Tragic news out of Tucson.
Question: How long will it take before the MSM starts speculating that the murderer was a Tea Party member, Republican, white conservative, and/or NRA member?
Update: Early news reports did state that Ms. Giffords was killed and so that’s what I reported. The headline has now been corrected but I wanted to acknowledge my mistake.

  1. Natasha, thank you for that update. On the question of what his politics were, it’s really quite irrelevant to me. He was just a nut.
    BUT what does bother me profoundly is how sooooooooooooooooooo many on the Left immediately jumped on the bandwagon of blaming “the vast right wing conspiracy” generally and Sarah Palin particularly. Without a shred of proof.
    First Stage Thinking propelled simply by emotion, namely HATRED for conservatives.

    According to the sources I’ve read, Ms. Giffords is expected to live, but she took a bullet through the brain.

  7. Its understandable for a news organization to air erroneous information given to them, and confirmed by, credible sources. What is really troubling is when the Secretary of Homeland Security, with plenty of evidence to the contrary, continues to state that the 9/11 highjackers entered the USA via Canada.
    What is that vacuous bag doing in that position anyhow?
    Furthermore, how utterly rediculous she looks going to Afghanistan and Pakistan to tell them how to secure their boarders when she has no clue how to secure the US/Mexican boarders.

  19. The shooter used a 9mm Glock handgun to blast his way onto the front pages. Thanks to the NRA. Sensible people would have blocked the manufacture and sale of these weapons long ago, curtailed what gun shows can sell, who could buy a weapon, how many could be bought, how they had to be registered, and the type of ammo bought, and how much.
    In other words for all the three-thumb crowd there are ways to make sure nine-year kids are not shot to death at the local grocery store.
    When the person who fired the automatic weapon is charged with the murders and related crimes I suggest there should be another who is also brought up on charges.
    That would be the NRA.

  20. BM: Eh, the tea party is still fairly new. Given the amount of insanity in evidence here, it’s only a matter of time until some of you take up terrorism as a tool of social change. It’s too bad. Some of the ideas and reforms sounded really great, when the tea-party movement was first starting. I was quite disappointed when it turned into a collection of lunatics and idiots.
    Of course, your attempt to shift the discussion to “movements” is dishonest anyway, since it has nothing to do with what I said. A knee jerk reaction to blame every attack on Muslims is every bit as irrational and baseless as the attempt to immediately blame this attack on the tea party. If you don’t understand that … well, honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

When Kate uses the expression “Not dead enough” she is talking about someone who is already DEAD. Now why don’t you crawl back into you kennel and have a good nights sleep. Maybe tomorrow instead of yapping at things you don’t understand you will actually catch a clue.

  34. The remarkable thing about the lefty dillusion about the potential of violence from the TEA party emerged immediately after the SEIU goons beat the crap out of Gaffney in St Louis for selling T-shirts with “don’t tread on Me”.
    Then somebody realized that most TEA Party attendees not only passed the background tests but were licensed CC…..SEIU goons then avoided Town Hall Meetings and TEA Parties like vampires avoid sunlight.
    Washington Police mustered all hands for the first TEA Party, like they do for most large demonstrations. Now SOP for the Washington Police regarding TEA Parties is just another day….TEA Party’s even pick up their own garbage.
    Another aspect of TEA Party membership is the high number of veterans in their ranks….
    Jared Loughner: recently removed by Police from his college. History of drug abuse and alcohol poisoning…..2012 doomsday acolite…politics…lefty off the scale.
    His you-tube posts indicate bi-polar/skitso(sp)behaviour.
    I have heard reports he used an automatic weapon….which could be anything from a self-loading pistol to a ripper to an AK……I suspect this is a desperate attempt to leverage some political advantage when the initial TEA Party smear went….phiitt..
    It is difficult to speculate the motives of a nut-bar or his intended target…a FEDERAL JUDGE is one of the casualties.
    John Wilkes Boothe was a DEMOCRAT…Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN….the more things change the more they remain the same.
