  4. Be prepared for snow and cold temperatures starting Friday. Just what we need, eh?

    1. Got about an inch of fresh snow in NW Calgary this morning. Good thing we found the snow tires last weekend.

      1. If this is real, it would be so shocking and difficult for most Americans to believe, if it’s not real, it will be used to berate and discredit Republicans and right leaning media.
        If this turns out to be real, it will be the biggest October surprise ever.

        1. I have the book by Don Brown, a US Jag lawyer, which explains the material evidence from investigation from military documents and interviews of family membera of the downing of the helicopter, Extortion 17, carrying the entire Seal Team Six.

          They were executed with the direction of the plan and operation by General Matis, Obama, Biden, Hillary and many players within the Deep State.

          Executions for treason will follow this revelation.

    Sorry for the long-winded comments on an earlier post. To sum up I thought this little-known and little-reported fact might be of interest:

    The Chinese Government directly owns 24 Canadian seniors homes as of Feb, 2018, (21 in BC, 2 in Alta, 1 in Que) having siezed them from a disgraced Chinese insurance company which originally purchased them in 2017.
    “The Chinese Insurance Regulatory Commission seized control of the Anbang Insurance Group on Feb. 23 (2018). The insurance regulator cited fraud charges against Anbang’s former chairman Wu Xiaohui and risk of insolvency as reasons for the government’s takeover.”
    “Now, the biggest retirement and senior housing chain in B.C.(“Retirement Concepts Inc”) …is trying to reassure its stakeholders that the takeover will not affect its autonomy.” Good luck with that.

  11. Re: Allanah Myles: I had a friend who toured with her, he was the soundman in charge of monitors. It was before in-ears.

    He had to watch her move around, and turn her up in the monitor she was in front of – for instance, she’d go to the bass player and throw her arm around him while singing, and my friend would make sure her vocals were increased in the monitor for the bass position.

    Then she’d move away, and the bass player would yell at my friend, “Get that bitch out of my monitor!”

  17. Sad what happened in the end to Ms. Myles. Chiropracters are quack butchers.

    I have one particular memory of her as she was one of my teenage favorites as she is from the same part of the world as me (Buckhorn, Ontario) and besides being very talented she was what would nowadays be called a “smokeshow”

    My brother and I were in Scotland touring around in 1990 when that album came out. We had pitched up very early one morning to visit Eileen Donan castle (of Highlander fame). As the sun rose to burn the fog off the loch, we sat on the hood of the rental car and her voice came over the radio and out over the loch, great times.

    1. I’d never heard about her having back problems. What happened?

      She never seemed to really “make it”, did she. “Black Velvet” was such a smash and she never reached that height ever again. Was it songwriting that did her in, or was she just never good enough to sustain a long career in the first place? Still. Her time in the spotlight may have been short but it was damn good.

    1. Funding means nothing. They have millions, if not billions in their coffers. Who would ever find out?. Harvard and Yale have billions in their coffers as they they are old prestige school as is Queens.

    1. I am 1/8 Scottish. I never realized they were that stupid. Mind you, I’m 1/8 Irish and knew they were stupid So Scotland yearns for the economy of Greece? The interesting thing about Irish independence is more UK citizens could get Irish passports than the number of people living in Ireland. Independence for the shithole regions of the UK just changes the nature of the dependence. The useless humanity of the regions has to geographically move to the former occupier for continued subsistence.

      1. scar, my ancestors are Scottish and they came to Canada 200 years ago. When I was wee lad my grandmother could still speak Galic, probably the wrong spelling. The scots have lost their way just as Canadians have. We can trace our ancestry back to the Norsemen/Vikings. the world is being changed by idiots and morons because everybody now understands the language of idiots and morons.
