Standing Up Against the Mob

Briones Bedell is an overly woke 17 year old who lives in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay area. In her infinite lack of wisdom she decided that the beloved Trader Joe’s supermarket chain was a haven for racist wrong-think. So she launched this online petition against them. It has been running for 3 weeks and hasn’t even achieved the paltry 7,500 signatures she was looking for. Yet the MSM went wild with Fake News after Fake News after Fake News, all claiming that the company was bowing to the pressure and would be changing the names of some of its food products.

Even Wikipedia got into the act, claiming this: “Until 2020, Trader Joe’s labels were sometimes named in accordance with the ethnicity of the food in question, such as “Trader Jose’s” (Mexican food), “Baker Josef’s” (flour and bagels), “Trader Giotto’s” (Italian food), “Trader Joe-San’s” (Japanese food), “Trader Ming’s” (Asian food), “JosephsBrau” (beer), and “Trader Jacques'” (French food and soaps).”

Undoubtedly the Leftist Woke Mob operates under the premise that if you tell a lie enough times then people will believe it. Thank goodness Trader Joe’s did not cave and published this.

  1. When I took German Language in middle school … the teacher gave me a “German name” … ‘Rolf’ … that I had to use in class. I should have sued, right? Then, I would be called a genius middle schooler by the wokeratti. Right?

    1. Hey Rolf, did your middle school start with the sixth grade? If so, you only started your second language two years after my fourth grade. Can I talk about a team led by a German?
Actually, no. I want to talk about the team that our American forward is playing on.
What the heck is Chelsea doing? They have the third best goal scoring in EPL. Three of their key players are 22 or under. (Yes, Mount is only an attacking midfielder, not a forward.) Their old man Giroud has really come on after the break. It looks like Willan is probably going to be the odd man out. But with Abraham and Pulisic it looks like their offense is going to be set for a long time.
So what did they do? They signed the second leading goal scorer in Bundesliga Werner. Great. He can replace Giroud, who is 33 and won’t play the whole time. Then they signed Ziyech from Ajax, who’s been their second leading scorer. Well, I guess Ziyech can fit in if he’s willing to forego being a regular starter, but he expects to get his minutes. And the rumor is they are leading for Harvetz, who is Leverkeusen’s leading scorer. What are they going to do with him? I mean at this point, they have seven starters for the frontline, not counting Mount. How are they going to keep them all happy?
In the meantime, they are tied for 11th in goals conceded. That is, in the bottom half of the league. They have conceded 21 more than Liverpool, and 19 more than City. And what are they doing about it? Not a thing so far. Maybe they’ll play 3-2-4-1, and hope to outscore the other guys. And Mount will be one of the 2.

      1. I really HOPE that Pulisic has PROVEN to Lampard that he … IS … the absolute replacement of Hazard. A simply sublime playmaker who also scores in every way imaginable. His post-COVID season probably deserved “The Golden COVID Boot”. I have to look up the stats, but he must have led in both goals and assists!? I fear that Lampard sees Pulisic as too small, and not durable enough for the task. But he reminds me of David Silva … a “sleight” ball handling magician who has proven more than durable for the English game.

Alonso is DONE. He no longer has the pace, nor the guile to deal with the games best wingers. Azpilicueta is rock solid … after that? Rebuild the back. And Kepa … “the great” ? He’s a head case who needs a dedicated team psychiatrist to keep him “centered”. He is proving to somewhat come and go … like de Gea has been doing recently.

On one hand, I appreciate Lampard’s dedication to building an attacking team. That is so much better on the eye, than the bus-parking alternative. However, it’s not as though he needs a template upon which to solidify a successful attacking team … duh! Liverpool has provided the definitive guide to winning … buy the world’s best available central defender. That’s all. Simply buy a player like Virgil van Dijk! Mission accomplished. Virgil is universally credited as the single player responsible for Liverpool’s transformation.

It appears as though Chelsea has LOTS of £££ to burn … and is going to challenge the top 6 teams in £££ spent on players. Any players. Random players.

All I care about? Don’t f()ck with Pulisic! He may become one of the greatest number 10’s in the history of the game! He is such a joy to watch. Don’t screw with him, Lampard!

I watched what Pulisic did in the second half against my Liverpool. I guess I cannot ask for a better result. Liverpool destroys Chelsea. And then Pulisic comes in late, actually the whole front line was changed, and Pulisic **almost** singlehandedly brought Chelsea back against the best defense in the league. First he dribbled past FOUR Reds into the penalty area, then gave a perfect pass to Abraham, and all the latter had to do was put it into the net. The first Red he dribbled past was Alexander-Arnold. Then he got the ball in the penalty area facing away from the goal, with Alexander-Arnold defending. And he nearly put A-A on the ground by his moves and scored a clean goal. Talking about breaking ankles in basketball. And he did twice in like ten minutes against the best wing defender in the universe. (Even though I admit it is more for A-A’s offense, but I have never seen anyone played A-A like that.) This was when A-A was having just a great game before Pulisic came in.
And Pulisic still sat the next game, IIRC.
To change the subject on you again, I just happened onto this man’s bio. His name was Shen Kuo, and he lived in the North Sung dynasty. Now he would be a true Renaissance man, except he predated Michelangelo by 444 years. Call him the herald of the Renaissance. He was truly incredible. He succeeded in everything he touched. Technology: he made the compass useful by figuring out the difference between true north and magnetic north. He turned a hundred thousand acres of swamp land into prime farm land. And by his descriptions, you can say he reinvented canal locks, dry docks, movable type, and camera obscura. Because of him, these technologies came to be used. Foreign relations: He was uniquely successful in negotiating a favorable treaty in his embassy to the militarily superior Liao kingdom to the north. And where others’ embassy failed, he successfully commanded the defending army. Mathematics: he first solved different geometry and trig problems, and predated Pascal’s triangle. Civil engineering: recognizing natural climate change. Building dikes against the flood. Turning silt into fertilizer. Engaging in really meaningful conservation, including using petroleum rather than bamboo shoot. In that he may be the most prescient, he thought petroleum was “produced inexhaustibly within the earth”. Which it truly was. Remember, all these accomplishments were before 1100 A.D., most were before William conquered England.
There were others almost too trivial to mention for him, but in one area the accomplishment was forced on him. The arts: circumstances forced his retirement from palace intrigue, and he devoted his time to the four arts: calligraphy, painting, music, and go, augmenting his devotion with poetry, tea, and wine.
I have to confess I have never even heard his name, and I am weaker in Sung history than Tang, so I have no idea how successful he was at those latter devotions. But I have no doubt being steeped in them in the culture, surely he was much more successful than your humble servant.
The only blemish is that being influenced by his time, he was too immersed in palace intrigue, and at least once had a severe violation of trust with a person whom he considered a political enemy. He paid for that later, which was the cause of his forced retirement.
No matter, how many live times of ordinary men did he manage to live?

          1. I now will forever imagine you stroking your long fu-man-chu chin hair while enjoying the company of the “nine guests” (九客, jiuke).

  2. Oh to be so miserable when she is so young. She needs to focus on getting a prom date and getting laid like a normal teenager. Stop wasting your youth on activism. Plenty of time for that when when your old.

  3. Imagine a country where majority rules and profit based marketing is the rule instead of the exception. That country still appears to exist, for now, just south of post national UN pledged Mo Strong founded progressive virtue soaked territory of Beaver Pelt. Good job at keeping a backbone Trader Joe’s!

  4. The Trumper has the Resist & obstruct Democrats right where he wants them…

He wants to open the Schools… The Teachers Unions say No….Who needs a Union for Non-Employees?
That leaves the Schools with Room Sitters @ $15 per Hr with a Virtual session & instruction to keep the Youths busy (one taped Class presentation & Multiple Users)… Huge savings & improved education…..
The University/College degree can be ordered from a Stationary Store on-line…. The networking is eliminated & no Student Debt for useless drivel from an over-the-Hill PhD.

Trump suggests that Congress COULD delay the Election….The Democrats must say NO and push poor Joe out in front of his Alamo… They will Burn/Loot/ & declare Chapter 11… Cities become Shit-Holes because Trump wants something …..

  5. This on the heels of the Red Bull owner telling its top level “Woke” masterminds to pack their sh*t and leave.
Could be a trend. Naaaaaa…that’s crazy talk.

  6. “…an attempt to have fun with our product marketing.”

Fucking heathens. Didn’t anyone inform them that “fun” is not permitted in our new Socialist Utopia?

  7. Good on Trader Joes and Red Bull. Neither of whom I purchase from… I Fully support companies with some cojonnes..!! As opposed to the meek: Redskins, Eskimos and pretty much every Pro sports team on the planet.

I tried to watch a bit of hockey last night. yea, not happening – With no Fans in the stands it may as well have been virtual reality.
    Call it off already.
    It’s embarrassing.

    1. “Good on Trader Joe’s and Red Bull. Neither of whom I purchase from…”
I don’t think that would be unusual for this board. That is what makes their stance so incredible. Both of them cater to people who would agree with the name changes. They serve what we used to call yuppies. We didn’t realize how good we had it. The yuppies just did their silly things without forcing everyone else to follow. And gays, like they said, really just did it behind closed bedroom doors and were content if no one else bothered them.
Now that they have successfully normalized them, they want to normalize the next thing: B(urning) L(ooting) M(urdering)
