Black Friday Shopping, 2020 Edition

In person shopping is not so busy in NYC:

Black Friday was a real bust across the five boroughs — with COVID-19 appearing to ward off the usual crowd of customers from brick-and-mortar shops on what’s traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year.

About 30 shoppers queued up outside Macy’s before it opened at 6 a.m. but the crowd had dissipated just a couple of hours later. The big-box retailer was peddling doorbusters like $19.99 watches and 40 percent off all boots and shoes.

“I got here at 7 (a.m.) but there was no line,” said Akhter Begum, 23, who opted for in-person retail therapy for good reason. “Sometimes online doesn’t show everything. Sometimes the size doesn’t work. Sometimes (items) look different from the pictures.”

Update: Here is live footage from Times Square.

“Father Of The Iranian Bomb” Assassinated Near Tehran

Timing is everything;

Iran’s most senior nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh has been assassinated near the capital Tehran, the country’s defence ministry has confirmed.

Fakhrizadeh died in hospital after being attacked in Damavand county.

Iranian news agencies said assailants targeted his car with a bomb before shooting at him.

Western intelligence agencies view him as the mastermind behind Iran’s secret nuclear weapons programme.

He was reportedly been described as the “father of the Iranian bomb” by diplomats.

I mean, maybe it’s just coincidence, or maybe it’s cleaning up odds and ends.

Speaking of cleaning up odds and ends, I believe this is unrelated: The directive, which the Pentagon’s White House liaison Joshua Whitehouse sent on Wednesday afternoon, removes 11 high-profile advisors from the Defense Policy Board, including former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Madeleine Albright; retired Adm. Gary Roughead, who served as chief of naval operations; and a onetime ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, Jane Harman. Rudy De Leon, a former chief operating officer at the Pentagon once considered by then-Defense Secretary James Mattis for a high-level policy role, will also be ousted.

The RedStar Employs Vile Racists

Toronto Star writer, Evelyn Kwong, has successfully shut down a “pop-up broth bar” in Toronto … because the owner is a white woman:

Sadly, the frightened owner of Ripe Nutrition, Alexandra Baird, has capitulated to the mob. With a vomit bag at the ready, read the comments to Baird’s Instagram post. I would walk across the street to avoid encountering any of these holier-than-thou morons. Is this really what Canada has become?!?

One would logically conclude that Racist Kwong will next be demanding the closure of sandwich shops and burger joints not owned by white people and pizza restaurants not owned by Italians. Waiting, waiting . . .

Sign of the Times: Karen Culture on Steroids

The Kansas City Star editorial board has found their inner Woke Karen and smeared on the guilt & fear very heavily:

But this fact is inescapable: Gatherings of almost any size this Thanksgiving are still dangerous and should be avoided.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas is more blunt. “Please, change your plans,” he said. “I’ve had 35 Thanksgiving turkeys in my lifetime. I can wait until next year for turkey 36.”

This isn’t getting through to everyone. An estimated 180,000 people are expected to travel through Kansas City International Airport during the Thanksgiving holiday, a scary number. There is anecdotal evidence that front-porch parties and weekend bar-hopping remain a thing.

But remember: While Thanksgiving is a holiday on the calendar, it’s also an idea. Gratitude and grace will survive a canceled dinner, or a missed slice of pie. There’s always next Thanksgiving, if we take care of ourselves now.

Next year? You honestly think the same voices won’t be screaming the same, or worse, next year? Maybe they won’t have to when the larger state has imposed Communist China like restrictions on everyone who can only travel with a digital vaccination passport. Come to think of it, if Biden & comrades attempt to impose is national lockdown, aided with guns pointed at citizens who don’t comply, then the test against a once free people will come much sooner.

P.S. You’ll notice that this post has been tagged with “Religion of Submission”. This used to exclusively refer to Islamic Terrorism. There’s now a new competitor for this moniker.

When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

A pardon for the ages.

Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Grant of Clemency granting a Full Pardon to General Michael T. Flynn. The President has pardoned General Flynn because he should never have been prosecuted. An independent review of General Flynn’s case by the Department of Justice—conducted by respected career professionals—supports this conclusion. In fact, the Department of Justice has firmly concluded that the charges against General Flynn should be dropped. This Full Pardon achieves that objective, finally bringing to an end the relentless, partisan pursuit of an innocent man.

General Flynn should not require a pardon. He is an innocent man. Even the FBI agents who interviewed General Flynn did not think he was lying. Multiple investigations have produced evidence establishing that General Flynn was the victim of partisan government officials engaged in a coordinated attempt to subvert the election of 2016. These individuals sought to prevent Donald Trump from being elected to the Presidency, to block him from assuming that office upon his election, to remove him from office after his inauguration, and to undermine his Administration at every turn.

The prosecution of General Flynn is yet another reminder of something that has long been clear: After the 2016 election, individuals within the outgoing administration refused to accept the choice the American people had made at the ballot box and worked to undermine the peaceful transition of power. These efforts were enabled by a complicit media that willingly published falsehoods and hid inconvenient facts from public view, including with respect to General Flynn. They amounted to a brazen assault on our democracy and a direct attack on our fundamental political values.

While today’s action sets right an injustice against an innocent man and an American hero, it should also serve as a reminder to all of us that we must remain vigilant over those in whom we place our trust and confidence. The people who sit atop our intelligence and law enforcement agencies have tremendous power to affect the lives of their fellow citizens. The American people must always take care to scrutinize their actions, to hold them accountable, and to ensure that they use their immense power to uphold the rule of law rather than to harass, persecute, and jail their political opponents in pursuit of partisan political agendas.

Happy Thanksgiving to General Flynn and his family, and thank you all for your great service to our Nation!

SCOTUS Rules

SCOTUS Blog;

The Supreme Court late Wednesday night granted requests from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and two Orthodox Jewish synagogues to block enforcement of a New York executive order restricting attendance at houses of worship. Both the diocese and the synagogues claimed that the executive order violated the right to the free exercise of religion guaranteed by the First Amendment, particularly when secular businesses in the area are allowed to remain open. Wednesday’s orders by a closely divided Supreme Court, which had turned down two similar requests over the summer by churches in California and Nevada, represented a clear rightward shift on the court since Justice Amy Coney Barrett replaced Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died in September.

Five conservative justices – Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Barrett – sided with the religious groups and blocked the attendance limits. Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, dissented.

Of course this means the pro-BLM protest tolerant left has #AmyCovidBarret trending.

The Sound Of Settled Science

A peer-reviewed study measuring the effectiveness of a controversial drug cocktail that includes hydroxychloroquine concluded that the treatment lowered hospitalizations and mortality rates of coronavirus patients.

The study, set to be published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents in December, determined that “Low-dose hydroxychloroquine combined with zinc and azithromycin was an effective therapeutic approach against COVID-19.”

Oh.

Margin Of Fraud

Hearing is here live. (Update — relevant portion is about 1 hr, 8 minutes in. But it’s all good).

@IvanPentchoukov: Pennsylvania judge blocks state from certifying election results in presidential and all other races.
Nevada: a Nevada judge has agreed to let the Trump campaign present its evidence that fraud and illegalities plagued the state’s election, enough to reverse Joe Biden’s win and set an example for other state challenges.

Wisconsin: Group files emergency petition in Wisconsin after finding 150,000 potentially fraudulent ballots
