Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

She’s more experienced than Barack Obama.
Kathy Shaidle
“She’s more experienced than Barack Obama.”
Yeah…..so is my dog!
“She’s more experienced than Barack Obama.”
Oh, I don’t know, Barry is pretty experienced at receiving awards, accolades and cheers that are not deserved…plus he’s darn good at destroying stuff like economies, credit ratings and private investment confidence.
Hope she can stay strong when hell’s fury (progressives’ dirty tricks and smears) unleashes in earnest…
and yes, she definitely IS more qualified than Barack Obama, but so is everyone else running in the GOP race.
How the other side thinks? well, that great political brain, Michael Moore thinks the likes of Matt Damon should run for president. A somewhat pretty face, some speaking skills/big mouth and public profile and you are automatically pres material.
hmmm kinda like how the Liberal Party of Canada thinks…
Forgot to mention he is the world`s most experienced liar too…
Obamassiah is good at taking time off for golf & vacations and hosting AFL/CIO/SEIU leaders at the White House.
If Bachman wins the Republican nomination, the MSM and Democrats will have a field day with those remarks on gay marriage.Gay marriage will become the defining point of the entire campaign and with Hollywood’s highly vocal assistance,Bachman will be defeated.
It’s a shame that a tiny percentage of the population has become so powerful, all the while claiming victimhood, that to NOT bow and scrape at their feet means exile to the political desert.
Gee I’m only halfway through and what comes accross is Dick Gregory is a shameless Obama bootlicker.
It would appear that perhaps Dick is auditioning for Jay Carney’s Job?
That being said, I don’t think Bachman can speak in anything but talking points.
We need someone who can articulate the conservative message with the same sort of ease that Limbaugh does.
Bachman can’t seem to do it.
I believe Congressman, that’s how she is addressed not Congresswoman, Bachmann very effectively diminished if not destroyed a typically malicious attack on Women candidtes by NBC.
In the venacular, she tore him a new one. Cheers;
This announcer said let me Finnish my question (rant) when she tried to answer the opening part of his question, but then continually cut her off throughout the interview. The interview was not about getting her position but about continually attacking her with his preconceived opinion of her beliefs. I question why she would even submit herself to this type of abuse this early in the campaign.
That jackrabbit is going for the “religious wacko” angle.
They are so afraid of her that it’s all ahead full for derailing her.
I like her so far, she seems to handle herself well, and took the don’t mess with utopia argument quite well. The interviewer, OTOH is a biased twit. Sure, Dick the markets tanked because the Tea Party dared to oppose alarmist and imprudent spending, not the fact the US was about to set up the borrowing of $trillions.
Right, it was “dysfunction” that spooked the markets, not a country heading towards unsustainable debt, with a baby boomer generation set to demand $trillions in health care and retirement benefits, while simultaneously removing their productivity from the economy. Oh no that can’t be it.
This guy can’t be serious. Everybody in Washington thinks this or that? Is that why deals had to be made?
I’m not an Obama hater; I think some of the anti-Obama rhetoric is the mirror image of Bush derangement syndrome. But, he is showing poor leadership, playing the blame game.
Assuming you’re so wise, so the people should shut up until the election is elitist bullsh1t. Dick and Barack should take notice, because that’s the new paradim shift.
Whether its Bachman or anyone else they must not sit politely through these “interviews”, because they are not the product of a journalist simply doing thier job, but are shameless smear and sneer sessions.
The Republicans need to start turning the tables – which Palin is doing – and hold the media to account for their complicity in the Dem/Obama agenda.
RE the economy and spending, I would have liked to have seen her ask Mr. Gregory if understands baseline budgeting?
Does he understand that the budget automatically increases by 8% per year – yet that is not couted as a spending increase by the Congressional Budget Office?
Does he understand that a 2% cut to the Budget is actually a 6% increase?
Do you not understand that there have been no cuts Mr Gregory?
dmorris wrote: Gay marriage will become the defining point of the entire campaign and with Hollywood’s highly vocal assistance,Bachman will be defeated.
You’re sure about are you? I disagree. I think she’s the right person for the job. I also think she’ll win if she goes against the kenyan.
Wow…Michelle Bachmann gets more questions regarding her personal/political philosophy in a half hour than the One has gotten in four years.
This is gonna be one ugly brawl.
Matt Damon for president? He is an actor!
But then …. so is Barack Obama.
And a Great Pretender
“I raised five children and twenty foster children”
O
Is there anything Bauchmann can’t do?
I’d be asking who is Ron Paul anyway.
The “yapsalot” Gregory reminds me of TOM Clark the former CTV “yappedalot”.
Leftist American MSM biased up the wazzoo!
Bachmann for POTUS with Palin as the Vice-P, eh?
Bye-by, Barry and the Dems.
though I think she is qualified and quoted r Styne ++
I really like Michele Bachmann but also realize how much Leftards H-A-T-E attractive conservative women. David Gregory is indeed bought & paid for by the Democrat Party but he is tame (and not very bright) compared to the other Attack Dogs on the Left.
Barack Obama can not stand on his record, as it is beyond dreadful. So all he and his media sycophants can do is personally attack & smear his opponent next year. I fear that Bachmann just has too many vulnerabilites for the Leftards to go after.
With that said, I would support her 100% and might even relocate down to the U.S. for a few months to volunteer for her campaign! (I would never do that for Romney)
“It’s a shame that a tiny percentage of the population has become so powerful, all the while claiming victimhood, that to NOT bow and scrape at their feet means exile to the political desert.”
It’s a shame that a tiny percentage of gays has become so powerful as to speak for all of us. I want equal rights, not necessarily through gay marriage. And I certainly don’t believe those embarassing gay pride parades are any way to go about getting them, but I digress.
Bachman’s comments weren’t about gay marriage though, they were about sexual dysfunction and self imposed bondage – about gays themselves. They were completely incorrect, unpleasant to listen to, and not what a majority of people in the US believe about homosexuality.
If her comments had been about gay marriage, they wouldn’t affect her campaign that much, but these comments will. What other bombshell quotes are the MSM holding in reserve that will take independant voters away from her, should she win the GOP nomination?
I wont even start on how that women submitting comment sounded. She clearly has some bad quotes out there that will probably hurt her chances at getting elected POTUS, if not becomming the GOP nominee. There would be nothing worse than a bad choice on our side getting Obama relected.
Oh, and Go, Sarah Go!
Palin needs to enter the race, if only to split the media up the middle by forcing them to double down on their vicious attacks on successful conservative women. Divide and conquer.
She’s got to come up with better responses to the comments she’s made on record. You’d think her campaign team would do a little research. What are the views of the majority of American’s on the same issues? – might be a good place to start. As much as the Democrats will attempt to define the race on social issues, Republicans must counter with logic vs. emotion; the real and much more threatening fiscal issues. It is the subsidization of social programs that’s bankrupting the country. Subsidies create more of the same, not less. Let the Dems wear that right into rump status.
Needs to cut back on the fermeldahide.
@ Abe Froman
Ronald Reagan was an actor who became a great President and a leader who invoked the word “God” a lot.
The Progressives are soiling their panties…
Bachmann, despite imperfections that no one could be without, is a good example of a highly principled, representative “citizen legislator” and typifies what is desperately needed in government. The left / liberal media prying into her religious views might reinforce their own “enlightened” self-importance, but, as Pawlenty’s attack on Bachmann proved, it only made him appear smaller and now he’s out of the race. Bachmann put Gregory in his place while elevating her own stature when she stated, when referring to the suitability of potential appointees based on religious or sexual orientation, “that is a question I would not ask”.
“I disagree. I think she’s the right person for the job. I also think she’ll win if she goes against the kenyan.”
We’ll see,Terry. I’d rather see any of the Republican candidates ( I see Pawlenty just dropped out) win over the Pride of Nairobi, but his army will pull out all the stops once his opponent is announced.
I don’t think Bachman will be able to defeat Obama with all the sound bites the propagandists have to use against her.
I’d be happy that Bachmann was playing a spoiler to draw out the leftardish and RINOness and expose them further to the voters.
Then in comes Sarah…
“I don’t think Bachman will be able to defeat Obama with all the sound bites the propagandists have to use against her.”
Exactly as dmorris says. That’s why I’m all for Sarah Palin, we’ve heard everything she has had to say, and none of it has sounded as bad as the Bachman quotes in this one interview. She hasn’t alienated anyone except hard-core dems – though the media is certainly trying. She’ll take new members of congress with her, and though smart, she can speak to the average person without having to “dumb it down”.
“I don’t think Bachman will be able to defeat Obama with all the sound bites the propagandists have to use against her.”
It’s got nothing to do with sound bites – it has to do with who she is as a person, and what she wants to do with the nation. I don’t like Obama, but if the choice came down to him vs. Bachmann, I wouldn’t even have to think about it. The woman is a fanatic, a liar, and the worst kind of populist. She has all the worst qualities of a politician, with no redeeming values whatsoever. If she runs, it will be the biggest loss that the Republicans have had in decades.
Bachmann is fabulous. If she fails to get the nomination, whoever does, should make her VP or at least appoint her to hight office in a republican administration. Her and Sarah are the only republicans who are consistent and who are right in what they say,
America is at a point where they need a tough woman to get things turned around, Men are too likely to swayed by the dog pack and play too much golf,
Bachmann has an American Vision. She is very comfortable with that Vision. She may well go all the way…as to David Gregory, AKA Chuckles (It’s that drug thing), and the rest of the MSM.. The phony drumbeat is only heard by mental midgets
70% of America will vote against Obama regardless of the MSM trivial issues…The unemployed include all races & sexual orientation & political stripe…
Waiting to see if Perry has a Vision
If our ‘buddy’ Alex is against Bachman then I guess I’m backing the right person. Go Michele.
I can’t imagine how poorly B.Hussian would do having to answer questions like she did both here and in the Republican debate. Will B.Hussien, the Golfer in Chief, debate whoever gets the Republican nod? That’ll make for some interesting sound bites.. . umm, ummm, errrr, er ect.. Barry.
On the other hand, I’m quite ok with the women running (plural intended) to have these tough questions in interviews. Something about earning it, owning it…
I liked this interview. I particularly liked the part where Gregory pretty much came right out and called the American public a bunch of know-nothing morons for disagreeing with the Washington elite. That’s going to go down great in 2012.
Bachman could have done a bit better there. I think she would have made a lot of new friends if she’d hit him with her chair.
He tried trashing her. She ended up taking him out to the landfill.
What John said @ 2:22 and Terry said @ 3:12. However, lets see what Perry comes up with and stand for. Who knows whether Palin is keeping an eye on the process waiting for a chance to jump in or just stirring the pot.
I have no problem with David Gregory’s tough questions. I just wished he had done the same with Barack Obama.
“If our ‘buddy’ Alex is against Bachman then I guess I’m backing the right person. Go Michele.”
Absolutely; backing a compulsive liar / populist / religious fanatic is completely in line with your usual behavior. I wouldn’t expect any different. If you weren’t a complete nimrod, though, you’d realize that running these fanatics is a guarantee that the Republicans won’t win. I don’t really care who you vote for, but I do care that you’re handing the election to the Democrats on a silver platter.
Yes Alex thats all we need. Morerabid athiests with no morals, & communists ta boot. Hating both family plus Buisness. Done real well for us in creating an out of touch elitist society of entitled ethical morons. Just ask the British or the old Soviets how thats ended & ending.
Indeed the whole of Eastern Europe.
By the way will tell you the tale of how leftys. JUst love to turn us all into slaves. The human rights courts in this Country prove that every day, When did you become an expert of Religion?
Only in your mind is she a fanatic. In fact I would lay ods you think anyone who believes in God is a nut.
When they find the gay gene, your wonderful socialists will eliminate you completley.
Now thats the real secular Religion.
JMO
I hope the GOP does not choose her. If they pick her Barry will beat her easily. This might sound very sexist but I am not convinced America will elect a woman for President yet and this doesn’t mean I don’t think they should.
Don’t hold back Trollex, tell us how you really feel. Every time you open your mouth Bachman gains two cred points.
“Yes Alex thats all we need. Morerabid athiests with no morals, & communists ta boot. Hating both family plus Buisness.”
Well if that’s what you want, you’re almost as much of an idiot as the people who want Bachmann elected. However, since nobody like that is running, your comment is off-topic. Go away.
I’m concerned by Alex’s concern.
Well, I’m against Bachmann. I’m still inarticulate about why. I don’t want her as president.
I consider her good in interviews and committee rooms but lacking executive, and budgetary operational experience.
I also consider her illogical in some of her opinions, e,g, her answer to the illegals is: deport them all. Wow – Israel had a terrible time moving 9,000 odd settlers from the Gaza strip – and does she think the US could actually do the same with 12 million illegals in the US????
I think her role in this election is to say things that others don’t – eg, her current comments that Washington is ‘vile and corrupt’. Great. Sarah Palin has the same role.
And I am absolutely fed up with her “I raised 5 children and fostered 23′; I don’t care, I don’t care, I don’t care. It’s the economy, stupid.
I’m in favour of someone tough and confrontative like Perry, with the executive experience out of the committee room, dealing with diverse interests and interest groups, dealing with the diverse and even contradictory pressures and influences of a complex economy.
I’d like to see Perry, along with Rubio. And others in his executive – such as Pawlenty (would make a great VP), and West, Cain, Palin..and Bachmann.
The team has to beat Obama, who is now presenting Himself as a victim…and his latest self-image is that of Martin Luther King. Gosh, he came in as the Messiah who could stop the oceans from rising, arrived at his inauguration as Lincoln, moved onto being Reagan, is now into MLK..and, of course, with a few whispering dictators in the background.
But Obama is going to be the Victim of the non-collaborative GOP/TP. This ignores, of course, that until Nov 2010, the Democrats controlled the House, Senate and Executive, and could pass any bill – and did, without the GOP having the power to be collaborative or non-collaborative.
After all, Obama’s stimulus, the Pork Bill, passed without reading or debate; indeed, Obama threatened that the economy would fall off the cliff if Congress bothered to read/debate it. Same with health care; Pelosi told us that we’d find out what was in it after it was passed.
Debt ceiling? He could have passed it a year ago and chose not to…
Nothing to do with the GOP/TP.
But that’s going to be how the Dems play this campaign. Vilify and smear; Play Obama as Victim..he’s good at that..remember him almost weeping as he came on TV and said he might not be able to send you your social security cheques…a blatant lie. And define the GOP as ‘rigid ideologues’.
Will it work?
ET, I think Bachmann came across very well in this aggressive interview. The fact that she read Steyn’s book is a real plus as this book covers the absolute disaster, monetarily, morally and lack of personal responsibility of the west and the US in particular.
I recently watched some footage on youtube of Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute mile. The first two and a half laps of that race were led by Chris Brasher. The next 350 yards or so were led by Chris Chataway. Bannister was in second place the whole way and only led for the last 300 yards.
The Republicans will not have selected a Presidential candidate until next summer.
Actually the MSM/Hollywood faction is already pulling out the stops but does not yet have a definitive target.
ACORN and SEIU are still on the field and expect anything from them.
Voter fraud will be more prevalent than ever….recently 3 individuals were indicted for voting twice in S Carolina….that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Expect the ballots for overseas service members to be mailed late again and never counted. That Minnesota recall nonsense involved excluding those service ballots which did get returned on time.
The dems have so much emotional investment that the likelyhood of some violence is probable.
… and Ron Paul came in second in the straw poll.
