  1. Another hardcore Democrat – disgusted with the result of the liberal policies, but unwilling to change his vote. So instead of fixing the problem, he just moves on, carrying the problem with him.

    1. He’s not very “contrarian” for an avowed “contrarian” … is he?

I am surrounded by these sort of supremely confident (read: arrogant) leftist true believers. Mostly ALL in high tech. Sadly, they have all fled SF, Oakland, and Berkeley … and have transformed my lovely little sleepy suburban town into Leftist Hipster Hell !

    2. He’s leaving because he is being forced to personally face the consequences wrought by overlord DeMarxist incompetents.

They can be as incompetent, negligent, corrupt or criminal as they want as long as he isn’t affected.

Now the beggars an d feces are at his door and he’s gone. Just another robber baron relocating. Or is it carpetbagger?

  2. “One wonders who he’ll vote for once he gets to Florida?”
As I always say… Liberals don’t integrate, they infiltrate.

  3. We all know who he’s going to vote for in Florida – these people who claim they’ve only now had enough of socialism have demonstrated exactly how much socialism they’re willing to tolerate and it’s far more socialism than any decent human being would be willing to tolerate. He’s fine with Venezuela, he draws the line at North Korea and we’re supposed to cheer his reasonableness?

  4. I believe that was meant as a rhetorical question, Kate… Nevertheless, based on his twitter thread, the answer is obvious. From the article, he retweeted: “…The corruption and incompetence is frankly Trump levels, just from the left.”

Florida is being invaded. That state is about to turn blue.

  5. Codex

I agree, he’ll help turn Florida into California.

Florida, “Turn out the lights, the good times are over…”

  6. No doubt he will be looking to bring and implement his social justice vision to Florida..

  7. I see he compares corrupt SF to Trump.
A good dose of Democrap in Florida will fix all problems, as socialism has in all areas it’s been adopted……….
You know how he will vote. Where will he ruin after Florida?

  8. Reading between the lines as I’m wont to do, Rabois responded in the affirmative to a tweet which had this – “The corruption and incompetence is frankly Trump levels, just from the left.”
These aholes just can’t help themselves, they’re hardwired to blame anyone but themselves and if it’s glaringly obvious people will likely call them out for it, then at least take a parting shot at Trump on your way out.
That’s the thing with these people…they sh*t the beds knowing full well they have the money and means to get out.

  9. Given that his moving is no financial burden to himself, he exemplifies VDH’s criticism of California’s coastal elite who can avoid living under the misery that they vote to impose on others.

  10. They can talk about people who travel rather then stay home spreading the virus or super spreader events, well types like him are spreading a new kind of virus, one called socialism. Covid will eventually become harmless, socialism never will. States like Florida should implement “citizenship tests” to determine who can move there.

  11. I found this in the comments. Interesting as well as unsurprising.

SF has the both the highest number of public-sector employees per capita budget as well as the highest budget per capita in the entire nation. Presently, SF has a population of about 896K and over 44K public-sector employees.
A population increase of about 21%, but an increase in public-sector employment by over 528% — with the attendant massive unfunded pension obligations.

Didn’t see any pushback coming from others about the commenter’s claims.

  12. My time in Florida has come to an end. My wife will not like that but I am older than her and have no intention of jumping through hoops to go to my perch in Florida. Most of my friends are dead and outside of the golf I guess I will die in the cold. I have had it with stupid Canadians. At least I moved into a new house from our condo and can afford to be here until I die.

    1. vowg, Wow, you had a condo? I bet the coolaid was really strong there! What ever possessed you to take on a condo. The only way I would live in a condo, was if all the members had gun safes, and reloading rooms in their condo’s. Something like “The Villages” but with a little more attitude. 🙂

  13. No doubt who he’ll vote for. Leftists. Saw it happen in Maine.

I read an article at “Issues & Insights” where they look at states such as Arizona and Nevada where fleeing Californians are becoming Californicators. Wisconsin (Illinois), and Pennsylvania (NY) are turning Left politically because of newcomers. In my mind, all the BS the Left has shoveled hasn’t worked with ordinary Americans, but we are now getting overwhelmed by a population fleeing the results of the policies they will be imposing on their new states. The biggest help to the Left isn’t their policies, it’s their failures.

This has been happening for some time. Maine & Vermont were the only states to never vote for FDR, within my lifetime solidly Republican, now thanks to people fleeing Massachusetts and New York solidly Left. Other than splitting up the country I can’t see a way out.

What are Canadian provinces allowed to do to restrict inter-provincial moves? Can a province require time of residency before voting, impose taxes, or do anything else to discourage those from other provinces from moving to yours?

    1. I don’t believe there are any restrictions on residency between provinces, just trade. I would think if you moved too close in time for an election you may not be eligible due to not being able to get registered in time.
But now, during The Covid, you have all kinds of problems as areas like the east coast provinces have made entry restrictive because they’re cunts.
