O, Sweet Saint Of San Andreas

Hear my prayer.

I’ll admit that the idea of millennials being stranded because the thingie on their phone won’t bring them an instant car ride appeals to me.

  1. What about all the out-of-work taxi drivers who had the value of their licenses destroyed? How do you feel sympathy for Uber drivers with absolutely no investment, other than some miles on their personal cars?
    Congratulations, you’ve just been disrupted.

What’s the annual fee for a taxi licence ?
What does it cost for the privilege to pay that annual fee ?

      Bonus question:
In which country do doctors drive cabs to make extra cash ?

    2. So you favour pay-for-play monopolies and kickback schemes? That’s what taxi licensing is.

      1. No, it’s just kinda harsh to change the rules in the middle of the game. The city should refund everyone who paid money for a cab plate.

        1. fully agreed. If you’ve paid for a monopoly (or limited competition) and the government can’t provide that monopoly, then you should get a refund.

Maybe they could move to Kebek and become dairy farmers?

  2. You want a ride from a professional, courteous driver in a roadworthy car at 3am when you’re stumbling drunk? Be prepared to hire a professional cab driver from a reputable firm and pay through the nose.

If you have the money for $14 cocktails you can afford to pay a white man a living wage to put up with your “tired and emotional” self for as long as it takes to get you home to daddy.

Or you can stagger home on foot. Good luck with that.

If the problem is that Ubers are “unsafe” or their drivers “unprofessional,” easy fix for that. I’ve believed for a long time that thugs and Mohammedans should not be allowed to own cars at all, never mind drive cabs. When I am king, no thug or Mohammedan will be allowed to own a motorized vehicle worth more than its value as scrap.

    1. Where do you live, Santayana? Out here, the taxi industry is controlled by incomers, and not from Europe either.

  3. All hail King Santayanas ghost. Your last sentence has won my approval, hands down! Good for you to have the gonads to Express what others are feeling but too much of a snowflake to voice it,

    1. yes hoz, all mooselimbs bad, all kristians good, even those pedophile priests. Some assholes in here always are all or nothingers , no middle ground, and santayana’s strappon is one of those assholes.

  4. I had to look at the date on this video because this bomb dropped months ago. I don’t understand how Californians keep getting surprised about major stupid policy things that I know about and I’m not remotely interested in their state. Same thing happened with the policy to cut power during high winds. People were surprised when it happened yet it was announced (and mocked) months before.

  5. I’m disappointed the Appeals Court ordered a stay. It would have been a nice big boost for PDJT … to watch and listen to all the weeping and gnashing of teeth over the sudden shut down of UBER. No way to somehow make PDJT responsible for more CA supermajority Marxism. Perhaps my fellow Californians would finally figure out that the Dems are destructive and dangerous.

Nahhhhh … this State will still Vote Deep BLUE across the board. Esp. in Silicon Valley.

  6. Sure this will hit Uber and Lyft. But that was the point. However, unintended consequences follow those who act without thinking. Guess what this will do to the film industry in California?

  7. It appears that union thuggery trumps green theocracy in California. Without ride sharing, how many more vehicles will be required, clogging the freeways more, burning more gas and diesel.
