible that an insurance company could be so out of touch with the Reality that they are tainting their image with such relationships?
Scam causes = Scam insurance.
Anyone who sends their teenage daughter on this program has rocks in their head.
Bad news folks. Most insurers love AGW. Their business model thrives on insecurity and worry over future events so what’s not to like about joining hands with the ultimate Malthus greentard. Insurance companies around the world like Hartford and Munich Re are heavily invested in green stupidity.
The rating system was propritory, and varied depending on province; the one for Alberta was particularly delightful. Parts of it probably still don’t work; during project meetings the most common phrase was “is there a work-around?”. I suspect that managers got paid performance bonuses depending on how many projects met the implementation date; In any case, the system is designed to maximise company profit, nothing else, just because it’s a cooperative, does not mean there are no corp shares, there are just rules about who can hold them.
Twenty-two years of insuring my house through Cooperators and they have just lost a customer when my renewal comes up in May. I can get a better quote from BCAA anyway.
The Co-ercerators?
Insurances companies are a racket, run(read made law)by gubermints. They make the Mafia look like pre-kindergarten kids.
I phone Rob Wesseling (1 647 522 8988) Chief Operating Officer of Sovereign General Insurance a Co-operators Company with it’s head office in Calgary. I left a message telling him that he may as well start moving his Head office as I don’t think he’ll be doing much business in Calgary anymore. Told him that it was his job to sell insurance and not be a Nut-bar activist.
“it offers home, auto, life, group, travel, commercial and farm insurance” – Do those idiots not realize that Suzuki makes his millions by promoting hatred of all those things?
Viggen, so proprietary, their ombudsperson could not explain, how they could judge the driving of a man with no demerit points, accidents or speeding tickets.
Would not respond, to my suggestion, that they were spying on the wrong JR.
The “Case officer” they tried to fob off on me was a moron, way too funny.
Can’t remember all the horrible details now,but some years back
Coop got into a similar PR shemozzle by backing one of their
adjusters who thought he could screw and stonewall a nobody out
of a fair settlement despite the fact said flack had zero
evidence to back up his slanders. Courts took a dim view.
Co-Operators fecked me years ago on my insurance.
A lease went back, at the lessors request due to their problem, I returned the lease with no personal repercussions for the situation. Heathlease…
I called Co_operators to cancel the insurance, it was done. I used the money for something else and they tried to go in and take the money anyway.
THEN they have me blacklisted for insurance for non-payment and force me into facility (higher premiums).
IBC wouldn’t touch it when I complained.
Feck ’em.
Y’all have some writing to do to the Roughrider’s head office!
This from Wiki on the Co-Operators Site: The company is currently title sponsor for the radio network of the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Let’s see if you watermelon-heads have any real pull with the team!
Fi on Co-operators period. The insurance division started a downhill slide in the early 80s that took them from being a decent and customer focussed service provider to a mismangaged and dishonest abuser of their customers. Don’t get me started on the incompetence of their field personnel…..
Now it seems they are desperately hoping to create an appearance of concern for public issues? And the horse they hook their wagon to is Suzuki!
What a joke.
