Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
The initial reaction was priceless. I thought I was going to experience a “Dan Rather” (walking off the set) moment.
I am really happy with the people that have been tracking down these things. Good on Kate and crew. My nomination for new heads of the CBC. (Unfortunately by the time you get the job, lobbying efforts to close the CBC will have finally gained traction. You may end up with your entitlements though.)
I really don’t get all of the hoopla.
Mansbridge looked exactly like he does whenever he is interviewing anyone and they are talking.
How can you conclude he’s “speechless” if the interview subject is talking? You think he should interupt?
REally really reaching here.
Ted , Im not the most observant of body language but you must be Helen Keller.
Pansbridge is uncomfortable as a who re in church.
Then he’s uncomfortable in every single GD interview he gives.
This is taking partisan hatred for the CBC to the extreme of silly.
Ted: You have to be a true conservative out in the cold for decades (and still, really!) to develop the refined reading of Peter Pansbridge. Yes, he’s a boring/bored government employee for life, but trust us all his body language spelled “stunned” when Olmert clearly limited his compliments for the government “over the past few months”. In the clip, I believe he mentioned “months” twice at least. Compare, for example, his demeanour to his annual happy-chat talks with Chretien. Or his happy face reporting when the Libs are gaining ground or winning in an election. Peter just can’t hide his bias as boring/bored as he is at what $500,000 a year.
Reminds of the old “two tickets to pittsburg” joke.
What he said was “ahem, well I guess we’ll leave it at that”.
What he MEANT to say was “you splay-footed Jew putz bastard you ruined my interview!!!”.
I think Peter’s head exploded just seconds after the cameraman faded to balck.
As a Canadian, I am particularly proud that Canada’s New Government™ has subdued those irksome principles which had prevented previous support for Apartheid -version 2.0. The faint praise of Israel is a bonus.
Now I know how he looked when he was interrupted in the middle of a legover with Cynthia Dale.
Hoo Hoo.
I saw a dear in the headlights! Mansbridge was not liking what He was hearing.
He looked like a dear caught in the headlights!
“So if Mansbridge and the CBC have an anti-Harper agenda, why didn’t he edit that part out? Or if he was truly upset about what Olmert said, he could have edited out the cutaways.”
Because truthseeker(?), you leftards have always had the MSM on your side. Guess what. The net screws you now because you can’t cut it out and runaway from your lies

Hey rightard, what you observed here was the interview as broadcast on the big bad MSM. Guess what. The net screws you now because you can display your paranoia and faulty, unprincipled ideology.
Another point: you are all assuming that the cutaways to Mansbridge were in real time. It is common practice in interviews to edit in a clip or two of the interviewer to break up the singular focus on the interviewed, but the clip that gets edited in could have come from any time during the interview.
I’m not saying the CBC (and the Toronto Star) are not unfair to the Conservatives, unlike the rest of the media which bend over backwards for Canada’s New-ish Government(TM). But this is a real contortion act of the facts to claim any sort of evidence of bias.
Conspiracies ‘r Us indeed.
Reliable sources tell me that just moments before going to air he was told that his dog died and that in true trouper tradition the show had to go on.
So Ted…what could have come ‘from any time in the interview’?…the body language that you couldn’t see before?Conceding are you?
My son has tv/broadcast behind the scenes experience: it was realtime and we are amazed that it wasn’t edited out.Maybe they even ignore him.
