  1. As a nation, we are SO lucky this hideous crime was committed in Kingston, and therefore was prosecuted there … a relatively small ‘wasp’ city, still relatively unscathed by the multi-culti-craziness of larger cities.
If these murders had happened in Toronto, the Shafias would have been found “not guilty” by a jury of ‘culturally sensitive’ McGuinty-lovin’ morons.

  2. Can someone now provide me with details? Apparently, the key was in the vehicle, but not turned to ON. Whose body was behind the wheel? What did the autopsy say about their deaths? Did they look for drugs? Was there canal water in their lungs? As the canal is only a few, maybe 12, feet deep, why couldn’t thee people push the doors open and escape, given that, apparently, two windows were open?

Sorry, but no. Several of my friends are muslim and they do not approve of this barbaric behavior either. They also, though, do not acknowledge the barbaric, arabic, origins of “their” religion.

and so have I muslim who do NOT approve of such barbaric behaviour
some in here are all or nothing types who not much better than lieberals

  5. Now is the time to add 15 years to the old B*stard’s sentence for polygammy. 25 plus 15…. Then revoke Mamma Killers citizenship for lying about polygammy when she gets out and deport the swine…

  6. Robert in Ottawa @5.45:
Have you been out of the country?
My advice to you is to read all the coverage.

  7. @OBSERVER
“Who are we to judge their values when ours are so shoddy?”
What values are you speaking of?
I do not condone nor do i agree with for any reason abortions, speak for yourself about our shoddy values.
I am a christian and as a christian i do not agree with aboritions at all , nor do i agree with hanging a homosexual for being a homosexual, i also do not support gay marrige as it goes against my moral code it is not good for a society to tamper with the traditional family unit time and time and time again this has been proven and probly the reason it is the oldest institution in the world and probly why god had it put at the front of the bible .
so again speak for yourself , my values seem to spot on so far but unfortunatley becasue i am a christian i am a bigotted racist , because i am white i am a biggoted racist,, and becausei am a male i am a biggoted racist.
When in a utah university imadinnjacket was asked how he feels about homosexuals in iran and replied there is no homosexuals in iran. .
talk about ass backwards and inside out . and it seems to me ..any and all nations that have a some point embraced christianity as there primary faith , those countries have by far been more successful than any other majority run religous country . so i am not sure if you knwo where you are but go to turkey if you want to see what the secularization in them iddle east is like , go to london england if you want to see a country that has abandoned its christian values in place of muslim/secualr ones. read about russia during the lenin stalin years where atheism and the govonrment was the peoples gods.
If people beleive in nothing …they will beleive anything!!!
sorry my friend but speak for yourself.
multi culturlaism is a facad iti s fake false it cannot and does not work nor has it ever worked uit is a huge social engineering failure gone wrong!!! we have borders for a reason !!!

  8. I say make them serve thier 25 years or untill ready for early parole. Then put them on a plane out of Canada, look how they have “dishonored” Canada. They have only been here for 4 years of thier miserable lives from what I understand.

  9. Here is a good example of why lawyers are so despised. Hamed’s lawyer, Patrick McCann, while still trying to convince any who will listen that his client is innocent said “I still have a hard time understanding how the Crown theory could actually have happened,” I know in this country everyone gets a fair trial and sometimes a lawyer may have to hold his nose to see that his client gets a fair hearing but it makes me sick when in the so-called name of justice lawyers often get away with twisting facts, creating improbable defenses and often with sickening results.

  10. Tomorrow’s headline, Canada is a racists’ Islamophobic nation and Afghanistan has a more advanced culture. The media party is not happy atall?

  11. My only complaint here is that I’m paying to feed them. As complaints go, its a minor detail.
Maybe we taxpayers will get lucky and one or more of them will get knifed in a yard fight.

  12. Hamed’s lawyer, Patrick McCann, while still trying to convince any who will listen that his client is innocent said “I still have a hard time understanding how the Crown theory could actually have happened,”
Or is he implying there were additional accomplices?

  13. The only upside I can see to the 25 year sentences is that the Christians in this country now have the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus with them. They have a lot of time to consider what they have done and have the TRUTH spoken to them.
The only true justice will come when they meet their Maker face to face. Then TRUE JUSTICE without a jury or lawyers will take place. No wiggle room there!!

  14. @Robert of Ottawa said
“..it appears to me that it was the kid that actually pushed the vehicle into the lock. How they were lured there, or previously incapacitated, is unknown, but it couldn’t have been without accomplices – mum & dad.”
Yes, I agree, I agree with the verdict that all three are guilty of 1st degree murder. That is the point you are making, I gather.

  15. Robert of Ottawa:
Read Christie Blatchford’s coverage in the National Post. It’s comprehensive and well written.

  16. Is the no parole for 25 years a mandatory minimum sentence?
Or can a “culturally sensitive” judge discount this?
Afterthought: The judge said it was hard to imagine a more despicable crime. True.
I would have been even more impressed had he said, “I’m waiving the normal wait period for sentencing and hereby sentence you all to life in prison with no possibiliy of parole for 50 years”.
Or can he do these things? I don’t know much about the law beyond that’s it’s an ASS and that Willie Shakespeare was right about lawyers.

  17. I fervently wish that this accident prone family does not have any ‘accidents’ while locked up.
Praise Allah, and be careful on those stairs,…oh darn,I said be careful.~(((:-(>>>

  18. Interesting what message some are pulling from this. Some of you want the death penalty back? Are you really so confident to leave decisions like that in the hands of government?
One thing though, comes out very clear from this decision:
    Multiculturalism has its limits.

  19. Multiculturalism has its limits.
Agreed and that limit should be: Absolutely no multikulti-ism whatsoever!

  20. Hang ’em or deport ’em. I don’t want any of my tax dollars keeping these monsters alive.

  21. ‘In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith
Becomes a Canadian and assimilates himself to us,
He shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else,
For it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed,
    Or birthplace, or origin.
But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet a Canadian, and nothing but a Canadian…
There can be no divided allegiance here.
Any man who says he is a Canadian, but something else also, isn’t a Canadian at all.
We have room for but one flag, the Canadian flag…
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the Canadian people.’
    Wilfrid Laurier 1907

“Then he (Hamed) returned to Kingston, where he and his parents walked into the police station to say the four women had vanished.
While there, the Shafias were told their missing Nissan had been discovered at the lock and that there appeared to be a dead body inside.
    ‘Only one?’ Ms. Yahya responded.”
