A collaboration between a Chinese company and a Halifax research team aiming to carry out Canada’s first clinical trials of a potential COVID-19 vaccine has been abandoned amid rising tensions between the two countries.
The partnership between the National Research Council of Canada and CanSino Biologics was announced by the federal government in May.
A team at the Canadian Centre for Vaccinology at Dalhousie University was supposed to work with CanSino to run the first Canadian clinical trials for a possible COVID-19 vaccine. CanSino’s vaccine, called Ad5-nCoV, was already being run through human trials in China and has shown promising results.
Mr. Halerin was disappointed that he could not test out the new surveillance technology for Dear Leader.

I looked into CanSino. It’s a curious company. It’s been around for nearly a decade, and has no products. This is typical for young pharma companies, but their research profile is really atypical. I know a little bit about pharmaceutical companies from several years spent in medical marketing and communications, including several projects with a startup that’s still around, but never took off.
Generally speaking, a company like this wouldn’t be a first choice for developing a vaccine in response to an epidemic. Usually, you’d go to a company that is more mature, and actually has the infrastructure for producing and packaging the product. Also, you’d try to find a company with products that has published more.
This was a way of dumping money into a friendly company, and anything that emerges from this should be viewed with a great deal of skepticism and caution.
No wonder Trudeau wants another election. This mess might well blow the “WE” scandal out of the water. The question not being asked is which members, on the government benches, were paid a ton of money to forge this partnership?
The research for this vaccine between the (Canadian) National Research Council (NRC) and the Chinese Communist Party CanSino Biologics uses a cell line developed by the NRC from aborted baby cells. I am very pro-vaccine, but under no circumstances will I be inoculated by any product so derived. Period, full stop.
The Trudeau government, which funds this research, was well aware of the tainted cell origins of this research, and fully aware that tens of thousands of Canadians would reject such a vaccine. Yet they plunged ahead, funding this research. There are promising alternative non-abortion tainted cell lines being used to research a vaccine, but Trudeau’s government went with the NRC/CanSino research. This is a failure of good public policy by this Liberal government.
I will never accept a vaccine tested on human beings with no attention paid to ethics. I am very glad this “partnership” died. BTW, do we get our money back? har har har.

This leaves 118, 879 Folks who had COVID 19 and have COMPLETELY recovered and are now immune. So it seems to me that 99% of those that were afflicted survived and as such should be immune to this bug….then why are we looking at mandatory vaccination of 37,000,000 for this joke of a bug..??
Yes people died, but I would argue more folks die of alcohol poisoning, car crashes, heart attacks, falling off flippin ladders than this massively POLITICIZED bug.
We’ve had H1N1, Hong Cong Flu, SARS etc. and each one killed more humans that this one.

There are two possibilities, either this whole project was a scam from day #1 or it was actually a success and the chicoms no longer need the money from the cottage coward. Why in He!! is the National Research Council involved with these commies in the first place,we need to end our association with that country ASAP.
Meanwhile a Canadian group in Saskatoon has a great potential vaccine with very promising results but they have gotten a total of 21 million and they are stymied by lack of funding. When you consider what our glorious leader has pissed away on his buddies, it is especially a crime not just against Canadians but against western Canadians in particular.
Why the hell should tax dollars go to fund this Saskatoon vaccine? If it’s so good then they can raise the money from private investors. If not let it die.
As has been stated on other posts, if they need money, they just print it, they no longer need to tax us.
They blew the budget before the Covid, and they’ve really blown a giant wad since. I’m sure the Turd got his “Vig”. We have the ability to print all the money we/they would ever need, so taxing the Canadian public is no longer needed. in fact, with the logic he uses, we no longer need to work at all, they can now pay us all a decent income, and nobody will ever need to work again. Of course, before you object, we will also need to let in all the illegal aliens (whoops, did I just write that?) to do all the chores for us, and Turd can pay them a living wage as well, but then we’ll need to import more “no longer illegal aliens” to do the chores for the first bunch, but this is starting to get confusing, perhaps we need to leave the logistics to dear leader, I’m sure he has it all figured out /s
