  1. “Control healthcare and you control the people” ~ Saul Alinsky

Yet another reason why “single payer healthcare” is the most sought after thing, even comes before gun control in their books ….

“Female voice (medicine cabinet): If you feel you are not properly sedated, call 348-844 immediately. Failure to do so may result in prosecution for criminal drug evasion.” ~ ‘THX 1138’

“There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it.” ~ Aldous Huxley

    1. We are well on the way, legal pot, legal injection sites for illegal drugs. Yep, when pot was legalized I said just great, not only drunk and stupid voters, drunk, stoned and stupid voters. Of course when your labour is required the dope will vanish just like your freedom did when you started taking it. By the way, I have no respect for Peterson. I don’t care how many view him as a guru.

    2. Will be?

      Will be?

Why do you think alcohol is legal? Prohibition didn’t end because it was impossible to enforce. It ended because drunkards are unable to organize successful tax and debt revolts. Our masters have always relied on strong drink to take their peons’ money and keep them quiet.

      1. Well now, beer has been brewed for thousands of years and long before socialists had their evil grip on society. That today’s crop of morons are easily lead does not mean we all are.

      2. If you can’t cope with alcohol don’t drink it.
Assuming I can’t safely and happily use great red wine and malt whisky is just more control State drivel.
If you’re inadequate try not to project your inadequacy on other people.

  2. There is a lot here that is unspoken but quite relevant to the present situation in the upcoming American election. Unfortunately the majority of the voting public is too immersed in the belief that the ‘experts’ are right. The public have been indoctrinated since WWII, or even earlier, into believing that the leaders are all knowing by the constant bombardment from the media. Those of us that still think for ourselves are a diminishing number.

  3. There’s very little “hidden” regarding the over-medication in modern health care, particularly in the US where access to practitioners is easier. I found it surprising that someone of Peterson’s intellect would end up with an addiction problem but like all humans, he has flaws. I’ve always thought that there is a high level of flimflam involved in psychiatry and when these guys try to make it sound like a science, I’m skeptical. Critical thinking and free will are people’s best defense against unhealthy outcomes. Blaming Big Pharma for over-prescribing drugs is a cop out. Everyone knows Big Pharma is in it for profit just like every other business.

    1. It’s more than just psychiatry. Look at the history of Obstetrics and Gynecology and how they turned childbirth into a process that requires drugs and frequently ends in surgery. There are still practitioners out there doing episiotomies for crying out loud. Then there is the entire drugging of our elderly keeping them on four five and six drugs, blood thinners, high blood pressure meds, cholesterol control, all “just in case”. Look at how routine mammography helps no one and does immeasurable harm with high false positive and false negative rates and “cures” of lumps that probably would have gone no where if nothing was done. Medicine is a shit show.

I once had a nuse tell me who worked in a hospital where many red indian women came to give birth that she never heard one scream or yell or cry.

  4. Look in the mirror.
You crave “a pill fixes all” world, nothing more to do carry on.
It’s the reason antibiotics are failing as a class. They are usually and regularly prescribed for viral infections not bacterial infections, because we want to walk away with a magic pill. Unless opportunist bacterial infections occur simultaneously they are useless.
If the doc doesn’t send you home with tablets you feel cheated. Find another doc, bad for the GP business, that.
How did people manage before pill fixes? They were naturally mentally far tougher and resilient. And I suspect families were tighter.

    1. My father was the old fashioned GP. He would not prescribe antibiotics for a viral infection. He would say rest and you will be better in a week. Not uncommon was for the patient wanting a nostrum to go to another doctor who would prescribe an antibiotic. Then they would report to my father that doctor so-and-so gave them a prescription and they were better within a week. There is no prescription to cure idiocy.

  5. Ok. I will try to watch the whole video, but after 20 minutes, I must say that it is cringeworthy despite how cute Jordan’s daughter may be. That seemed more like a chat that they should have had at their kitchen table.
Twelve rules of credibility. Rule one….don’t talk to your daughter about your wife (her mother) along with your drug issues, on a public platform (your daughter’s pod cast).
I like Jordan and what he has said along the way, but I am starting to feel like old white guy.

  6. I have used Lorazepam (Ativan) for 20 years. Scripts are 30 pills from my psychiatrist every 8-10 months. I use them when my Eli Bay “Progressive Relaxation” tapes don’t quite work for an anxiety attack (and prior to flying). This video is bunk when compared to my personal experience. The drug is an excellent backstop to other CBT techniques. Well understood and very safe. I don’t know why JP and others are in this crusade. I have had zero addiction issues.
