Not a good sign. I remember when The Western Standard started asking for interns…they folded shortly thereafter.
They had better get their ratings up or they’ll be broadcasting Dukes of Hazard re-runs this time next year.
The main reason for me not watching Sun News as often as I would like is that I can’t PVR just new episodes. They re-broadcast everything 3 times a day and my family complained that recording Sun News was screwing up their TV watching so now I just manually record 1 or 2 shows per week.
My PVR isn’t smart enough to allow me to record only 3:00pm episodes of The Source and the guide on Shaw has all episodes flagged as new.
Also, Ezra has a habit of belaboring his points.

It’s fun watching the competing channels pouring forth the fluff and hotties in order to compete with the SUN threat. Still resistant to the viewer who wants to see more than the local heart-throb story or last nights shooting or the last old lie about the Conservatives.
Gunney, hotties on other channels?!? Where? When?? 😉
Can’t Sun Media offer at least a pittance of some kind for this job? Maybe idle PKP’s jet 5 fewer minutes a day and pass along the fuel savings to the poor kid?
I’m considering it,but need to know more.

If you come across the resume of a guy called Kai Nagata, turf it.
I think that Joanna Smith,the woman who reported the NDP 344K payback,would be an idea candidate for a position at the Sun.
She will likely be out of work soon.The Toronto Star and their partner, the G&M,who co-own the Canadian Press ,are quite likely extremely po’ed over her uppity venture into real journalism.
BTW,the Globe still has not reported on the NDP payback. There is more to this,besides the obvious.

A quick check of this story at the Toronto Star,CBC,and the Ottawa Citizen show that none of the articles were written by the Canadian Press.
The Canadian Press is owned by Torstar and GlobeMedia,the parent companies of the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail.
A quick check of the Canadian Press site shows that they are not covering this story and quite likely,IMHO, will not cover it.

The CP provides a news service for subscribers. These subscribers,the largest by far is the CBC,but most are small to medium sized newspapers that can not afford many reporters so rely on the CP for many of their stories. The CP puts up a selection of stories every day. The newspaper then decides which ones to print.
This saves the papers money,which in their market is becoming increasingly scarce. A publisher has some tough choices to make,but the bottom line dictates their survival and influences their decisions .
When the CP does not pursue a story or print anything on a particular story,as the CP did with the NDP payback,the story will die a quick death.
Quebecor papers do not rely heavily on CP,but do use it. There is also the Associated Press and others out there.
The two national news sources,the CBC and the Globe and Mail both lean left. The CP,owned by GlobeMedia,must satisfy their customers to stay solvent. Their biggest customers,CBC and their own Toronto Star and their own Globe and Mail.Their stories lean to these customers and the other customers have to choose from the stories that satisfy the big buyers.
That is why our media is infested with bias. If it wasn’t for the blogs like this and SunMedia, we would likely be looking at a lifetime of bowing to a Liberal version of Saint Jack.
That being said …. SUNTV News … really needs to get their act together.
Sun TV is not going to last. Not much market for being told the same dramatic talking points by different people.
What gives with SUN internet videos …. my computer WILL NOT PLAY any of their videos .
I never have problem with all the other video formats out there …. Just SUN.
Do they use some oddball video technology ??? Anyone else have those issues? Thanks.
