Riding Mass Transit Is Like Inviting 30 Random Hitchhikers Into Your Car

    1. COVID has KILLED mass transit. Just WAIT for all the TAX increases needed to prop up the empty fare boxes. Yeah … and nothing but the dregs of the planet riding their mobile homes across the dying city.

BART had a 90%!! drop in ridership. And I highly doubt if more than 20% has come back. Those are bankruptcy numbers

      1. COVID has KILLED mass transit.

That’s the excuse used by Edmonton’s mayor Donnie Dimwit Iveson for inflicting masks on everyone. Too many people weren’t using the transit system, apparently. Personally, I think he and his silly council lackeys were simply looking for an excuse to lock down the city, no matter how lame.

I’ve been using the system to getting to and from the airport once again. I’ve got lots of elbow room.

      2. Met up with several colleagues in Danville yesterday. Most have no hesitation about coming back to the downtown SF office. But riding BART is an entirely different matter. I don’t blame them. It’s like a moving homeless shelter on wheels.

        1. Brutal commute from Danville. Let’s hope all those Salesforce employees can remain Zoomer-employees at their cushy suburban estates. Lest the inadequate Bay Area freeways get even more crowded.

  1. Isn’t it a national policy now to not enforce drug possession charges? I know the feds are placing opiate dispensing machines in three provinces. Put yourself in the shoes of a penniless homeless addict, why would you care where you do your thing, it’s like chewing gum or picking your teeth. Now put yourself in the shoes of a cop or a transit cop… FIDO.

  2. But it’s their choice. Libertarians are always telling us that drug use is personal and doesn’t affect anyone else.

For the most part that’s true. Until it isn’t. If the guy sitting in front of your likes to watch beheading videos then that’s his business. Until he decides to try it himself. There’s a clear line about where someone’s actions start impinging upon you. There’s a less clear line defining when.

    1. Welcome to British California … I have a condo on a ski hill in that province and I could rant and rant on about it’s gov’t bureaucracy and punitive property taxes which have nonresidents paying higher school taxes than residents. BC = Bring Cash!!!
I laughed this summer when they were begging Albertans to return and spend after vandalizing our cars in April / May … one friend keyed, several with nasty notes left on windshield, one yelled at in the grocery store parking lot in April.
The granolas are for the most part commie lite socialists and take the mental part of environmental to the extreme.

      1. The granolas are for the most part commie lite socialists and take the mental part of environmental to the extreme.

One problem is that their thinking has a tendency to spread and infect other areas of the province.

    2. This is truly the worst part of the strategy so far.

Those poor little drug addicted criminal wretches, their Chiner drugs supply has been impacted by Covid, the street drugs now are so toxic. Poor little druggies, it’s killing you. Here’s some free, clean, super China White, you’ll feel SO much bette. Oh, and please don’t re-sell it, we trust you!

There are clearly 3 law systems in this country.
      1 for the abos
1 for the drug addicted wretches
And the last 1, is about enforcement, chasing down the middle class for all those horrible infractions like jaywalking and holding your phone while driving.
No fines for drug crimes, petty thefts, pandering or any other crime by the druggie zombies. They are SPECIAL PEOPLE!

And the media is front and center, dictating this stupid short sighted strategy. Meanwhile, diabetics still have to buy their insulin and hypos. Example of law system 3 noted above.

People are so brainwashed and conditioned to BELIEVE! And now Trudeau wants to give these wretches up to Two Grand a month in UBI. Hope they put it up their arm in one nice, big, hit.

  3. Just another addition to the “safe” injection sites. I am not sure why anyone cares any more, I no longer do. Stay away from transit, stay away from all the public venues as they are far more dangerous to your health and welfare than the virus insanity.

    1. Yup agree 100%.

The biggest reason to work hard and save hard is so that you can avoid Public Transit and buy yourself away from the Liberal social disease.

      At least for now anyway.

    2. Agreed vowg, I’ve lived in my friendly little town for thirty eight years now, and have been on a public bus here just once! I live in BC and stay out of the cities as much as possible, visiting maybe once or twice a year at most, and only when I actually need too. I agree to live and let live, but I don’t want my nose rubbed in it either, when it is, I tend to get on my soapbox and vent. SDA is a big help there. I’ve always said, if I ever get a very short term diagnosis of imminent death, I intend to try out these various recreational pharmaceuticals, just to find out what all the fuss is about, just before I check out. Beyond that, I stay away from such people and things as best I can. If they leave me the “F” alone, I will leave them the “F” alone. Nuff said.

  4. J. J., J. J. You are being awfully harsh and judgmental. You need to be more accepting. Drugs and getting somebody else to pay for them is nothing more than an alternate lifestyle choice. Sheesh, you guys!

    sarc/off

  5. I really miss the 50s. No one put up with that sort of shit. Decent people had sway. Now they are lucky to not become victims of the less-motivated. Even the cops no longer are sure who the bad guys are.

    1. Yes the Fabulous Fifties were a time so distant from today’s ‘progressive’ values that few believe they actually occurred.

    2. Actually in far too many incidents the cops are “the bad guys”. I blame in on the race to diversify. Quality control was the first victim.

    3. Decent people had sway

And that’s the crux of it … yes? That in our irrational zeal to promote the FRINGE of society … we’ve dumped “the normals”. We “Norm’s” are jeered and derided as uncreative drones compared to the body-mutilated freaks of society. We “Norm’s” have lost our sway.

PDJT May be the LAST gasp for all us Normal people. And he’s called a bigot because of it. I’m a very “tolerant” American … but I refuse to cede all political POWER to the freakish fringe of society … they aren’t the ones who built this great nation. I’m siding with the ones who did.

    4. Cops are, they just have inverted loyalty and milking what is left of decent public like everyone else does: doctors, teachers, construction inspectors, bylaw officers, and hordes of “fish and butterfly cops” of all sorts. In Canada you suck up to the government or eat mud.

  6. I bet if someone was holding an unloaded and trigger-locked non-restricted weapon the cops would do something.

  7. Mass transit is one of those necessary evils I’m afraid. Many a time I’ve taken the skytrain from YVR to downtown Vancouver and it was always a crapshoot. Met some nice people but have had my share of Chuckleheads as well.
Once downtown, it was a long walk down Robson to our hotel, and along the way you’re always treated to a din coming from the protest dujour at the Vancouver Art Gallery…an architectural gem that seems to be a magnet for hundreds of perpetually grievanced white hippy aholes and panhandlers on their break to congregate on its steps armed with what I consider to be the scourge of mankind…the bullhorn.
Cops simply gave up managing the daily crowd and traffic congestion they roped off the the whole block and said eff it.
I don’t go to Vancouver much anymore, in fact not at all, preferring other locales, and can’t say I miss it. They can have it.

    1. I DID luck out last time I rode the VC skytrain and metro to my daughters wedding … actually chatted up some locals who were marveling at the unseasonably fantastic clear weather. Yes … 86 deg.F and clear skies in mid October. Trees had already turned color … but the weather had turned PERFECT for my daughter. Stanley Park was beautiful … as was the harbor outside the windows of my Marriott Suite. Outdoor dining the entire long weekend

  8. Truedough wants everyone perpetually stoned and tuned out of his politics.
What can we do? Absolutely nothing short of reciprocating it. He wants you to shoot up, so?

    1. Well, according to mediots and gubermint”experts”, “WE” are all the same, and that druggie zombie on the street “could be you”!

The arrogance of these people to use such nonsensical propaganda. But they get away with it, using compliant socialist doctors and nurses, embedded in the bureaucracy (HELLO BONNIE HENRY!).

ItS been pointed out more than once, why don’t we see huge numbers of Grandmas or Grandpas on the streets too? They have also been prescribed opiates over the years, for joint degeneration, amongst other things. They haven’t migrated en masse to the streets, the government and zombie lobby’s excuses do not pass the muster here. They didn’t abuse the drugs and stuck to the schedule. Strength of Will is the difference vs the young, who clearly have abused their prescriptions, finding themselves “hooked”. But they still had a choice, to kick it, or not. Hell, they would be better off turning to pot for a week or two to kick the hard stuff, at least pot doesn’t turn one into a filthy zombie street wretch.

      1. Wrong! The young are coming to drugs not through the hook up on prescription, but by way of their own lack of character. I observe a generation of druggies grow up around me. They start using in high school and spiral downwards. There is a clear distinction between moral acceptance of drug use by the establishment of today and it being considered indecent decades ago. The left is acting as an extension of drug cartels and it has access to the young generation as teachers. What could possibly go wrong? Truedough’s drug tzar is a former teacher. This is too telling. The first thing they do in elementary school is inform the students where and how drugs can be obtained. Is this not criminal? Bottom line is that the left preys on children under the guise of caring for them. This is what monsters do. Yet Khanadians are too spineless to put an end to each such activism spree.

Kate, I clicked 56 captchas to post this comment. Something is seriously wrong with you, if you believe that subjecting your visitors to such torture is Okay.

        1. I don’t disagree with what you said, but, what is happening here is also as I said. There are many paths to finding ones way to using opiates. Many examples of mom’s of dead young addicts, who think they are honouring their dead addicts, by pleading gubermint to make all drugs legal. Illogical thinking.
Typical helicopter moms, thinking that never saying NO makes them better moms.
I was hard on my kids when it came to drugs, literally scaring them. I would rather that, and deal with the emotional issues, than be the permissive parent (we were surrounded by them) who grieves at their kid’s funeral.
