      I think it’s called the soft bigotry of low expectations. “it’s as good a film as you’re going to get from a person of colour; after all, it’s not like they can compete with us superior people.”

      1. Look at it this way: it’s guarantees that Hollywood will be busy for the next few years. All those classic movies that we saw and grew fond of have to be “corrected” and re-made to reflect the reality of modern diversity, gender balance, and racial harmony.

        It’s already started with Jane Bond. I’m sure a “Dirty Harriet” series of movies will soon be in the works. Think of how all of those John Wayne movies will be after being “re-booted”.

        We will be endlessly entertained for decades to come. As for all those original movies, well, they’ll just have to go into the scrap bin, won’t they?

            They have, look at the marriage rate and the fertility rate and the single mother rate, and you will realize that men have checked out of society.     1. Ed, I read the item and not once did I see the HCQ cocktail mentioned. Maybe I missed it. Tens of thousands of patients have been helped and thousands of doctors have effectively used it. I take several vitamin supplements one of which is vitamin D.

      2. Talking about differences across the border, I had been wondering, do you get a different spelling dictionary?
        Is “color” or “colour” marked as incorrect on your side of the border?

        1. The last time my computer was “updated” the US spelling now shows colour as being spelled incorrectly and other words in Queens English are now spelled “wrong” according to spell check. Words such as cheque now require check.

          1. I was reminded by Mike T below that if you use Windows, you can add another language, and choose that as the default for your computer, instead of United States English. There are about ten different versions of English to choose from, among them Canadian and United Kingdom.

  6. How shallow and unbiased are the North American media? Well a story at True North reports on how Angry Adolf’s CBC had more stories on his hair and funny socks than on Liberal MP scandals. And now Fox News reports on how a Washington Post journalist praised Heels Up Harris’s choice of shoes. Plus we have the current nonstop coverage in the North American media of Trump downplaying the China virus. They ignored and continue to ignore Angry Adolf and Peking Tam saying the virus was low risk to Canadians, masks are unnecessary, flights from China continued, and the public health agency was totally unprepared.

    1. Many will remember her as Emma Peel and today’s generation will recognize her from “Game of Thrones.” I loved her as Helena Vesey in “Mother Love.” I recall reading a review at the time calling the series, fittingly, “Smother Love.”

      I read “Abelard and Heloise” at university and remember the professor telling us about Diana Rigg and Keith Mitchell playing the lovers on Broadway and their shocking nude love scene. I couldn’t help but picture Rigg as Heloise as I read.

There is a story in the news today about a cottage party resulting in 40 infections and daycare closures, etc. The story originates with a presentation given by Dr. Vera Etches to Ottawa Council. Media, including the CBC seems very alarmed, but as far as I can tell, she uses the story as an example, does not say where it happened or when. Doing a bit of research, I believe it may have happened back in July. It is a fair example of potential transmission patterns, but I also think increased immunity over time needs to be looked at. Also it is an example of media scare mongering. Every last case seems to garner headlines of “cases”, even though cases are way down from several months ago and far fewer deaths at this point.     1. Excellent article. We need a similar analysis of the data in Canada, but that will never happen because the results would undermine the official narrative, fully endorsed by the mainstream media, that we need more government controls and billions more in government spending.

Former finance minister Bill Morneau has been fined three hundred dollars for breaking the election rules in regards to promoting Liberal candidates at taxpayer expense. No word on whether he will use the old excuse, I’m entitled to my entitlements.

  24. I think I finally figured out what the Biden campaign is doing. It is called peremptory strike.
    They are making ridiculous accusations on what should be Trump’s best talking points. It doesn’t matter they are all lies. Just like “Russia” and “some white supremacists are fine people”, they are keeping the meme going despite it. They want to take away from Trump the ability to take credit for his best achievements.
    The New York City metropolitan area has been worst hit by the Wuhan Flu. At one point around April when it peaked, it accounted for almost half of the country’s cases and deaths, with less than 5% of the population. Obviously the Democratic governor and/or Democratic mayor really blew that one. So what does di Blasio do? Accuse Trump. If Trump just denies the accusation, or even makes a counter accusation, to the casual uninformed voter it just seems like a he said he said situation.
    That stupid Atlantic article out of the blue, manufactured out of whole cloth, claims Trump said dead American soldiers buried in France were suckers. The rank and file in the Armed Forces love Trump as much as they hated Obama. They know that Trump has their back. has increased defensive spending to rebuild the Armed Forces. He has made our so-called NATO allies pay their agreed upon fair share. He has had successful peace offensives, instead of sacrificing soldiers in interminable wars with no American interest involved, like the previous four globalist presidents did. But no matter how much testimony from people who were there that the accusation was not true, again, that accusation is out there, just like we never got rid of “Russia” or “fine people.”
    And the latest was a Biden ad with supposedly a steel worker who voted for Trump in 2016, but will not this year, because he didn’t fulfill his promise to the steel workers. Let alone the facts are just the opposite. Trump’s policies (higher tariffs on foreign steel, tax inducements for reopening steel mills) has caused long closed steel mills to reopen, and brought thousands of jobs back to what had been derisively referred to as the Rust Belt.
    I don’t know what I would do against such attacks, but I sure hope Trump has more up his sleeve than just plain denial. Some sort of counterattack to blow up the whole scheme is needed.

    So when does Truth, Justice, and the American way start to kick in and bring some of these reprobates in front of a Citizens Court of Deplorables. If the lid isn’t blown off this attempted coup before the election then the last four years of Trump’s administration will never be recorded in history as America’s Finest Hour because the Democrats will bury it in a lead-lined sarcophagus somewhere in the Marianna Trench after they usurp the election.
