    1. Never equate that the expertise of the experts cited has any relation to the issue.

      Examples
      Citing Hollywood celebrities on political issues
      Citing Elizabeth May on climate science
      Citing Justin Trudeau on ethics
      Citing Bill Clinton on fidelity
      Citing David Frum on anything regarding conservatives
      Citing anyone at CBC about honest news reporting.

  6. The news outlets seldom identify any of their “experts”. Somehow I think they wouldn’t have as much influence once it was known who they are. From “everyone is an expert” to “anyone is an expert” just don’t mention a name.

      Their entire raison d’etre, so to speak, is having “solutions” for which they must identify “problems”.

  8. When I was young growing up in the U.S., there were two large press wire services: the Associated Press and the United Press International. Both wrote decently objective news copy way back then in the 1950s and 1960s, and competing newspapers in any given city would use one or the other. But in the last decades the UPI went into decline, and now serves only a few readers, mostly overseas. Now the AP has has a virtual monopoly, and has gone completely woke-PC, as in this poorly-written article. And the AP is running full-scale war against Donald Trump

    1. The Toronto Star makes the Washington Post and NYT look unbiased and even handed with Trump compared to the Liberal Party Newsletter drivel they publish daily.

      They also own 1/3 of Canadian Press, which explains a lot.

    1. “Gee, good job, I’ll vote Dem this November”.
    2. “Gee, these guys are nutjobs, I’ll vote DJT this November”.
    3. “I’m leaving”.

I am betting that police, knowing no-one has their back are responding to violence in the inner cities in slow motion. They are coming to squeegee up the results without becoming involved.

  14. Once the police are replaced by young social workers fresh out of college, things I’m sure will be much better. And more basketball courts, we need more basketball courts.

      The majority of Canadians are.
      They watch the news and believe it all. They have no ability to reason for themselves.
      What percentage of voters thought green/ndp/liberal was a good idea?
      How many believe this shut down of the economy will save more lives (due to Covid) then it takes ?
      How many believe man made climate change is significant?
      How many believe gun control actually about reducing gun crime let alone actually achieve that aim?

      The average Canadian is blissfully unaware and get angry should you disagree with their opinion on any of the above.

    They want Donald Trump to send the military into their cities so that they can howl about him being a dictator who used the military.
    And they want a white person to snap and kill a bunch of people while defending themself so they can howl about racism even more.

    Last week the Democrats sacrificed two black children who were shot and killed and they sacrificed two white women, one killed, the other in critical condition after being hit by the ‘luxury car’.
    They didn’t get the reaction that they wanted so they will escalate even further.
    Who will the Democrats sacrifice next week?

  31. Going through the channels last night and came upon a program called 48 Hours. It’s about police investigating murders. Every murder investigated was a black person. Most of the officers were black along with some of the detectives. One murdered woman epitomized the 72% of black single mothers. She had 5 children and her murderer sired 2 of them. It showed how scary it would be to be a police officer or just a citizen in the crime ridden American cities.

    We see that up here now with blacks just opening fire not caring in the least who is hit by their bullets. How can any BLM watch this and continue with their mantra of Black Lives Matter when it is obvious they don’t.

  32. It is dumb to quote anything newspapers say BECAUSE NO ONE BUYS PAPERS ANYMORE! Circulation is a fraction of what it once was and is in absolute freefall.

    Another newsprint mill closed this week in Ponderay, WA and this follows on Catalyst closing several newsprint mills in BC in June.

    I expect Postmedia to idle all printed media newspapers any time now. They have run out of cash and even Trudeau bailout money is not enough to keep them going.

    So why quote anything in the dead tree press? You are giving them relevance that the public has already discarded.
