Meanwhile you will get 25 according to this government for making mouth noises some bureaucrat finds offensive.

It’s not what you owe, it’s who you owe;
The Trudeau government let more than $67 million in GST go uncollected from a start-up airlines over the past several years.
Now the red-faced government is looking to sweep the matter under the rug, claiming privacy concerns.
In November, the Federal Court in Ottawa ordered all “real properties and immovables” of Flair Airlines be seized and sold to recoup $67,174,123 in back taxes. When the story broke in January, the company tried to dismiss concerns about the payments as relating to import duties, except airplanes aren’t subject to import duties.
There is however a requirement to pay 5% GST at time of import, something Flair appears not to have done as they brought 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft over the past several years. The amount owed by Flair matches the GST due on the aircraft but neither the government nor Flair is willing to say much.
On Feb. 20, that writ of seizure was quietly rescinded after the government and Flair came to an agreement on paying back the money. The agreement comes after months of high-powered lobbying of several ministries and the prime minister’s office by Liberal insiders.
CTV- Ottawa daycare operators say $10/day program not working
Saba Al-Odeh is the owner of Little Heroes Daycare Centre in Ottawa and says it’s been an uphill battle ever since opting into the $10-a-day program. Cheaper daycare was one of the Liberal government’s biggest promises, but now the program is struggling, with daycare operators warning of closures if things don’t change. “I don’t get a profit, we are not even breaking even,” Al-Odeh said. “The prices don’t reflect the expenses we are having at this moment.”
Federal Liberals have been promising to appoint the “most meritorious jurists” to judicial vacancies across Canada, but most candidates winning judicial appointments in New Brunswick over the last year have had something else going for them — personal connections to senior Liberal MP Dominic LeBlanc.
Five of the last six federal appointments announced in New Brunswick include Leblanc’s neighbour, a LeBlanc family relation and three lawyers who helped retire debts from his unsuccessful 2008 leadership bid. LeBlanc is currently minister of intergovernmental affairs, northern affairs and internal trade.

Whistleblowers or Masters of the Swamp?
At the center of this political storm are Cameron MacDonald and Antonio Utano, formerly of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), who find themselves suspended without pay amid swirling allegations of misconduct concerning the ArriveCan app’s contracting practices.
The crux of the matter here is whether MacDonald and Utano are whistleblowers exposing deep-seated issues within the federal procurement system, or whether they are, in fact, part of the very “swamp” that has seemingly engulfed Ottawa and the CBSA. It’s a saga that delves into the murky depths of government accountability, transparency, and potential conflicts of interest.
Blacklocks: Costs of federal employee salaries and benefits topped $67 billion last year, a record, Budget Officer Yves Giroux said yesterday. Giroux earlier described growth in payroll expenses as “worrisome.”

Canada’s Foreign Interference Commission faces intensifying credibility concerns as a Hong Kong immigrant group becomes the second diaspora group to boycott Ottawa’s examination into Chinese interference, based on concerns that several politicians “suspected of ties to Chinese Consulates” were awarded legal standing by Commissioner Marie-Josée Hogue.
In addition to publishing a statement to the Commission citing “concerns over its objectivity and security integrity,” Hong Kong Canadian boycott spokesperson Ivy Li personally questioned Commissioner Hogue’s own professional links to former Liberal prime ministers Pierre Trudeau and Jean Chretien.
In late January, the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project (URAP) pulled out of the inquiry, accusing Commissioner Hogue of enabling “a significant security risk” to the diaspora in Canada and their families in China.
URAP spokesman Mehmet Tohti said his group could not participate because two Toronto-area Liberal politicians — MP Han Dong and former Ontario Liberal MPP and current Markham Deputy Mayor Michael Chan — were given full standing, meaning their lawyers will be able to question other participants in the commission.
In the Reader Tips before the last one, SDA regular ‘richfisher’ pointed out that Tucker Carlson’s interview with Mike Benz was a much watch. This partially emanated from a recent Scott Adams podcast episode, in which he asked a whole lot of questions about various happenings in the world the past 10 years that just don’t make any sense. So why are they happening? Adams extrapolated some of the key points of what Benz said in the interview, did some of his own research, and added his own insight. The start of this portion of his much longer podcast can be watched here. Think of it as “The Unifying Theory Of Modern Insanity” (TUTOMA).
Update: Some have suggested that this law change, in 2016, is what has permitted the CIA and U.S. Military Complex to turn its extensive forces on the American people.
The corruption revelations are getting worse:
In September 2020, as Ontario’s real estate rocketed higher, a Toronto realtor with ties to Beijing claimed a fake Chinese income of $763,689 in order to secure HSBC mortgages for two properties, bringing her personal portfolio in Greater Toronto up to five homes.
What makes this realtor’s case politically explosive is not just that her network allegedly laundered money from China into Toronto real estate, nor the forged Chinese employment records they used to obtain massive mortgages from Canadian banks, or that they became Ontario landlords by leveraging criminal underground banks servicing Chinese diasporas in Vancouver and Toronto.

On February 14, 2022, the Trudeau government launched one of the most disgraceful actions in Canadian history. Viva Frei has thoughts.
If you’ve ever thought that not hiring the best people is a sure recipe for success, discard that common sense!
“There’s no evidence that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives reduce prejudice, and they may even increase it, says a Canadian professor who reviewed decades of research for a new report.”
“Proponents of DEI instruction make the bold claim that ‘it works.’ That is, they claim that it’s effective in changing behaviour toward the positive. That claim is not supported by the empirical evidence,” the study’s author, Laurier professor David Haskell, said in a press release announcing his findings. “There’s clear empirical evidence that certain aspects of DEI instruction lead to greater prejudice and even harm.”
Equally concerning for Haskell has been the widespread adoption of DEI initiatives without a robust examination of its efficacy in workplaces.
“DEI instruction is now aggressively entrenched at all levels of our educational system from kindergarten up to university,” Haskell told National Post in an email on Tuesday. “Core concepts of the instruction such as ‘white privilege’ and ‘implicit bias’ are promoted as verified truths. But the research shows that these concepts are not rooted in solid, empirical evidence. Ironically, the public organizations we have charged with providing factual knowledge are, on this front, doing the opposite.”
