I love the unbiased story title: “Is Glenn Beck Bad for America?”
Wow. I guess “Is Glenn Beck a Psychotic Serial Killing Deviant Partisan Ideologue?” was maybe too long . . .
He is not exactly my style, I mean he would be very annoying it seems to go for a beer with, but his ideologies are intact and the more conservative pundits the better.
Does anyone read this fringe magazine anymore?
Although I have difficulty watching Glen, I agree with his right versus wrong approach to politics. Admittedly I tend to vote conservative but much of that voting preference is based on the progressive’s wrongness whether morally, financially or philosophically. That is not to say that I would give the conservatives a pass on many of the same points simply that they tend to be closer to the right position than the progressives.
Up until now time magazine’s editorial staff was maintaining that beck was a rock muscian. I’m guessing many of their readers will be tuning into watch beck for the very first time this week.
I used to read Time magazine for some pretty good articles but gave up in the 80’s when it started to change into a magazine that pushed one point of view. Over the last few years – I read copies when waiting at the dentists – it just seems to push the opinions of the staff and not describe events.
Ralph Klein said something along the lines of;”The best way to succeed is to find a parade and get in front of it”.
The parade has been forming for some time and is now starting to reach critcal mass. People are sick and tired of being lied to by the MSM. They are sick of being marginalized by the liberal “I am smarter than you mentality”. They are tired of having the fruits of their labour expropriated. They are tired of the machinations of the likes of Boss Soros and Chairman Mo. They are tired of being called racist, sexist, homophobic, greedy, insensitive, when they dare question the policy the liberal elite are taking them down.etc. etc.
Mr. Beck is in front of the parade with one of those great big maces. God Bless him for being the one that is not afraid of all the slander and garbage that is being thrown at him
He’s certainly not mad. He should be happy with his new salary at Fox after jumping ship from the CNN disinfo cartel.
Certainly ideological conservatives can do better than Beck. With great conservative minds like David Horowitz, Mark Steyn and Jonah Goldberg denied any real public microphone, you have to wonder how a jumped up clown like Beck can pull a prime cable slot.
There are far better people to represent principled conservatism to the nation.
Beck’s in show biz, not qualitative political analysis.
I’m struggling with Time’s nuanced approach to their coverage of Glenn Beck. Am I supposed to infer that Glenn Beck is a bad person and I should never listen to him?
As for “Is Glenn Beck bad for America?” I think the answer would be, “No, Glenn Beck is bad for people trying to defraud the taxpayer and the IRS while trying to promote the prostitution of underaged illegal immigrants.” It would seem the editors of Time magazine are conflicted about that. And that’s why I no longer read Time.
From a purely business/financial point of view, I’ve long wondered if periodicals like Time have finally realized that they’ve decisively eliminated a large number of possible readers because of their Left and Far-Left slant.
Demonizing a popular conservative like Beck will cause an even greater rift between the MSM and the conservative grass roots.
The MSM is quickly painting themselves into an ideological corner.
This is the same magazine that, on Newt Gingrich’s successful takeover of Congress from the Democrats, ran a cover photo of Newt, lit from beneath in red and green, with the caption, “How the Gingrich Stole Christmas”
Yeah, Beck must be bad for America. If he is actually looking into who the Czars are, he must be bad for America… if he shows the videos that prove definitely that ACORN is a despicable, horrible organization, and causes Congress and the Senate to actually do their jobs, he must be bad for America. If he questions the new authority, he must be bad for America.
Heck, at this point, we are all bad for America if we ask questions. how dare we? How dare he?
I’m getting very tired of the media, and our ‘representatives’ – and this stupid game they are playing.
“The MSM is quickly painting themselves into an ideological corner.”
The MSM is quickly FINISHING THE painting OF themselves into an ideological corner.
See?
Fixed it for ya.
😉
Thank you. That IS better.
His detractors seem to overlook one thing: it doesn’t matter who the person is who finds this corruption. Pee Wee Herman could be the deliverer of this news and it wouldn’t change THE FACT that there is corruption in Washington and the progressives are running amok in hopes of drastically changing the country. The messenger is not the one who should be attacked here. It’s what he’s finding out that is important.
Vilifying the deliverer of the scandals does not change the fact that there are scandals. Just because many out there don’t want to hear the truth, does not make it automatically disappear. It’s there.
I’ll be really impressed when he pushes Oprah off the cover of her mag.
Glenn Beck is just a little nutty around the edges (I used to watch him on CNN). He’s sincerely sincere; in this world of default cynics (me, for example), I’m glad he’s doing so well with it – not bad for a “rodeo clown”. I actually would like to go for a beer with him (for one thing, all the beers they would belong to me. 🙂 ). I doubt there’d be much spin there.
That said, few women and no men should cry in public.
I don’t care what the MSM says about him. I’ll still watch him.
I watched Beck all the time when he on CNN (the only thing that was left worth watching) and had wondered, with all the syrup, promotion, and genuflexing over ‘The One’s ascendency, how long GB would last on the OBama News Network. Alas, he flew to FoxNews, and I’ve missed him ever since.
If you prefer your conservatism in the dour style of Charles Brinkley, he’s not for you.
But he’s accurate, funny, a little wacky (nothing wrong with that), and takes shots at the right as well, and keeps their feet to the fire.
The shrill noise you hear, is the left being excoriated by GB’s impeccable research and insight, as well as challenging viewers to make their own decisions, and find our for themselves.
Refreshing, too many ‘media sources’ nowadays (especially from the left) tell their sheep how they must think and speak (Hello Olberflame!)
Keep it up GB, I’m getting FoxNews soon!
Glen Beck is laughing his butt off at these maroons while he counts his money.
These days all you have to do to have a successful TV show is point and laugh at the DemocRats. The shows and networks (and papers and magazines) not pointing and laughing are TANKING.
But I’m still not turning the TV back on. I can point and laugh as well as that guy does.
Although I don’t always agree with Glen, I like his direct approach. Much like O’Reilly. Just nice to escape the politically correct bullshit that passes for journalism these days.
Is it TIME for the commie BS to end and for these shytes to fess up?
Yeah!! The press battles television and I am listening to ‘Escape’ channel on satellite radio while surfing the Net. Besides the politics , I think it is more of a relevancy cry by MSM.
Glen Beck is an American Hero – he is refounding the Consitution while the fringe media (Glen’s term) ‘groom’ themselves and each other (eating each others turds! – I heard it said here on SDA). I watch Glen Beck every day and I come to read sda because the left turd eaters don’t speak for me. I am proud of the company that I keep.
I guess Time was getting desperate for readers: ‘time to put a conservative redneck knuckledragger on their cover, an admission that they’ve lost …
Glenn Beck represents why America is in its death throes as a super-power. Oligarchy has long taken the place of a democracy. The failure to curb the massive disparities in wealth; the assumption this disparity reflects unambiguous merit; the stunning presumption of ‘just cause’ in every action your military undertakes; the childlike commitment to a primitive silly religion; the failure to ensure basic necessities for your population–like affordable health care (while you spend trillions on a war based on a lie); your insatiable appetite for simple sound-bites of drama and dirt in the media; the general intolerance of ambiguity on complex moral issues; the failure to take leadership on environmental reform; the justification of torture; the general inability to engage in civil political debate–the inability to present opposing views in their strongest light before challenging them; the tendency to imagine the worst possible motives in those who have differing opinions; racism; ubiquitous greed; and the unfortunate irony that you imagine yourself to be ‘the good guy.’ If you don’t bring the entire planet down with you, history will eventually judge you harshly. Your true greatness was a mere historical blip. You’re the Caligula of nations. Disgusting!
Beck made Time – about time some of the fringe media picked up on this guy. I have been badgering my friends and work associates to check out Beck and am pleased as punch to report that seventeen of them have now signed up to receive Fox.
I wish he would get behind the travesty of what is happening in Huron, CA.

There’s an interesting poll on Time’s website regarding the most influential right-winger.
Here’s what Google thinks:
