        I am anti-Antifa and pro-police but that doesn’t mean that there are not legitimate concerns about the militarization of the police and the mind set that such equipment imbues. Riot control gear during riot control or prevention seems perfectly acceptable but put the police in military armored vehicles and camo makes them look like occupiers to us and makes us look like occupied people to them.

          1. They were pretty restrained as far as I saw. And they looked like the national guard? Can’t say for sure.

          2. They had police badges over the uniforms, see for example around 25th second. Also the boutique weapon kit says SWAT not guard. No uniformity in their loadout, looks like they were allowed to raid the armory and pick up whatever the coolest toys they always wanted to play with. But yes, they were professional and restrained.

  8. Why wasn’t the camera critter arrested for jaywalking? She would not stop walking on the street. She did not proceed to the nearest cleared pedestrian zone, instead she chose to walk back and forth on a public street, putting herself (and passing vehicles) in danger.

    If the police really want to stop Antifa types, arrest or ticket them on small items just to get them out of the way. Those that are ticketed 50 times in 2 or 3 days are your high level useful idiots. How to proceed from there can depend on whether they appear to learn anything, or double-down.

If you behave like a squirrelly, out of control lunatic who physically resists authority you can expect them to treat you like a squirrelly, out of control lunatic. The woman with the camera was a pain in the ass but more or less kept her distance as the police requested and things were very cool. I don’t know why this is so complicated for some people.
