      1. Part of the comment Charles Higley left on the thread:
“…blackhole seekers dismiss that dismissal and go seeking blackholes anyhow. In this case, the mathematics was tortured to create extreme conditions without actually recognizing that the real Universe has limits to things and NOT mathematical infinity results. Instead of letting the universe limit the mathematics, they let the mathematics rule/extrapolate the Universe, without considering the unleashed fantasies of mathematics”

  1. Yup, I saw this a few hours ago. Are beheadings for news-beyond-the-pale proper? If yes, limits on speech are to be expected. If not, then those who don’t belong in a pluralistic society are identifying themselves as improper for inclusion.

Which do the French want, freedom to post, or defense against possible insult? They can’t have both.

    1. GReat Catch MOWG..!

I like that guy – very literate and Smart.!!
      And he’s Absolutely Correct:
The DEMS are the party of the KKK.
      PERIOD.

  2. Trudeau vs the indigenous people

‘This truly is systemic racism’: Sipekne’katik chief is calling out Justin Trudeau over N.S. fisheries violence’

So NOW an indigenous chief and the red star want the RCMP to do their job. And the NDP call the white fisherman, whose livelihoods are on the line, terrorists. Is it cultural appropriation to use lobster traps?

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thestar.com/amp/news/canada/2020/10/15/this-truly-is-systemic-racism-sipeknekatik-chief-is-calling-out-justin-trudeau-over-ns-fisheries-violence.html

    1. What happens when a country has multiple sets of laws and rules for different segments of society, sooner or later the shit hits the fan. Equality or nothing.

      1. Buddy – At least maritime fishers know enough to show up to riot. They are terrorist and Antifa are not?

Good for Nancy for finding the information that lobsters were traditional indigenous foods. So far as I can tell the treaties with the Micmac were signed in the 1760s and lobster traps were not invented until 1808. While they may have spreared a few lobster in shallow waters I don’t think they used more effective lobster pots which is what they use now.
Having a regulated fishery operating in parallel to an unregulated one is the trick. This will be a true test of how progressive decisions of the SCOC play out in real life. I bet the SCOC ruling had subtleties to it such as indigenous fishers can catch enough lobster to feed their families for the summer. They ate big game in the winter. The indigenous fishers may be interpretting the SCOC ruling too liberally.

      2. Neither did traditional natives make commercial sales of their catch. This is a deliberate and calculated move by the Lieberals to create resentment and violence. Then they get to crack down on us evil racists in the name of peace and security.

      1. Nancy – There must be a lot more to the story than what the media and politician’s are telling us. I don’t think a commercial fisher would burn down another fisher’s business and potentially kill a person if we are only talking about a few lobster. 2020 just keeps getting better (sarc).

        1. Paul-
My bet is they don’t like to be bossed around by a NB Co. or the Feds.

          However, no wonder they’re bickering.
          These 2 points:
          • Check out Sobey’s (of Stellarton N.S.) prices for lobster on web:
“The freshest seafood, direct from our own fleet of fishing boats with 4 great ways to order:”
Item Price Unit Firm Shell Lobster: $6.49 per pound, 1-1/2 lb & up Hard Shell Lobsters $10.77per pound, Lobster Meat CKT$35.99 per pound, Fresh All Tail Lobster Meat $39.99
          per pound.

          • Today the world is scrapping for this precious commodity, check out the nutritional value:
          https://tinyurl.com/y2ye69nh

          P.S.
In the old days Maritime farmers used to fertilize their fields with lobsters, it was so plentiful, and there was no price for it.

The modern world hit them, things changed, prices skyrocketed, the Chinese market changed prices.

          1. A childhood friend in the Maritimes has five lobster boats at a million dollars each, one for each family member, and sells a million pounds of it through his lobster shop. 90% of the lobster in his shop is exported, mostly to China, at least that was the case two years ago. Back then he was complaining that the Liberals were doubling the taxes paid by his family members. There is no resource business that Trudeau and Butts don’t hold contempt for.

          2. Paul at 12:57 pm

Having spent 18 years living in the N.B. Maritimes I’d heard about the million dollar cost value per new boats. A lot of the families had to switch out to seasonal shrimp/ lobster fishing when the cod fish industry was mandated to shut down by the Federal Government.

Still, the place is a world destination for fishing because the water is comparatively shallow and therefore rich in plankton for other fish to feed on.

When Jacques Cartier and later Champlain explored the now Canadian Maritimes both remarked how the codfish was so plentiful that the fish were “jumping” out of the water.

            You might find this interesting:

            https://canadafishingindustry.weebly.com/the-east-coast-fishery.html

Today’s Maritime fishermen are not immune from the Government bullies despite what many in the R.O.C. may think.

A famous Maritime expression: “God love them!”

          3. I met a gal from NS, who said people who ate lobster in the past were considered “poor” folk. Especially if you was white.

          4. Also in the olden daze fisherman’s children with lobster sandwiches were teased at school.

          5. Nancy at 1:22 PM. Thanks for the link. I remember when the collapse happened. I can’t believe they still haven’t recovered. I think the restrictions on harvesting harp seals has had an impact. Seven million Harp seals weighing up to 140kg each will eat a lot of fish.

          6. Guys:
Lobster sandwiches, those lucky poor school kids!
Ask Westjet or Air Canada personnel if they’ve seen Maritimers go back out West with a few packages of New England style hot dog buns. They don’t exist West of Ontario. What’s the matter with Sobey’s-Safeway? They haven’t caught on!

Check this out, a Maritime Speciality:
This is their delicious recipe for Lobster Rolls made with hot dog buns:
            https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/bas-ultimate-lobster-rolls

(I’m impressed that Chef didn’t cut his hands!)

            And… Paul: @ 7:44 pm
Sounds like all this was planned like in California to save the smelt. We are not allowed to make a living in Canada anymore. The Liberals want us to be totally dependent on the Government. Oddly enough, most people in the Maritimes are dependent on the Government, either through Employment Insurance or Welfare.

          7. Well, just hope they don’t crash this Maritime delicacy: Saltine crackers, Kraft Cheez Whizz, topped with black strap molasses. It’s surprisingly tasty.

          8. @ 9:37 pm PO’ed in AB

I never heard of that one, but heard of fresh homemade bread / buns smothered in blackstrap molasses.

They also like fried Maple Leaf bologna. Boiled dinner i.e. sort of like a stove top stew with rutabagas, carrots potatoes, cabbage, onions and beef, it’s called a Bouilli. Of course, every type of fish and shellfish etc. They also like to make preserves like jams and sweet, not dill pickles. And they like sweets like cookies and squares. Cakes, for birthdays too.

There’s a lot of things that they don’t like or consume, ones too numerous to mention. As for drinks, they prefer water at the dinner table, if anything, tea, Moosehead Beer, and Crown Royal with Water.

            They live long lives!

      1. Nancy – Re “The minister needs to show leadership before someone gets seriously hurt, or worse.”. Too late for that.
PS Crosby was always good for a quote.

        1. A lot of the chicken Ministers are hiding behind the skirt of CV-19. How convenient.

Especially hilarious was Crosbie’s famous line to Sheila Copps to which she quipped:
          “I’m nobody’s baby!”

          Ha!

          https://tinyurl.com/ux5vxqz

          1. That was the line I was thinking of. She was something else. And I’m too much of a gentleman to say what.

      2. A Canadian business associate used to give me hell because I liked Moosehead Beer. He said it was made for the American market because we don’t know anything about beer. Maybe so, but I still liked it. Haven’t had one in decades.

  3. In case anyone is interested, Angry Adolf is spending a relaxing weekend at his Wolf’s Lair(Harrington Lake).

    1. Oz, you could hit every f-ing Canadian between the eyes with the truth and they would still accept a lie.

      1. My wife, who used to command a six figure income from the energy sector, has a part time minimum wage job as a cashier at the Airdire Superstore. She tells me she meets plenty of shoppers every single shift she works who know the truth about masks and the lockdown, neither of which are mandatory in Airdrie. (some stores mandate them and have very few shoppers as a result)

I don’t know where you live, vowg, but I’m sure you’re right about the stupidity and hubris of the people around you.
Did many of them vote Max Bernier as you did too?

      2. VOWG…..I agree with what you say…..Had the pleasure (sarc) of talking to a friend of my wife who believes we should social distance and wear a mask. She has rubber gloves, a measuring tape and dozens of home made masks and thinks Trudeau is wonderful, the media is always right, and the WHO will save us all….God Help Us….Steve O

        1. I think what’s at stake for the true believers is that they cannot accept that their government would mislead them or be incompetent. It’s a false believe, but it gives people security. I am struck by how many mask “scolds” and adamant “”stay homers” show up in letters to the editor. Then again, having sent anti-mask letters that don’t get published, I have decided that many newspapers have adopted a policy to promote the pro-lockdown and false pandemic narrative.

Now even the New York Times had articles about herd immunity and about the false positives from the PCR tests. Sadly, people (and our politicians) seem wildly ignorant about the virus and it’s real impact. I think our Canadian media likes to keep people dumb. I was disgusted by the banality of all of the Globe columnists this weekend. They are utterly simple minded. Not a decent columnist left at the Globe.

On a positive note, l believe there were anti-lockdown demonstrations in Toronto and Vancouver yesterday. Sometimes these are also in my city Ottawa, but thry are not advertised well. There was one about a month ago that I missed.

          1. LindaL, the media has been paid to promote the government lie, no matter what or how harmful that lie may be. 600 million in Canada can buy a lot of lies.

    2. Oz, I don’t do links but there is article at (The Mass Illusion) on remdesivir . Apparently the WHO has done a study in 30 countries, over 11,000 patients and concluded that the drug had no positive effect on the cov-2 virus, none “whatsoever”. Just one more lie from Fauci. If they used it on Trump his recovery had noting to do with that drug.

      1. You do know that the WHO is in the tank for the ChiComs, yes?
If there is any reason for the fear mongering over COVID19 it’s that the ChiComs want to shutter the economies of the West(the U.S. in particular) in order to make up for the damages that President Trump has done to China with tariffs and Chinese goods which used NAFTA as a back door to sneak Chinese goods into the U.S. market.
In short if the WHO said the sky was blue I’d have to look for myself because I know they said it solely to benefit the ChiComs.

          1. “If they used it on Trump his recovery had noting to do with that drug.”

Do you have any idea how incoherent some of your writing is?

          2. Oz, I sometimes make the mistake of assuming others are as well informed as I am.

      2. An old friend of mine who is a big wig university professor told me researchers make a report based on the desires of the person asking for it. No matter what results they are asked to find, the reports are always based on facts. If you wanted a report concluding that St. Mother Theresa was a dyke, a fully fact supported report could be researched and prepared. Give reports whatever weight you want.

        1. Politics and the pursuit of tenure and grants has wrecked scholarship. I don’t believe a damned thing those jerks write anymore, and I barely read any articles anyway because it’s clear they’re tainted. That on top of the acceptance of any claptrap emanating from third world countries, like the feathered dinosaur fossils out of China. National Geographic, lock, stock and barrel. Just disgusting.

      3. Fauci, where have I heard that name before: https://www.nature.com/articles/nature02759
        Referenced in: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/10/16/backstory-origins-of-the-covid-19-virus/
“Fauci has got animism, the attribution of a soul to plants, inanimate objects, and natural phenomena, really bad.

Fauci reacted to the ban on gain of function research by taking it to China. This was channelled through his ideological soulmates at EcoHealth Alliance.”

Worth a read. Don’t forget to wear a mask.

  4. The Liberal Party’s CBC is excited this morning about its new series “Enslaved” starting tonight. All part of the CBC’s mandate to bring Canadian stories to the peasants. Among other things it will show that Canada has a horrible history of slavery. And remember, only white Europeans in Europe and North America practised slavery.

  5. Sorry to be off topic, but I wanted to bring up China. I am opposed to America being China’s bitch not just because they are an economic adversary, but because much of their success is based on theft and the avoidance of fair labor and environmental law. But wait, there is more. How aware are you that China has made deep inroads into the Mexican drug cartels for the distribution of fentanyl into the Americas. And, did you know there is a major lithium deposit in Mexico that the Chinese are poised to coopt it? Google Joe Rogan interviewing Ed Calderon. This is an uphill battle for Middle America; this upsets the revenue stream of many powerful and influential Americans and American multinationals, in addition to the governing class and media. A vote for Joe is a vote for China. I think the Chinese are actively trying to influence the election, just my humble opinion.

    1. I don’t think introducing another or any topic on tips is verboten. Your information should be concerning for all.

      1. The Liberal Party’s CTV explains this morning that our Great Leader is standing up to China.

    2. Of course they are.

The Chinese are the Jews Hitler warned you about. That’s why our masters adore them. Cheap, clannish, endowed with all the empathy of a snake, and convinced that they have a mandate from heaven to rule the world and that outsiders were put in earth to serve them.

    3. Where do you think the fentanyl in Vancouver, BC comes from? Chinese freighters routinely dock in Port of Vancouver and at that huge coal loading facility, just south of Vancouver proper.

  6. A Karen at my neighbourhood supermarket yesterday.

I was finishing up at a self checkout when a ‘Karen’ pointed out to me that the staff used to clean and sanitize the checkout machine after every single use, but now have slacked off. I said nothing, and my wife wasn’t even with me!!!!

Me thinking: ‘lady touch anything, but don’t touch your face. When you get home wash up with soap and hot water while singing happy birthday 2 times which BIG SISTER has been banging on about day in and day out. And use one of the many MANY hand sanitizers located at strategic places in the store.

    1. ” I said nothing, and my wife wasn’t even with me!!!!”

      LOL

“If a man says something in the woods and there are no women there, is he still wrong?”

      ― Steven Wright

      1. clipe:

My wife actually told me that one after hearing one worker telling it to his buddy at a renovation site next door. They were yukking it up. My wife found it very amusing and often reminisces about it. Oh, I’m a huge Steven Wright fan but didn’t know this was his.

  7. On “Question Period” today, Heap Big Chief wants the RCMP to step in and lay charges in the lobster dispute. Racism because the RCMP won’t do their job you know. Even mentions “rule of law”….
How about we get the RCMP to do their job and enforce the rule of law around highways, railways, and pipelines.
Why should the RCMP care when they were being demanded to leave certain parts of Canada earlier this year?
Didn’t fearful leader even say that we don’t tell the police how to do their job???
Freedom for me, but not for thee………

    1. So Big Chief Gay Eagle With No Balls has ordered his RCMP to move against lobster fishermen, and whiny indians want the army called in. Yet Gay Eagle sitting at his Harrington Lake bunker whined that he couldn’t order police to take down indian blockades. And the police say they are helpless when it comes to stop indians from rampaging at Caledonia. Funny old country isn’t it?

  8. And now for something completely different to the current babble of COVID,Trump, Elections, Bidets and suchlike: https://achemistinlangley.net/2020/09/22/understanding-future-demand-for-heavy-oil-why-the-trans-mountain-pipeline-expansion-project-is-a-good-bet-for-canada/

    Then there’s this niggly, it’s dated 2017: https://larouchepub.com/other/2019/4633-alaska_canada_lower_48_rail_li.html

Personally, I’d back the A2A. Ship oil sands as bulk cargo, no dillbit. Just like we ship coal.
