    1. I can remember when Ontario had a poor house in every county. Each poor house had a farm where bums had to grow crops and other food items to feed the home and sell for money towards operating costs. Now those homes are senior citizen facilities.

    1. O’Toole pretty well has to, as they came from Harper and are CPC policy.
Abandoning the targets would expose the party to much criticism, not needed right now.
Paris is non-binding and the only country that has a chance to meet the targets is the US which already walked away.
I’ll give O’Toole the benefit of the doubt for now.
Kyoto fell apart, Paris will too.

      1. If China isn’t doing it and America isn’t doing it, then no one should follow any of it. The whole thing is meaningless and will not alter the climate in any way.

          1. Somebody is playing and that somebody is trying destroy western capitalism and democracy, not that I tend to place much value on the current state of democracy.

      2. You’ll give O’toole the benefit of the the doubt.
        Really,,?

What is it with Canadian Conservatives that still NO NOT UNDERSTAND the dynamic that has been in play since the Dominion was created.??

Every Leader and many of their followers that go to Ottawa must and WILL Bend the knee and kiss the (_i_) of the power CABAL that really runs this country: Privy Council, Power Corp and the many families that make up the Laurentien Elites. Almost all of them LIBERALS.

This EASTern cabal will NEVER in a trillion yrs give up their political clout. Why on earth would they.??? Whatever cojonee’s Mr O’toole may have had, have already been Excised.

He will do as he is told….. IPCC is first, then will come affirmation of: UN is good, then same for Monopolies, same for Islam , same for Anti Free Speech and will heartily sign on to more Cash for the media propagandists.

        Scheer Redux – Trudeau lite.

WEXIT (for us westerners), is our only salvation.

      3. Maybe that’s what the Conservatives were thinking when they allowed Trudeau to arbitrarily pass the gun ban as well. without so much as a squeak from the Conservative Party.
The Conservative Party of Canada is a simpish, weak, bend the knee organization with no balls. Always groveling and placating to leftest organization and ideology, and the Liberal Party knows it.
This repeat performance of supporting the Paris accord is just the latest in Conservatives acquiescence. And to top it all off, it wasn’t even solicited. With friends like these who needs enemies. Erin O’Toole is just another swamp dwelling puppet.
Sorry but your lie down and hope it goes away argument doesn’t hold water in my books.

      4. Bob Daye

        Agreed. It’s politics.

I can’t get exorcised over announcements like this. Harper ignored Paris after he got past the original announcement. I suspect O’Toole will do the same. Too many bigger fish to fry and the country knows it.

        1. Bigger fish to fry?
Like the first time they supported the Paris accord? No fish there.
Like the carbon tax? They must have been sleeping when that fish took the bait.
How about the SNC-Lavalin affair? There’s a big frying fish that got away.
I know, Blackface perhaps? Na, small fry.
WE? Lost the bob and lead on that one.
The second unsolicited support for the long dead Paris accord? What did you call it? “Too many bigger fish to fry and the country knows it.”
Let’s not forget the gun grab. Yeah still an empty frying pan. No aquatic tastys there either.
Maybe the second upcoming carbon tax? I’m going to go eat some chicken. You can have crow.

  1. Is this the so-called Black National Anthem”? There was an article this football player says he will stand for both The Star Spangled Banner and this, so I figure this must be it.
“Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing”. I’ll link it but not copy it completely here.
    https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/48104/lift-evry-voice-and-sing
There is nothing “national” about it, until the last three words, which said “our native land.”
But the whole thing could be la Marseilleaise, which speaks of defending the homeland against foreign despots. This song sounds like that to me, regaining the native land against despots, winning but still work to be done.
It’s nothing less than a racist anthem, urging blacks to fight against whites. There is nothing at all about the United States of America as OUR country. Nothing about being grateful they are damned lucky to be born here rather than Africa.
But it does have some lines referencing other things that are strangely apropos for our age:
“Felt in the days when hope unborn had died”, no he wasn’t talking about the genocide of black unborn babies, but he could have been.
“Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.” Hmm?
But he does believe in God, “True to our God,” he said. Which is more than I can say for most of the BLM.

    1. She do better by claiming she was completely blindsided by her department, otherwise she has to explain why nothing happened.

      1. And she’ll get away with it, too. No Trumaneque “The buck stops here” for her.

    1. Joe Biden’s America. After the shooting of two L.A. police officers, a crowd showed up at the hospital shouting kill all cops.

    2. Compton?
      1990 – Black 48,570
      – Hispanic 38,316
      – White 1,613
      – Pacific Islander 1,186
      – Other 751
      ———–
      – Total 90,454

It’s the fault of the 1.78% white population.

      1. Due to the fact that the U.S. Census refuses to recognize Hispanic/Latino as a race, the closest I can read the 2010 census is:
        65.0% Hispanic of any race
        32.9% Black
        0.8% Non-Hispanic White
        0.7% Native American
        0.3% Asian
25.1% claim to be Hispanic Whites. Interestingly, 36.2% claim to be Pacific Islanders. Almost all of them must claim to be Hispanics as well. I didn’t know there were so many Hispanic Pacific Islanders.
Compton was one of the first L.A. County cities where the real estate agents succeeded in block busting, when almost all the whites eventually moved out. (My parents owned a poppa and momma grocery store there until the early 70’s, when it was still mostly white.) The blacks took over the city and eventually city hall. Later mass immigration of Hispanics saw them became the majority in Compton, but the blacks never gave up their power. I guess what is sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander. The city manager and mayor are both black, as are most of the city officials. As far as I can tell, there is one Hispanic on the city council.
The city of Compton is most famous for its endemic corruption.

    3. Ed, CBC News is still not reporting oon the shooting of the policemen. And not that protesters stormed into the hospital, shouting “F*** the police”, trying to get into the emetgency room. And so far CBC News is censoring this story.

      1. Some time ago, on another thread, I said I was thinking of making a mask with the Gadsden Flag/Don’t Tread on Me. B A Deplorable suggested Sic Semper Tyrannis and/or Live Free or Die. I found a great image of the Gadsden Flag with Don’t Tread on Me AND Live Free or Die so I made my mask and wear it proudly. No comments yet but I suspect most Canadians don’t understand its origins.

        1. I thought just making one that said vote Trump would be more than enough to set people’s hair on fire. We should never get too intellectual when dealing with the current crop of morons. I doubt that 99% would even care if it went back to 1775.

        2. It is now interesting that the live free or die state is one of the most socialist states in America.

        3. I am wearing a white mask with a simple red triangle… like the mark of political prisoners in Nazi concentration camps.

  2. Blue Collar Logic from about a month ago, “Why I left the Democrats eight years ago, 2020 reflections”.

9 minutes, a little slow to start, but it all ties in to some of the questions the current him would ask his former girlfriend. The 30 second argument for why to watch the whole thing is at 4:30.

  3. Angry Adolf is having a hard time choosing a new chief of staff for the Canadian Armed Forces. I guess he is having trouble finding a black, muslim, feminist, lesbian in a wheelchair to fill the role.

    1. I seem to remember Bonnie Henry, early on in COVID time, voice quavering and almost in tears of COVID fear, telling BC’ers on TV….it was the end of times and we’re all gonna diiiiieee. (snif)
Meanwhile, aircraft still landed (and still do to this day) from Chinah, but you couldn’t drive over the 49th. Masks weren’t needed and nobody mentioned Roxham Road was still wide open.
You get fined thousands now for no mask today, or flipping the bird at .Gov rules, but you can murder at will with no financial penalty, free room and board.

      1. Bonnie Henry said that? Guess I missed it.

I’m no fan of Henry, Hinshaw orTam. They have way to much influence. The politicos need to take back the narrative

        1. I think I saved the clip on my other computer. I’ll see if I kept the thing and post it for you. Back when the Paiutes were finally off the nightly news and COVID was heating up at Vancouver International.

  4. Angry Adolf’s bought and paid for loyal media are upset this morning that two or three indians have the China virus in Manitoba. Will this white, colonial, genocide of indians never stop???

  5. President Donald Trump compared his downplaying of the coronavirus to the actions of the great leaders of World War II, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, to calm their nations in a new defense of not telling the truth about the pandemic.

At a campaign rally in Michigan Thursday night, Trump defended himself after coming under fire when revelations in Bob Woodward’s upcoming book ‘Rage’ showed he privately acknowledged the dangers of COVID while publicly telling Americans the situation was under control.

Trump argued he was trying not to cause panic – a theme he kept up Thursday night, this time comparing himself to Roosevelt and Churchill, who became icons for their leadership in the United States and the United Kingdom during the war with Nazi Germany.

    1. What is it about “gender reveal” parties and explosives or firearms? Is it a celebration that the father wasn’t shooting blanks or something?

In the case of Mr. Kaboom, he might be lucky if he can even get a round into the chamber, let alone pull the trigger.

  6. Showcase network has begun advertising it’s mini series glorifying James Comey and what he did, which will begin airing later this month. All star cast, great production values, appears a first class production. Talk about lipstick on a pig….someone has spent a great deal of money to spread what is demonstrably a bunch of crap. Quite the coincidence it is airing right before the election.

    1. No coincidence. Here’s what’s up:
      https://youtu.be/3cfYF01IyuI

The mistake the media is making is that everything is so relentlessly targeted against Trump that at some point people just stop paying attention. The Atlantic article was the last straw for me.

  7. An enemy of Canada has died. Johnnie chretien has checked out.

Wonder how this might affect china relations with the bong?

      1. Confirmed by the Red Star, or at least the headline from it that came up in my Internet search.

  8. Toronto media is excited that “muslim fest” went ahead today despite the China virus. Great interview with the Ontario NDP leader at the site as she explained that Islam is a religion of love, Islamophobia is running rampant, and Ford is Hitler or something. She didn’t stay around for the Kill A Jew event and missed the ever popular caning of an adulterous woman.

  9. Just saw a comment on Conservative Treehouse that there was a massive anti-mask protest march in Montreal yesterday. Apparently lots of Trump 2020 flags and U.S.A chants. Did anyone see anything about this in our Canadian MSM? Probably not. apologies I don’t have the link but did see twitter feeds where people were amazed that Canadians in Montreal were supporting Trump. I know you tech savvy folks out there will find it, amazing! Maybe Quebec is good for something after all!

    1. I think media is deliberately downplaying anything opposing masks. I believe they think they are being responsible. Just the opposite. Glad to know about the protest. We need more.
