As I contended in Ball of Collusion, my book on the Trump-Russia investigation, the target of the probe spearheaded by the FBI — but greenlighted by the Obama White House, and abetted by the Justice Department and U.S. intelligence agencies — was Donald Trump. Not the Trump campaign, not the Trump administration. Those were of interest only insofar as they were vehicles for Trump himself. The campaign, which the Bureau and its apologists risibly claim was the focus of the investigation, would have been of no interest to them were it not for Trump.
Or do you suppose they moved heaven and earth, surreptitiously plotted in the Oval Office, wrote CYA memos to cover their tracks, and laboriously sculpted FBI reports because they were hoping to nail . . . George Papadopoulos?

You keep seeing references to John Durham relative to any expected Justice. As is usual with this administration, that’s not the US Attorney you should be watching. It’s misdirection. Keep your eye on US Attorney John Bash instead. Bash was brought into the investigation very, very quietly. His focus is on the voluminous un-maskings that were carried out by the Obama administration. That, of course, ties into just about every facet of the case(s) from FISA Class A Warrant violations right down to unjustified surveillance. Bash clerked under Anton Scalia and is solid. The fact that no one is talking about him (especially Barr) should be a hint.

The “problem” for the investigators , is that all the known evidence points directly to Obama running a coup against an incoming and then sitting President. I vividly remember Obama (the day he left office) using the word RESIST in a comment and thought it inappropriate .. turns out it was far more than inappropriate.

You have to read between the lines. Barr, in a recent interview, said that Durham’s investigation was not focusing on the the very top echelon of the the Obama administration. Weasel words. Durham is not the US Attorney assigned to that aspect of the case. Bash is. Jensen partially is.
Initially, it was my position that Strzok would be the highest they would go in the hierarchy for an indictment. I’ve changed my position to include Comey, Brennan, Rice and Clapper. Maybe Powers. I doubt they will go any higher than that. I, agree, that they won’t go after Obama or Biden directly. BUT, indictments on a significant part of their cabinet implies guilt by association, or the lesser implication of total incompetence. Can you think of a better punishment for someone like Obama? Always known as the incompetent…personal self-preservation would force him to accept that label.
The other reason they brought in these outside US Attorneys is for jurisdiction and to get any potential indictments out of the DC Circuit Court. For the first 3 years of the Trump administration the “Deep State” had US Attorney Jessica Liu serving as gatekeeper. She would plea deal all the damaging cases (Wolfe, Anwan, etc). She would push all the anti-Trump cases. So they tossed her over to the Treasury department so she couldn’t do that anymore. Let me give you an example. Wolfe released 83 photo pages of the un-redacted Carter Page warrant application to Ali Watkins (reporter who took it to the NYT’s). Blatant release of confidential information…but it was left out of the plea deal. Now, compare that to Reality Winner…the former intelligence officer who removed confidential information and sent to press. She was tried down in Georgia…and got the stiffest sentence ever for such an effort.
As we are now seeing with the Flynn case, the gatekeeper is no longer in place (Liu) so they are resorting to using the DC Circuit Court itself as the gate. It’s their last line of defense. Those on the DC Circuit in the pocket of Lawfare know this.. Hence the recent announcement of an en banc on Flynn’s case.
It’s crunch time. For the first time, I think there will be significant indictments. Convictions is another story. But, it will be fun to see the press go crazy trying to justify the behavior of their champions. As is standard, they will over do it in a comical fashion.

Well said. I also believe most know Obama and Biden are untouchable , especially Obama , but as you pointed out . They (Obama & henchmen) have prosecuted innocent Trump players using the court system , where the punishment is the process … ultimate irony that Obama will fall victim to a similar process.

Boasberg is one of the good eggs on the Court. He’s a GWB nominee….but there are more Clinton and Obama nominees on that Court. He’s the one that ordered the release of Clinton’s emails and dismissed the Trump Tax Returns case.
Re to how high this will go, I think if a few were to be threatened with being hung by the neck until dead, Obama and Biden would be implicated forthwith.

No, Brennan doesn’t have security clearance any more. Just read this week (and he tweeted about it too) that they/Trump didn’t tell him they had pulled it. He found out recently while trying to look at classified into while writing his autobiography — and couldn’t get access to it. Of course he went ballistic, thinks it’s so unjust, etc. , etc.
Jailing Obama would make him a martyr unless his full history is verified and made public first. Where is his birth certificate? College grades and nationality? Trip to Pakistan? Etc. After this unmasking, whether or not to indict will be more clear (and probably moot).
