  1. You’ll know the US has turned the corner when such a resolution passes unanimously, once anybody who would consider voting against it is where he belongs (viz. in hell, prison or exile).

  2. This isn’t mischief. It’s out and out stupidity. It allows those most willing to avoid discussion and debate to trivialize the right by pointing out that they aren’t a serious party ideology representative of substance. No discussion or debate is necessary to take Gohmert’s grandstanding and dismiss without even considering his point(s).

I smell one of his advisors on this, Connie Hair. She used to do the same to Alan Keyes until he was no longer taken seriously. When was the last time you heard of him? You’d think a black solid conservative would have a lot to say in today’s climate. Nope, no where to be found…because he was written off as a kook…courtesy of nonsense like this.

    1. Quit clutching your pearls Orson, Gohmert is fighting by the Democrats’ rules, which are Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.
Hoisting them by their own petard.

    2. You’re wrong of course.
This is Gohmert very effectively doing pure Alinsky.
Rule 4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

Anyone who hasn’t read “Rules for Radicals” by Alinsky is utterly uneducated.

    3. Orson is just upset that we are all laughing at him. He has no defense against satire.

  3. Classic.

Now the general topic has been broached by the GOP, maybe they can push for black reparations to all whites for the thousands who gave their lives to free them.

  4. So Orson,

In your considered opinion Gohmert is grandstanding and the Democrats aren’t hypocritical?

    Really?!

    1. Gohmert is most definitely grandstanding. Democrats and their make up (which is a vast listing of special interest groups aka one trick ponies) are most definitely hypocritical…I never said any different. But, consider how they behave. They avoid debate. They avoid valid discussion. Examples would be climate change (the science is non-debatable in their opinion), safe spaces (to avoid debate), isms phobes and the like thrown out at anyone to avoid debate and discussion. Trigger warnings (to avoid debate or discussion)…

And this brainless idiot gets up and suggests that the entire Democrat party should be outlawed. Do you honestly think such outlandish suggestions (and it is outlandish regardless of what you think of the party) promotes any critical thinking on the left? Instead it gives them more encouragement to continue down the same road.

Where in God’s name did you get the impression that I thought the Democrats weren’t hypocritical? All I’m saying is that I think Gohmert’s cheap theatrics aren’t beneficial or constructive….and I smell one of his unhinged advisors involved in this.

      1. “And this brainless idiot gets up and suggests that the entire Democrat party should be outlawed. Ya its so stupid and outlandish. No one would take it seriously. It’s about as stupid as someone saying we should defund the police. Or suggesting a governor would intentionally send the Coronavirus infected into nursing homes. Or making a wife abusing drug addicted child abandoning felon a national hero. Those things would never happen. Ya, way too outlandish.

      2. Agree with Orson. The topic isn’t funny and deserves better. A few may have found it humerous, but it went no where in regard to making people change their minds; nor will it make people take him seriously going forward.

      3. No, he didn’t say the Democrat party should be outlawed. He said any ITEMS that refer to racist political parties or politicians should be removed, and any political organization or party (and only the Democrats fit this description) that had ever held a public position that supported slavery or the Confederacy must CHANGE IT’S NAME.

        Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

      4. “And this brainless idiot gets up and suggests that the entire Democrat party should be outlawed”.

Oh dear, it’s a metaphorical exaggeration device, there is no way the Democrat party can be shut down. It’s probably not easily understood by literal people or those with English as a second language. It speaks to the utter hypocrisy of the US left.
When you understand that you might be ready for the rest of the left’s Operations Manual.
We can use them with equal effect, in fact I believe they are the best blueprint to attack the left.
        Louis understands stuff you don’t.

        The Rules for Radicals:
“Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have. Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. ‘Have-Nots’ must build power from flesh and blood.”
“Never go outside the expertise of your people.”
“Whenever possible go outside the expertise of the enemy.”
“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.”
“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”
“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”
        “Keep the pressure on.”
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself. Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.”
“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.”
“If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside. Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.”
“The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”

      5. Rhetoric vs dialectic, sunshine. Learn what they are and how to tell the difference. Hint: Gohmert was engaging in rhetoric, because there’s no point using dialectic with the left, they operate purely on rhetoric.

  5. On the topic of reparations, Scott Adams posed this brilliant question:

How much do I owe Oprah?

  6. This could well be a lesson of history on the forum of the country that recent generations have no idea about.
It could be expected that those that pay attention will learn what the so called “Democrats” are about from history to today..
It needed to be said and it is needed to be repeated often so more of the useless generations learn about where freedom comes from and who is it that is in opposition to freedom.
A rather smart way to insert historical fact to the recent and present generations.
It’s just sad that very few will learn from that, though it may be a seed of discovery for many.

  7. As I like to point out to the various trolls who stop in. At least John Cross made an effort. Please, this blog deserves at least that.

  8. This would be mischief if the man could read. How did this guy ever get elected?

  9. Hell, I have said the democrat party is full of dangerous morons and the party should be eliminated to the last man and I wasn’t kidding.

  10. Perfect gesture. Make the left live by their own rules. I can’t believe there are still people who just don’t seem to understand the era we are living in.
Not to mention that many are still assuming anybody with a Southern accent must be stupid.

  11. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I mentioned to someone at work that the KKK was the arm of the Democrat party, that they were the party of slavery, Jim Crow, etc., and that the Republican party freed the slaves. His response? Oh, well they’ve just switched positions on everything now.

  12. I was talking to an American woman that always votes Democrat. I said that it was Republicans who abolished slavery. She replied”Yes but the Republicans and Democrats have switched sides since then. The Republicans were the Progressives in the 1800’s.
And that’s just the way the Regressive mind rolls.

    1. The ultimate put-down, for anything those of closed mind disagree with, refuse to discuss and refuse to think about: “Yabbut…”
