  1. All the morons here in Sask better stop going to get tested or right after the election next week we’ll be locked down. Moe is itching to shut the province back down but won’t dare until the election is over.

    1. Same out here in New China ( British Columbia)… having an election to find out if a majority Government can be achieved by either of the far left parties , NDP, Juthtin Turdhole LIberals or the extremists of the so called Green Party. Whoever wins becomes the shiny new dictator of New China salivating at the prospect of further lockdowns, house arrests, forced isolation and the mandatory wearing of a muzzle of course, for your own good. By next week New China ( BC) will have a new dictator with a whole new pile of anti freedom dictates. Thats the sole reason Whoregun called the election, the prospect of being the new Dictator… Count on it.

  2. Unless you have symptoms or have been exposed to somebody that you know is sick with it, tests are mostly worthless. I learned that in Statistics and Probabilities class. If you look at “cases” on world-o-meter, the trend in positive tests is probably right but the absolute numbers are a “give or take” type of thing, just like with deaths due to COVID, you can probably trust the trend, but the number is just a number in the neighborhood of the unknowable “true” number.

    1. Correct me if I’m wrong but if you go to get tested you increase, however slightly, the probability that you will be exposed if most of the people are there because they feel like a snot bag or they met with Capt. Trips.

      1. Bingo! Why go at all if you’re healthy?

And, if you have the regular cold or flu, going there to test, increases your chances of exposure.

GD stupid people and media lemmings!

On that note, Tam the man is disappointed that not enough Canajun haven’t voluntarily downloaded the Covid19 app to their phones, so they can be spied on, er, alerted to exposure. Watch now that this spyware will now be forced onto every cell phone in the country, like the “Emergency” app.

        1984

        1. My ‘phone doesn’t support the COVID-19 app and the”phone” is not connected to the web by design. It’s a ‘phone.

  3. Excerpt from an open letter to Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C. Provincial health director from a B.C Physician:

“Why are you still using PCR testing? The Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Health in
Ontario has publicly stated that the PCR test yields over 50% false positives. A New York
Times investigative report found that PCR testing yields up to 90% false positives due to
excessive amplification beyond the recommendations of the manufacturer. The PCR test was
never designed, intended or validated to be used as a diagnostic tool. Even the Alberta
Health Services COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Group has stated “clinical sensitivity and
specificity values have not been determined for lab developed RT-PCR testing in Canada”.
Despite expert consensus, you continue to use this inappropriate and inaccurate test to report
so-called “cases” and justify your decisions.”

    1. Why? Because it suits them and their narratives. Ask any “anti-poverty activist” what the “poverty line” is and they will quote Low Income Cut Offs (LICOs), which are not measures of poverty but of income inequality.

In fact it doesn’t measure anything, it’s a statistical tool. Collectivist close enough.

When your advisor is recommending a stock and you ask about its managers and track record, would you accept as a response, don’t look at that, look at its standard deviation? Of course not.

If it sounds good to them it’s “right” and only a fascist would disagree, who shouldn’t be listened to, given they’re subhuman.

One size fits all – covid, “creating jobs,” climate change (their big guy), and anything that obscures opponents’ messaging.

Disinformation and outright lying has been the left’s default for awhile.

Now it’s their go to tactic. Welcome to the new abnormal.

  4. Totalitarian healthcare will be the hammer to drive home Progressive tyranny. Your own breath will be considered a weapon that must be restricted.

    1. geoih, Turdo’s already taxing it, how long do ya think, before we have to buy special personal carbon capture cylinders to wear on our backs, and pay to dispose of when it’s full. Of course, you’ll pay that “buyback” fee, only where you purchase a new cylinder, that you can’t legally leave the government approved depot without a replacement. Just another “service” to add to the soon to be introduced digital currency mandate.

  5. Damn these “Public Officials” are stupid.
And we are taxed, excessively,to pay their wages..
Let us restate,”Thou shall by appointment only,be tested only if you have symptoms or are contacted by us through our ,totally FUBARed,contact tracing app..”
So piss off public, you will only be tested at Government Convenience..
Using a test method that appears highly likely to produce false positives.

    Fire them all.
The Dread Covid has done us all a great favour, exposing these clueless and useless bureaucrats for the empty suits they are and ramming it home to the taxpayer just how dangerous and ruthlessly mediocre these “helpers” really are.

  6. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Health in Ontario has publicly stated that the PCR test yields over 50% false positives.

Actually she said a bit more … by adding .. “If you used PCR tests in an area with no COVID “.. the PSR test would yield over 50% positives , so in an area with COVID , the false positive rate will be much higher , some suggest as much as 90% , so if a person really is sick with symptoms it will (most of the time depending on the false negative rate) indicate a real positive ,beyond that it is useless .. except for controlling the peasants.

    1. Brian, there are very few intelligent people left on the planet, at least those who believe in God and individual freedom.

    2. Brian

      Thanks for the Woodstock link.

I had chicken pox twice and remember the second time lying in bed asking my mum – why?

“because you didn’t get it good enough the first time”

  7. Who will I have to kill, before they kill me, an old man at the end of his life who will say FUCK YOU!

  8. At the beginning it was Public Health saying there were no cases because they had no tests to prove it. Now, maybe people are figuring out things won’t shut down if there are no cases.

    1. There are a lot of people out there, by which I mean probably more than half, who have decided they’re not going to cooperate anymore. People who were going along with the gag at the beginning, but now they’re not.

That’s a plurality of the population, in my estimation. People are done with the government, and particularly they don’t -believe- the public health authorities anymore.

Probably not a good thing, long term.

      1. The comments on the linked CBC article seem to corroborate your estimation. A large majority of them reflect huge skepticism.

      2. Oh yeah phantom? I didn’t go along in the first place, I’m sure as heck not gonna go along now….. Yeah, so arrest me!

      3. Agreed, Phantom. If health authorities had been reasonable and taken appropriate measures which were non-political from the beginning, people would have more patience for honest mistakes. It is clear though that things are being run by people who are both out of touch with reality as well as willing to toe whatever political line is popular. They were also hugely underprepared because their department has been focussing resources on political priorities. To the detriment of public health.

  9. The real question with testing right now is “do I want to be on that list?”

The test itself is not very good at detecting COVID. It has high false positives and false negatives. Furthermore, if you test positive the physician is required to quarantine you, but you don’t get any useful treatment. You get a red flag on your file, but it doesn’t help anything.

    1. Also, the test does not measure virus intensity. You may test positive with a trace amount of virus which is not enough to infect anyone. I know people who are utterly paranoid. It is criminal that the media on this is largely fear mongering. The messaging totally ignores the general effectiveness of most people’s immune system.

      1. Linda L: People need to get out and start living their life’s once again, this government has done nothing to help the people that need the help…surgeries cancelled, tests delayed or cancelled while hospitals sit empty. The Government handled it wrong!!!!! SARS, H1N1 and the regular FLU get handled better by Health Services available. Just look how government handled the virus and the Seniors killing many!!

  10. Great post GRM, finally someone talking about false positives. I have heard PCR test has anywhere from .8% to almost 4%. Without all the fancy math if you do a random test of asymptomatic people, ie 10,000 tests anywhere from 80 to 400 could be false positives. If you are testing people with symptoms the false positive rate goes down.

  11. My contempt is divvied up 50/50 between the government and the media. They wouldn’t get away with this B.S. if they didn’t have the media carrying water for them.
Name me one major media source aside from Rebel News who’s seriously questioned the gov’ts behaviour in all of this? Bueller?
Toronto Sun? Seriously, what’s happened to them?? I almost threw up in my own mouth after reading Christina Blizzards “Can do Canucks, We stared down Hitler, Watch out Covid!!” column.
What an insipid, sophomoric, steaming three coiler of propaganda cow shit. Dumbass hag.

  12. Growing government power is what makes me sick.
And if you say anything publicly you get attacked by the MSM, the Karens, the Ecotards, the neo-Marxists, the grievance industry, the Indians, the bureaucrats, the Health fascists, the police and all three levels of government.
Wait till the bill for all this shit comes in.

  13. If you parse the word pandemic with the word PANIC you will begin to understand what is really going on here . We will be trying to sort out this crap for the next 20 years .

    1. Maybe it’s an anagram — pa (dem) nic or Dem panic.

      See dem panic?

      The Dem governors sure did.

  14. Daniel Greenfield has a very good article . The politicians don’t know how to extricate from the lockdowns , so must find a fall-guy.

In Ontario Doug (“Dog”) Ford has announced he will no longer lead , but will follow whatever the bureaucrats dictate. Either he is a total moron who is incapable of leading , or he is trying to set up the bureaucrats for the inevitable fallout once the public realizes the magnitude of lockdown lies ..”flatten the curve” .

In Ontario in 2017 there were 2.5 traffic death per day.

Here is the current COVID death rate in Ontario. Go to Daily Deaths and select Table to see the actual numbers .

    https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data

So I guess we have a traffic accident pandemic also.

The Chinese Lockdown-and-Mask Model Failed. Now Its Proponents Need Scapegoats
    Daniel Greenfield October 17, 2020
The problem isn’t just the China Virus. It’s that we adopted the China Model to fight it.

    http://www.danielgreenfield.org/2020/10/the-chinese-lockdown-and-mask-model.html

    1. “It’s that we adopted the China Model to fight it.”
No, we did not. Seen any condo doors welded shut, outsides of buildings wire meshed to the 10th floor? People herded in the streets, streets blocked, check points? You were told to “self isolate” and the border left wide open to entrants until the US shut the damned thing. Plane loads flew in in the early days. Whiny Injuns occupied the news and front pages, while COVID was allowed in for a month, unopposed. Bonnie Henry was a sack of weeping jello on prime time TV and T Tam echoed the CCP/WHO Party line. Sock Buoy hid out at Harrington on your dime. All COVID Kan-eh-duh did was demonstrate the ineptitude of all levels of gubermint.
Now we’re gonna pay that new, improved carbon penalty for breathing the air and you’re still outta work.

      1. “Plane loads flew in in the early days.”

No, plane loads flew in the whole time. Still flying in. You can get to Toronto from Wuhan easier than from Toronto to Buffalo.

That’s why nobody believes the government anymore. If they were even faintly serious the first thing to happen would be closing airports and testing/quarantining everyone who entered the country. Neither of those things were done, so they’re not serious.

  15. It’s almost like they are implying that if this keeps up the numbers will drop to the point where the emergency no longer applies.
    Sarc off
The process in use goes as follows
    Ease restrictions
Public starts going back to normal
Declare that new cases have been found
    Encourage everyone to get tested
Alert public that testing has detected increase in cases
    Put restrictions back in place
    Rinse repeat

  16. Remember folks, if you don’t have symptoms chances you are not sick. If you are not sick, you don’t need a test to tell you that you are sick. And don’t believe the garbage about asymptomatic transmission driving an epidemic, because that has been discussed about the flu for years and the general belief is that it doesn’t happen.

And if you don’t believe me, maybe you believe Dr. Faux’xi

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1orSO094uY

  17. Alberta has ended all asymptomatic testing. Never made sense in the first place. Next to go will be the testing of people who have symptoms but no confirmed exposure. Great news for Alberta.

  18. the death toll in quebec has gone past 6,000 since the beginning of march.
it should be known that although quebec accounts for roughly 25% of canada’s population, quebec (pre-covid) accounted for 50% of canada’s elderly population living in autonomous, semi-autonomous and assisted living communities. these are stats but, it is a miserable, shameful record of mismanagement. i do not know why this anomaly exists.
i have known an individual for the last 15 years (only half the time she has worked in the same long-term patient facility) and… of the 350 individuals who lived there (and none of them were well) – more than 130 did not make it. she knew many, many of them by name and she has changed from the experience – her face has changed.
there were private homes where the elderly were abandoned and the canadian forces were brought in – but by then, it was mostly ministering to survivors.
i tried to find an english version of this official stats site but no luck on that.
    https://www.inspq.qc.ca/covid-19/donnees/age-sexe#deces

    1. This site has number, but not quite intuitive to read through.

      https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/2019-coronavirus/situation-coronavirus-in-quebec/

6055 deaths below is the breakdown in percent, not numbers. You can do the calculations but rounding errors will be within one or two.

      Age group % of deaths
      Under 30 years 0.0
      30-39 years 0.1 6
      40-49 years 0.4 24
      50-59 years 1.8 108
      60-69 years 5.9 357
      70-79 years 18.2 1102
      80-89 years 40.1 2428
      90 years or more 33.3 2016
Age to be determined 0.1 6

According to a pdf I saw from Health Canada 95% of all deaths with/from covid have been in care home, long term health, and assisted living facilities.

      1. Dwayne, the average age for fatalities in the U S is 78.2 yrs for cov2, it is 78.4 yrs for the seasonal flu, both kill us old folks at about the same rate. At my age everyday can be the last why the hell worry about it.
