    1. Joe – Go Brian Lilley. Trudeau took a bribe his first year, outraged an entire country (India) in 2018, fired his top indigenous female MP for not endorsing his SNC get-out-of-jail plan, fondled a female reporter and wore black face in his youth and now the We scandal that smells really bad already. He is the Teflon Ding Dong. Only in Canada could a politician get away with so much. Pity.

      1. Johnny Chretien was Teflon Man. Nothing stuck to him.
        Now Blackie’s doing it.
It’s all cool in Canada. Makes us as ethical as Swaziland

        1. That’s because of a complicit media. They pick and choose how much attention each story receives. As an example, think back to the 2015 election. The entire campaign focussed on one thing – Mike Duffy. Day in and day out Duffy, Duffy, Duffy. It often was the lead story, ahead of other election news. Once the election was over it disappeared. And when he was acquitted, the media, which cared so much before, wasn’t there.
It all depends on what they feel the public should know. With WE, its not that they aren’t covering it, but the amount of op-eds, panels and reports dedicated to the scandal pale in comparison to anything a Conservative says or does.

          1. In addition, the so-called “robocall scandal” prompted hundreds of anti-Harper articles over many months in a fruitless attempt to connect Harper to the rogue actions of a low level party official – and all this over a riding won by the Liberals.

        2. Partially true.

chretien also faced a divided conservative opposition, PC and Reform. Easy pickings which led to 3 straight majorities. Canadians refused to trust government to the conservatives until they got their act together. At that point the libranos themselves tossed da liddle thief into the dumpster.

          1. Jean stuffed da boxes, you know that, even landslide Annie knew how to do it. Com’on!

          2. NR

Your right about landslide annie. Something very untoward occurred every election in that riding.

    2. Charities have become a modern tax-free way of piling up the loot. I no longer donate to charities except the Sally-Anne.

      1. Really?

Would the majority of Albertans still think joining the US is a great option if the Democrats successfully steal this year’s election? Or an AOC-type in 2024? And just imagine all the Democrats flooding Alberta State to escape the American cities their policies have already destroyed. Democrat activists would descend upon this new virgin state like locusts to ensure their party has ultimate control over it and it’s people.

I don’t think jumping from the fire to the frying pan is exactly what western Canadians are asking for. Anyways, as I have mentioned here many times in the past, the west may have already waited too long for a truly powerful separation movement to take hold. The enemy within is probably already too strong.

        1. Given the urban versus rural vote in Alberta, I’m more worried about keeping limits on President-for-life Nenshi.

      1. Comet Halley, as many of us will remember, got a lot of attention at that time. I was living in the Brooks area of the time and, no matter how many attempts I made to observe it from the ground, I couldn’t find it.

Eventually, I bought a ticket on a comet flight. We flew out of Calgary early in the morning, but conditions were lousy because the sky was already lit up by the moon. I did manage to see it, but it was quite fuzzy.

Fortunately, more than 10 years later, Comet Hale-Bopp came by and its appearance more than made up for my earlier disappointment, particularly after it displayed a second tail. For most of the time that it was visible, it was about halfway up in the northern sky, so it was hard to miss.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have my telescope back then as I’m sure I could have taken some great pictures.

        1. A famous person with a sense of humour…
Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910) was born shortly after an appearance of Halley’s Comet, and he predicted that he would “go out with it” as well; he died the day after the comet made its closest approach to the Earth.

          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Twain

        2. If I remember, the entire time Halley’s Comet was visible, the sky was overcast. Thus, I did not get to see it.

    1. Thats an awesome pic…Now if we could only get ONE CLEAR NIGHT here in Cowtown…I just might head out to Priddis for some Dark Sky Night – early AM shoots….Its not been good with our current and past weather, that’s for sure.

  1. Hey, breaking news….Trudeau is still a twat undermining our once great country.
Meanwhile, there is still a solid piece of rock on Mount Rushmore that could accommodate the likeness of the Donald, adding to the ones who deserve being carved on that stone.

    1. I think someone should be scouting out another big rock for the best presidents of the last 100 years – Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, and Trump.

    2. Stevie

      I could not AGREE more…LMAO.!!
      That would be absolute PERFECTION.
Causing millions of SJW imbeciles to self immolate.

  2. Nancy – If the comet stabilizes over Bethlehem some people could be in trouble. Great picture.

    1. I would hardly call a hundred years of tyranny “jumping to conclusions”.

    2. I agree that’s it’s “not so bad”.
The truth is that it’s absolutely horrid and has done nothing to improve the human condition. The only accomplishment that can be attributed to communism is that it elevates the worst traits of humanity and makes adherence to its ideology an orthodoxy that systemically punishes anyone that questions it’s validity.

    3. They killed half my people in Russia. The killed 12 million Ukrainians. They killed 70 million Chinese. Red Rachel and crew label this a good start.

    4. One of the main tenets of Karl Marx was “From Each According To His Means, To Each According To His Need” This has been enshrined in the Canadian Constitution since 1982. PE Trudeau’s word for Karl Marx’s philosophy is called the Equalization Act.

    5. People’s Cube has an appropriate poster drawing on commie logic:
“A century of failure proves nothing”

    6. The Dippers are, and always have been, just a division of the Communist Party. Thus it is no surprise when one of those scum bags praise communism.

  3. City of Calgary is considering new taxes. These include:
    – a tax on home-based small business. E-scooters and Uber, golf courses and billboard ads could be hit.
    – an alcoholic beverage tax,
    – an entertainment and amusement tax,
    – a motor vehicle registration tax,
    – a parking tax, a tobacco tax,
    – a municipal income tax,
    – a fuel tax,
    -an insurance premium tax,
    – road tolls,
    – a land transfer tax at the time of the purchase or sale of a home.
    – a municipal sales tax. Vancouver floated it. Citizens shot it down. Some folks here call it a penny tax, suggesting a 1% rate.

    https://calgarysun.com/opinion/columnists/bell-calgary-city-hall-new-taxes-more-taxes-what-a-town

Now our local Dear Leader, Neheed Nenshi, is upset that the Province wants to have an equalization referendum at the same time as the next municipal election. Guess Nenshi realizes that voter turn out for the referendum might bring out a whole bunch of anti-tax and spend types who would vote out most of the current city council.

    1. Current legislation supports none of these tax grabs and isn’t likely to change.

      1. There will be an unrelenting campaign by Nenshi, Trudeau, Alberta NDP, plus big labour to implement ‘reforms’ which will allow more taxes.

    2. Joe,

Just a land transfer tax would’ve been enough to take care of the city’s big spending ways.

In the Maritimes, at least N.B.– they charge a buyer a quarter of one percent of the purchase price. Can you just imagine how much moolah the city would’ve made here, on that alone, given the growth in Calgary and the continuous resale of homes during this last boom? Not lost on the The Federal Government, though, they got in on the act and charge their soul eating G.S.T. on newly constructed real estate.

We’re screwed… (add. curse. word. of. your. choice. here)

  4. A disturbance in the narrative?

    https://nationalpost.com/news/0708-na-knee

This story isn’t surprising but when you hear criticism from one there is a high probability that there are others in the demographic thinking it, but for reasons of discretion won’t speak it.
With regard to the “discretionary” reasons. When it comes to official Ottawa, it is also plausible their silence could have more to do with career aspirations than with principles or professional integrity. Then again, I won’t denigrate the entire RCMP as there is the reality that they take a professional oath to protect including the ones assigned to security details.
Like public defence attorneys, sometimes you have to protect someone that desperately needs a swift kick in the nads, but they suppress the urge and uphold their oath to protect to the best of their abilities.

  5. And true to form and about ten years too late:
    https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/news/jk-rowling-harpers-open-letter-cancel-culture-a9607116.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR3xPk60xr4U-QoTeiKSUu90hhYzvCxeUqpmsS0LzHKdOlr2RI45m_Zwm4Y#Echobox=1594190967
When they’re on the receiving end, celebrity libs now suddenly decide cancel culture isn’t so great after all.
Funny how they didn’t have much to say when howling mobs of violent thugs were burning and smashing up buildings when a conservative wanted to voice an opinion, but now . . . well, now it’s them!

    1. Here is the actual letter. The focus on Rowling us a red herring. At least a few people on the left are noticing that forcing everyone into the same ideological mold threatens democracy. https://harpers.org/a-letter-on-justice-and-open-debate/

Of course they could not write the letter without going after Trump and claiming that shutting down free speech is more of a right wing thing (not so I have noticed!) But at least they are flagging the problem.

  6. Breaking News!
CardyB to have skin lightening treatment on her genitals.
    Source-Fox News

    1. It’s about time! Sheesh! What took her so long…

It is the end of civilization isn’t it? I sad.

    2. Who’s FardyB and is it important that I’m not concerned that I don’t know?

  7. My wife and I watch CBC News Morning every morning. One thing we notice is that, each day for the past two weeks, the first 15 minutes of each show is delegated to “racism” pieces no matter how unimportant or contrived. White racism against blacks; whit racism against aboriginals; white racism against non-white immigrants. Either that, or a feature on one of the three favored groups listed above. I wonder if there was a directive from higher-ups at CBC News to frame each newscast this way. Corruption at the CBC…

    P.s., love the new font!

  8. The Babylon Bee breaking news:

“Scarlett Johansson Under Fire For Agreeing To Play Giant Sandworm In Upcoming ‘Dune’ Adaptation”

““Scarlett really needs to stay in her lane,” said a representative for the Sandworm Actor’s Guild of America. “Until you’ve lived it, you can’t possibly understand what it truly means to live underground generating spice. Back off, girl!”

“Sandworms suffer exploitation from Fremen tribes stealing their spice every single day, and Johansson feels she can just come in and act like a sandworm, like she’s an actor or something,” he added. “We will not stand for this. We want more film roles, no matter how qualified Johansson is for the part.”

“The roles must flow,” he added ominously.”

    https://babylonbee.com/news/scarlett-johansson-under-fire-for-agreeing-to-play-giant-sandworm-in-upcoming-dune-adaptation/

    Mockery is important.

  9. Belair Direct threatens to withdraw sponsorship of Eskimos unless they change their name.

    https://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/cfl/edmonton-eskimos-belairdirect-sponsor-name-1.5641501

I wish I insured through them so I could withdraw my sponsorship of them. Time for a boycott. The Eskimos consults with real Eskimos and many love the name. Many Eskimo people in Alaska consider Eskimo the preferred name and those in the Western Arctic in Canada use the word themselves, at least they do to me.

    1. OK, so maybe they should change their name to the Vegreville Eskimos.

    2. This is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins

Dear Mr. Page: I agree with our Native American population. I am highly jilted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.

Let’s ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If your shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns.

The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60’s alive. Gone. It’s offensive to us white folk.

The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men’s lives. I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres.

Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates!

Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even spending habits. Wrong message to our children.

The New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants promote obesity, a growing childhood epidemic. Wrong message to our children. The Cincinnati Reds promote downers /barbiturates. Wrong message to our children.

The Milwaukee Brewers. Well that goes without saying. Wrong message to our children.

So, there you go. We need to support any legislation that comes out to rectify this travesty, because the government will likely become involved with this issue, as they should. Just the kind of thing the do-nothing Congress loves.

As a die-hard Oregon State fan, my wife and I, with all of this in mind, suggest it might also make some sense to change the name of the Oregon State women’s athletic teams to something other than “the Beavers (especially when they play Southern California. Do we really want the Trojans sticking it to the Beavers???

I always love your articles and I generally agree with them. As for the Redskins name I would suggest they change the name to the “Foreskins” to better represent their community, paying tribute to the dick heads in Washington DC.

      DBB

      1. It is customary to add the word “Lady” in front of the team nickname for women’s teams, such as Lady Bruins and Lady Trojans. I believe Oregon St. does the same thing, and it always amused me to see their women’s team referred to as the Lady Beavers.
For fun, I used to make up Holiday basketball tournaments, such as the Tiger tournament or Wildcat tournament. Or the All-color tournament for Navy, Brown, Auburn. But I am stuck for a fourth one. The best I can do is Colorado.
Getting to the point, the X-rated tournament with Oregon St, and the two USC’s. I was stuck until I came up with Florida St.

      2. Brilliant. These people are taking all the fun out of sports. Referencing Indians is this case expresses admiration for their fierceness. Many natives take pride in their being acknowledged in this way, it takes a leftist to spoil everything.

        1. I believe the Cleveland baseball club called itself the Indians to honor an Indian who played for the team at the turn of the century (19th to 20th.)

    3. scar

I agree. Belair should be boycotted. They are owned by Intact – who own probably half the property casualty market in Canada and so should be fairly easy to target. Somebody should start this thing rolling. I’m onboard.

  10. The PBO reports that Blackie’s government can’t find over thirty four thousand people ordered deported from Canada.

  11. Blackie’s CBC is praising Great Leader’s new effort to fight Canadian racist bastards. During their two day retreat Justin gave each of his lackie cabinet ministers orders to come up with policies to fight all the racism in Canada. And Justin reminded everyone in Question Period today, that systematic racism is running rampant in the country.

    1. Correction : Synthetic racism is running rampant, What is systematic is a human rights infrastructure that covers the basics and tolerates, for now, race profiteers who otherwise would be irrelevant.

  12. I don’t think the current rash of virtue signalling abasement by whites has reached its nadir, especially among women. I predict we will soon see pictures of white women kneeling in groups before black men to perform reparation fellatio.
