just keep that ottawa-based printing press spinning
at warp 10. what do ink & paper cost, right jussie?

mark my words… your grandchildren will be paying
      off this liberal boondoggle.

      1. This deficit will be intergenerational, and if this marks the beginning of hyper gov’t debt for Canada, it only pushes me further to say Alberta and the other western provinces should separate and tell the east to fuck off.

I don’t believe one word the Liberals say. It’s all bullshit, all made up to suck in those who cannot think for themselves.

      2. Your grandchildren will have been sold off to pay for this Liberal boondoggle.

    2. I may have missed it , but what are the opinions here on Leslyn Lewis.. I personally am impressed with her .. She gets my vote.

      1. She could be the Conservative leader, but she will never be the PM. She does not have a chance in Quebec.

        1. The reason Turdeau got elected last time was because the 50 ridings around Toronto voted liberal. Subtract that total from the actual vote and Andrew Sheer would be Prime Minister now. Lewis has the potential to take several of those seats when running against Turdeau, she wil get a huge portion of the immigrant vote and that is a lot of votes from people who do actually vote in every election. Neither Otoole or Mac Cay could get elected dog catcher in those ridings and that would automatically hand the liberals the election.

          1. She’s too socially conservative, and honest about it. The “media” will drag her through the mud. She will never get elected anywhere near Toronto.

    3. Can I submit that it’s possible, because this is an estimate and not the actual number, they may want to inflate the actual spending so they can claim a “reduction” in the deficit later when the actual number is released.

Anything more than a balanced budget is spending beyond what is actual revenue.
      It’s all tax payer funded.

  1. This guy is going to be driven from office disgraced.

There’s just too much shit pilling up and coupled with his hubris at some point it is going to explode. Nobody is that good or that smart. For someone raised in the belly of politics he has no political sense.

    1. Not going to happen. The media and the bastards out east will continue to support him. The only way to get rid of him will be for the west to separate from the rest of this broken country. Fuck Canada. It’s dead to me.

    2. Canadians, by and large, are morons, the men castrated sheep and the women obnoxious little Karens. They won’t drive him from office disgraced. He’s exactly what this country deserves.

      1. Exactly. The mere thought of actually voting for someone with integrity and even a scintilla of knowledge is anathema to canadians. Just keep the welfare coming.
I’m with Lowebowski. Not only is canada dead to me, it is a dead country walking.

    3. Frankly it would be far better if the fiscal hammer gets dropped while he is still in office so it becomes historical record.
Insolvency would allow the slate to be wiped clean after the US does a Louisiana style acquisition of everything west of Ontario.

    4. I predict Trudeau will call an election for early September. Why this timing?

      a) polls show him ahead
      b) they know they won’t be able to spend their way through a second COVID wave.
      c) even if no second wave, the economy is in the toilet. The economic fallout will be too much for a minority government to bear.
      d) the conservatives will be in disarray with a new leader.

      1. joe, the cuckservatives are already in disarray, tank you berry much andy scheep!

  2. OK, he doesn’t have a brain and the Wizard is not going to fix him. Good God can the boy be any dumber?

    1. No, but he’s still donning the polish up at Harrington Lake every weekend pretending he’s Idris and Sophie still won’t let him touch her.

    2. That’s easy, we are still paying for Trudeau the elder, at some point the only way to get back in the black is to use the default option

      1. The federal government is currently printing $5-billion (Cdn) each week to “purchase” other bonds (like Gov’t of Newfoundland Bonds that no one else wants to buy.) This will only increase. It is only a matter of time, likely a few years, or a couple-percent rise in interest rates until this house-of-cards comes crashing down.

    1. Don’t ya know that all ya need is some ink. Money can be created out of thin air. No problem, man. What could possibly go wrong?
BTW… The Bank of Canada is already printing $5-billion per week (as of mid-June 2020).

  3. I can’t even concoct a joke about this very serious display of stupidity. Canada is the only G7 country to have lost its AAA rating. With around $387trillion in debt we rank right down there with the 3rd world. Our taxes will be crushing.

    1. Yes, but the taxes won’t go up until there is a responsible government elected. Then that future government (Conservative Party most likely) must raise taxes and cut spending to regain some semblance of fiscal management of the economy. Then the Liberal-friendly Media PILLORIES the government, and the Liberals get re-elected with an even larger majority. The RAPE of Alberta picks up again where it left off. The never-ending story of politics in Kanaduh. FREE SASKABERTA NOW !!!!!!

      1. The first step will be simply printing more cash. Rising taxes is voter poison.

        1. Do we get to chose the face on that One Hundred Billion (Deutschmark) Dollar bill ? I’m voting for Turd I and Turd II together since our currency will be worth shit.

        2. Out of control inflation is poison as well.
Especially those with private pension plans that are not indexed.
Those retired government worker, many don’t realize how good they have it. Lucky stiffs.
I retired at age 56 fifteen years ago with a company pension of $40,000/yr.
It was more than sufficient as I had no mortgage, house all paid off years earlier.
This pension is fixed, no yearly cost of living adjustments like civil servants get.
If I averaged a COL of 1.5% a year, my pension would be $50,000 this year.
As it is, luckily I have the OAS and CPP to take up the slack.

        3. He’ll raise GST; nobody will notice, probably 3% then 1/2% then another 1/2% Like the carbon tax which will be doubling again

          1. In the past year or so, I’ve noticed how my grocery bill has gone up, thanks to Dear Leader Prinz Dummkopf the Supremely Magnificent (Long May His Wisdom Shine Throughout The Ages) inflicted the various rounds of carbon theft–er, tax–upon us.

Each month, I withdraw spending money from the bank. Most of it I use for groceries and minor household expenses. In the past while, I’ve had to increase that amount by 25% if I wanted to make only one such withdrawal every month.

As a reward, last summer was a writeoff because it rained much of the time. This year is shaping up to be the same.

So, Mr. All-knowing, would you like to explain to me how taking more money out of my bank account has positively influenced the weather and kept that cretinous kid in Sweden happy?

      2. The taxes will skyrocket. More carbon tax. Elimination of capital gains tax. Higher marginal tax rate. Higher GST.
        And…
        And…
        Guess What…
THEY ARE GOING TO TAX YOU ON THE SALE OF YOUR OWN FLIPPING HOME!!!!

Family trusts, however, will not be touched.

We gotta get away from this socialist f@ckstorm while we can. Vive L’Alberta Libre!

        1. Chris – the betting in the accounting world has been that the present exemption on “profits” arising from the sale of one’s principal residence would end within five years because of the government’s profligacy, and that was before 2020. My guess is that it will come in within the next year or two.

Of course family trusts will be exempt; the PM and the Finance Minister both benefit from same.

I am old enough to remember when the capital gains tax was first introduced beginning 1st January, 1972. Later on, there was the “lifetime capital gains exemption” of $100,000 but that was ended by the Liberals in 1994. The common comment was that they ended same because they and all their buds had already taken the maximum so no benefit for them to continue same. Was doing taxes professionally by that time, and the whole thing was a nightmare.

          1. My broker has often wondered why I don’t sell off the investments I inherited from my father and start spending that money. I already paid through the nose in capital gains when I filed the tax return on my father’s estate, thank you very much. I’d like to keep my tax burden down until I’m finally done with settling that estate.

The capital gains exemption on selling one’s house won’t affect me as I inherited the one from my parents and since it’s not my principal residence, nor have I lived there for more than 40 years, the government will extract even more cash from me through my nostrils or, for that matter, any other convenient location on my body.

    2. Socially and culturally, we’re becoming the Third World, so why not have an economy to go along with it?

      1. We’ve got the U.S.A as our connected next door neighbour. It’ll never get Venezuela bad in Canada, but we could easily become an Argentina or maybe even a northern Mexico.

    1. Right. We could be come the Argentina of the north. A default ever 6 or 8 years doesn’t seem to hurt them. Why not try it. Or print money and finance with devaluated dollars. No need to increase taxes and fees.

    1. According to a news report a short while ago, a poll showed that the liberals are more popular now because of their handling of things in these dark times. So we are forked, they will get in again, FFS!! Yes, vote buying works. Too many moron voters.

  4. While Great Leader and his Bay St. finance minister are bragging about a 343 billion dollar deficit, they are currently looking to add to it with with billions for whiny indian child welfare services.

    1. His Bay ST. Finance Minister????

The useless twit (replace the i with something else if you like)
Rose all the way to the top of….daddy’s company.

What a hero. Idiot couldn’t manage a Subway restaurant (Unless daddy bought it for him and over financed it so junior wouldn’t completely screw it away)

      1. I actually looked at that firm’s annual report, starting before I even knew who Willy Porno actually was. I wouldn’t touch that stock with a barge pole.

  5. The RCMP convinced the Ranger that shooting PM Weirdo II wouldn’t change the fact that 70% of Canadians are just as stupid.

  6. Well I shook my head, but really? Is anyone on SDA surprised? The reality of course, is that he’s to ignorant to make the connection. Butts is the evil wizard running the show, and Trudeau goes off script while in front of the camera. Oops, he shouldn’t have said that! Just like he said “the budget will balance itself”, in another stupid moment. I hope he keeps it up, cuz a bunch of people may begin to notice this level of stupid!

    1. Just like he said “the budget will balance itself”, in another stupid moment.

It wasn’t a stupid moment for him. It probably helped get him elected the first time.

      1. BA, it was a stupid moment, and boy does he have a collection of stupid moments, unfortunately the Eastern electorate is even more stupid, and they still think the sun shines out of his (_i_)

I don’t mean to disrespect the few conservative voters in the east, but Jeez, the level of stupidity needed to vote him in,…. twice, is off the charts, astronomically STUPID!

  7. Proof that he has absolutely no idea of where all that money comes from.
That or he is getting ready to resign and leave the country before shtf.

  8. Our federal government is being run by the student council from a special needs high school.

    1. @UnMe:
You keep talking like that and the SDA’ers will start liking you.

  9. The fact is they have no clue what the final numbers will be. Past performance is the best indicator and they have been missing by a factor of 2 to 3 times.

    1. *
well, see liz… there’s this magical goose… and everytime you
look under it’s arse, there’s these golden
      … ah, f@ck it.

      *

    2. As of mid-June 2020 the Bank of Canada is printing (ie. pulling out of thin air) $5-billion (Cdn) per week and then using that “money” to “purchase” bonds on the open market, bonds that no one else wants to buy. This is currently the only way that the Newfoundland government can keep its operation running. That province is essentially bankrupt. The rest of the country will soon follow (within about 3 years.)

  10. $10,000 deficit spending per capita? How is that even possible? Most people including me are getting almost nothing. I think I got a $300 Old Age Pension boost. The average family of 4 should be getting $40,000 and most are getting nothing. WTF

    1. scar, a one time 300 dollar boost, not quite six cases of beer. they say we will not be taxed on it but I have been taxed on every dime they send my way because I have too many dimes of my own, although fewer now than when the moron was elected.

      1. Yup.

A year ago, I received notice that I had to start pre-paying my income tax because I paid above a certain threshold. That implied that I had enough money that I could afford to do so. Of course, that was money that I could have used while I was working on settling my father’s estate, not that the government cares.

I’m sure that the government was sorry that my father died, so it expected me to share my grief by handing over large chunks of money in the form of taxes.

    2. I’ve gotten nothing as I’m still working. My woman has gotten only some partial payments because the system has pooched her file + she’s out 20K of earnings.

      1. Yup. Too *^%*&ng stupid or selfish to be concerned that they’re selling themselves and their children and grandchildren into debt slavery.

        1. But…but…he saved us from the covid! He’s so dreamy! He’s so caring. Ooh look, Rocky and Bullwinkle socks

          1. Actually, I can barely stand to look at his picture; it “gars me grue”.

Checked bank account; the $300 to seniors hit yesterday. Will be interesting to see if this “non-taxable” amount is subject to clawback for the “wealthier” seniors. Actually would have preferred to have seen this targeted to the more vulnerable seniors. Also, seriously want a lot of their programs modified. Presently, it’s an “all or nothing” approach, the prime example being allowed a 75% wage subsidy (taxable, of course) provided the company shows 30% revenue decline. You have 29% – you’re out of luck; never mind that the costs incurred in keeping the revenues that high mean you are operating at a loss. Obviously, these programs are designed by those who have never had to sign a paycheque on the front.

          2. You do realize that his socks protect this country by providing a nuclear shield, don’t you? How else do you explain that we haven’t been nuked yet?

If you’re skeptical, though, he’s going to teach you a lesson by not wearing them, and if there are mushroom clouds on the horizon within hours after that, don’t say you weren’t warned.

  11. Canada Day celebrations now involve a flag and a pair of scissors.
    I’m done.

  12. I like his comment that he decided to take on the debt to save Canadians from it.

So did he and Morneau cut personal checks from their personal bank accounts for this spending.

If not when he says he decided to take on the debt meaning all us taxpayers.

what and idiot. Doesn’t say much for the education of Drama students…..

  13. I couldn’t bring myself to read the whole article. Sad news but then again not unexpected. If the Fool in Chief thinks he is saving Canadians from their credit cards then pray tell who /what is going to save them from the taxman when the bill comes due … and Oh yes it WILL come due !
Well I guess I can take solace in the fact that as I can’t get timely treatment for my advancing cancer, I most likely won’t be around when the crap hits the fan.

Canada, a once proud country reduced to living on the streets due to Socialism.

    Thanks progys

    1. AC, hold tight, they are pretty good at fixing cancer now a days, best of luck to you!!

  14. Blackie’s loyal, drooling media didn’t ask Scheer about the deficit, instead they asked him about not wearing a mask. Yes that is much more important than a 343 billion dollar deficit.

  15. Translation: “Canada took on the debt so only working canuckleheads would have to repay it.”

    1. Nope, he understands how to buy the media and the votes.

Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver still poll red-red-red. They love him.

  16. The shit is just starting to hit the fan. Even bongo’s cbc is biting his ass over the klingonburger bros. You gotta think even the incurious Canadian media will pickup on the continuing saga of goofs that is this government. Where’s Fife the knife….haha?

Scheer hit The Bong hard today with his cutting remark over not attending the USMCA meeting with Trump and Mexico. The gloves are coming off. Once it starts…

Someone mentioned above that the libranos will call an early election. Probably a good strategy given mounting criticism.

  17. “… expected to show a current-year deficit of more than C$300 billion ($221 billion)”

Math is too hard for fake journalists.

  18. I had to read the article to double check; he really said:

“We decided to take on that debt to prevent Canadians from having to do it,”
What does he think he is, one of his bloody chums’ charities?

Canadians did take on that debt, arsehole, and although your chums will be alright, thankyou very much, Canadians are going to be paying for your policies and looting for generations.

  19. Dear Leader absolutely does not care. It is not his money he is borrowing and wasting. He will never be brought to account for this. Kanuckistanians won’t smarten up and form torch and pitchfork crowds.

  20. With just a portion of that deficit we could have had our own space program. At least that would create a few jobs.

    1. To have one, we would need a viable aerospace industry. That ended on February 20, 1959 when the Avro Arrow was cancelled.

  21. Le Dauphin spent and spent and spent prior to this happening. Well over 120 Billion since taking office from the “horrible” Harper who left office leaving a small surplus. Given billions away to foreign dictatorships to try and buy a useless Security Council Seat. How many billions have found their way into the hands of well connected liarberals? Primarily in La Belle Province.

Covid merely exacerbated an already growing problem. This country was headed for bankruptcy before someone ate bat soup in Wuhan. The incompetent kleptocrats at the helm have just stepped on the accelerator harder.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is past time to realize that Canada is a dying country. A noble nation of 60 years ago is not even a noble notion now. It’s populace is possessed of a narrow minded and narcissistic greed that only says “gimmee, gimmee, gimmee” A government that is only too willing to feed that greed by systematically robbing from the only productive portions of the country and giving the spoils to those that vote to support and feed their own avarice.

Mr. Hill let us move forward

  22. The media and PM McSBF (Prime Minister McSpendy Black Face) are setting up the no debate scenario where he campaigns from the Cottage. He’s going to do the Joe Biden Turtle. PM Justin Turtle?

  23. As a senior all I’m due to receive is $300 (not yet received) so does that mean if I send it back I won’t have to pay any of that $300 billion that he’s putting the country in debt for. Every time that idiot opens his mouth bs or nonsense comes out. They should put duct tape on his mouth to prevent him from saying stupid thing in public.

  24. Any time a lefty colleague of mine talks about “the federal government should spend x x x vs the provincial government” or “we should get provincial money for a municipal project” I ask him what kind of taxpayer he is, i.e. federal, provincial or municipal? I usually get a dumb look. Then I tell him I’ve opted to be a provincial taxpayer, not a federal or municipal taxpayer. Finally it begins to dawn on them, there is, only ever was and only ever will be one level of taxpayer. But the very fact that it needs to be explained to them is the root of what is wrong with this country. The country can survive Justin Hairdo. It cannot survive a population that thinks Justin Hairdo makes a good prime minister.

  25. How long before the pivot to climate change bs , there’s 900 million that needs wasting

  26. our country will survive. our country will prosper, despite the incompetence of one effing big narcissistic dork surrounded by a coterie of party-party acolytes. his father took canada into a 14% year upon year rate of increased spending and debt resolved by the gst 20 years later (ahhh the famous red book from chretien) it’s tragic on many levels, but it will take more than one silver-spooned moron from the bowels of the nep to destroy what has been built. i will be long gone before the piper packs it up and demands his due. our prime minister is a ridiculous figure. what a pathetic legacy!

    1. johnny……..I bet the Venezuelans thought that and they are still going backwards.

  27. He addresses Canadians like they are children. No acknowledgement that there is any downside to debt. I think that Trudeau and his supporters in the PMO are simple minded.

    1. Enough Canadians are complete sheep, and abide by anything the LIEBrawls say as the gospel truth, and then will repeat it.
Like others here, I’ve been working right thru this as well, collecting not a tax dollar at all. Watching others rip off taxpayers with CERB when they don’t need it, and now the yutes are turning down jobs cuz CERB!
The crash will be bad, and it’s us, again, they will attempt to make pay for it

    2. Trudeau and his supporters in the PMO are IN POWER. That is the ONLY consideration. Costs be damned.

  28. More like “I decided to make your children and grandchildren and their children and grandchildren perpetually indebted so that I could spend tons of money to improve my chances of getting re-elected.”

  29. The Drama Teacher has written a Tragedy for Canada—–that my Grandchildren will have to pay off! Justin’s stupidity and globalism have ruined Canada!

  30. He is making our children, grand children, great grand children SLAVES. State owned slaves.

  31. Your garden variety socialist loves a distraught economy gripped by public and private debt…… as the Russian writers say, they want us to fall at government’s feet and cry “feed me”…..

  32. This year is bad enough but wait until the tax revenues come due next April and the unemployed and the failed businesses don’t chip in. The deficit will be astronomical.

  33. JustUN has many times mused about the new taxes he wants to launch to finance his wealth redistribution schemes.

Estate taxes, principle residence exemption, higher taxes for higher wage earners.

All so he can shower his base with your cash, meaning new Canadians, foreign students, refugees and the newly unemployed and extend his base of power through open borders.

    One small step towards Venezuela.

  34. Liberals reported debt of 1.2T. In 2014 the debt was 4.1 Trillion. That makes it 5.2 Trillion. Not 1.2T Canada is Officially Venezuela North, actually more in debt than Venezuela who owes 157B, Italy 2..6T, Spain 1.09T, and France at 2.55T. Are you beginning to understand why we have to get out. Canada as a country is finished. Don’t take my word. Look it up. https://torontosun.com/2014/04/11/all-levels-of-canadian-government-debt-total-41-trillion/wcm/5ce2d058-f666-4105-8ace-a7be79c9d674

  35. “We decided to take on that debt to prevent Canadians from having to do it,” Trudeau said.
As the “New Middle Class” has not missed a paycheck while they impose complete shutdown of productive work in this country,we shall expect the actual loss incurred to be 3 to 5 times whatever the bureaus admit to.
Next the taxpaying citizens, that is the small group of productive persons still living in Can Ahh Duh,will be invited to pay off this debt ,that the freeloaders so graciously took on in our name..
Either we ditch these drunken fools or we pay for ever.
Or course barter is an option,as long as you are prepared to become a good Liberal Style Citizen.
Where your default position is to lie.
    To everyone about everything.

We would in my opinion suffer less if we separate now.
As life as a souless loser is not for me.

  36. I am sure Quebec will not pay any of this Federal debt…. Why should they pay for Ontario free loaders (AKA) civil servants…. Canada has near an Order of Magnitude more Civil servants than normal… Quebec will separate and they should move on without this Mill Stone of Waste…..What is Canada’s GNP… Besides Farming… Name three….

    1. Win win. Quebec gone would be a national holiday in the rest of Canada in perpetuity.
French as a foreign language, we can but dream.

  37. In Germany after the war, they looked at your bank savings and taxed you for it.

I hope this doesn’t happen here… lot of retirement folk are going to go broke.

    1. They are doing just that in the Netherlands. If you hold over $20K euros in your bank savings account you are taxed on it – on top of any interest that you would make from it. Then again their interest rates are in negative territory now.

      1. @Jaymo:
If that happens here, I am withdrawing all my liquid cash and stuffing it in a mattress.
If course maybe by then, I will need to suitcase load to buy a week’s groceries.

  38. Hey, the feds, the provinces and the municipalities do not give a rat’s ass about debt…so why should I.

    I don’t.

Saving is a lost cause. Savers are losers now! Negative interest rates! Everything one tries to do to get ahead is undermined by taxes. So spend your money before the Feds get their hands on it. And they will. After all, when you are in your nursing home drooling and they take 90% of your savings to pay for your care just remember, the guy in the next room who never saved a cent all of his life and has not a pot to piss in except for his OAS and CPP is getting the same damn service and benefits as you are. Drool for thought!

  39. Headline: Derelict dilettante dumps dollars at damaged Dominion.

If Dodo wants to get out of debt he can sell the West (Manitoba to B.C.) to the USA, pay off his debt and keep Upper and Lower Canada and the Maritimes as his little fiefdom to dictate.

Their new carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions will please their friends in Paris.

    All will be well… bye-bye!
