    1. Stan, thanks for this. I voted “no”, against the NDP, and we are in the lead with 79% of the vote.

    2. Effing socialist want everything rationed by the state, even at the expense of everyone else. Of course, the Dippers in government will pop over the boarder when they need an MRI.

    3. Private MRIs are still illegal in Ontario and no sign of that changing. One more piece of evidence that Doug Ford is not a real conservative since he hasn’t eliminated the ban.

    1. I listened to Barry last night. Calm Controlled and ultimately 100% correct.

There is no FIXING Confederation. It would be like the the shop owners in the Bronx wanting to reform the Mafiosa who they pay protection money to.

      It aint EVER gonna Happen
Why would they.? What’s the incentive for the Laurentien Elites to give up even a nanoparticle of power..??? Fkn ZERO. They’ve got it made & Can rule at their pleasure as we can so readily see today as they trample all over the prairies.

I am so ready for either an independent Nation of Sask/Alberta or our joining the US as 51st state. If you’d have asked me a year ago..? I would have scoffed at the idea of joining the US….But at the Very least, there is 2A…and that my friends is a HUGE Deal which by its very existence offers protection of property, person and the very state itself.

      Bring it on..

        1. I’m sure that many of my fellow Edmontonians would do so.

          1. Would those be the same Edmontonians who don’t have enough money to mow the grass in parks but gave rich kids $750 to buy electric bikes so they wouldn’t burn the lard off their asses while biking?

          2. Scar:

Funny you should comment about the grass. Over the past two weeks, I got around to some business which was postponed due to Dear Leader’s idiotic public health policies.

One thing I noticed was how dreadful the city looked. I’m sure that, in places, the grass must be knee-high. But, no, Donnie Bike Lane and his gang of silly council knuckleheads insisted that nothing be done because it might spread the virus or some such tomfoolery.

I gotta get outta this city when I’m done settling my father’s estate…..

          3. I’m not sure there are many sane places to escape to, away from the madness and lemming city councils that exist. None of them show any common sense, instead following the mass paranoia protocols no matter how non-sensical.
This authoritarian process is also invading start as and similar complexes. My own resort complex implemented rules autocratically (no membership vote) to severely restrict everything around our park, no tennis, no mini golf, closed washrooms, no use of tools we paid for, no guests, blather, blather, blather.
We can’t even escape to there to avoid the Karens.
Have no fear though, TruDope and his Liberal government minions are protecting their unionized peoplekind, by keeping them at full pay, while keeping them at home to protect themselves, while they play online poker, and party the days away. Work and production? Four letter word!

      1. …and President Designate Joe Hiden having a huge role in Albertan’s lives.

    1. 51st State….I could handle that.!

Significantly cheaper: Air Fare, Cell phone Rates, Dairy
Interest on home purchase Tax Deductible.
More jobs than folks to fill them.
And MUCH MUCH Better SELECTION of Goods – Any kind of Goods.
No ASSHOLE LEFT WING Commie Gun Laws.

      Im in…

      1. Don’t get too excited. The US of A as we know them won’t exist by the end of this decade. Joining an empire in collapse is just about the dumbest thing Saskaberta could do.

        1. Moving to Chinah, are we? Health care sucks worse than here, but hey don’t let the door hit you an the way out.

    2. Good luck on the vote with Mediscare as the big campaign issue during the referendum.

      1. States in the US can have their own medical care programs. Separation is step one.

        1. True, but any state that brings in medicare by itself will go bankrupt as everyone with health problems and no insurance moves in, and money moves out to lower taxes.

          1. Have you checked the weather in Alberta? Not too many Americans will be moving there.

    1. I gave up on pro hockey nearly 50 years ago.

While I was an undergrad, I saw some college and university games. I was impressed with how fast and clean they were–lots of action and excitement without drama queens calling attention to themselves.

The last university game I saw was shortly after I started grad studies in the late 1970s. Maybe sports at that level have become as tawdry as the pro leagues in between time.

      1. Used to watch the Saskatoon Blades, when I lived in Saskatoon. All the farm teams, Oilers, Habs et al were as good as NHL, without the sticker shock. Geez, said Saskatoon and captcha went nuts. Must be an Oilers fan.

      2. Back in the early mid 60’s when the junior hockey was at it’s peak in my opinion, the NHL was entertaining. The players played for the love of the game, not the money. Now it’s all about the money. It seems that the taxpayers are usually on the hook for the stadiums and the HIGH priced tickets. Pro sports has become the “Opium of the Masses”. Could you imagine if all of the time and money that the masses spend on watching millionaires play a game was invested in keeping the government in check?

    2. I can’t believe that is a true article but coming out of Sewerattle it probably is Probably won’t be a city left by then anyway.

    1. An excellent version.

I’ve generally found Rundgren’s music quite pleasant to listen to, though I didn’t particularly like his cover of Good Vibrations, which was released about 40 years ago.

This one, though, takes me back a lot of years:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwx849ymo1c

      1. B A D R – Great song and artist. I first read about Todd Rundgren in Circus Magazine which noted he had hair that was seven different colours. Pictures of his one-time gal pal Bebe Buell and baby Live Tyler were also interesting (both beautiful but with very different looks). Bebe and Todd were like beauty and the beast.

        1. B A D R – Yes, “I saw the light”! I knew there was another Rundgren song that I really liked, back around ’79 when I heard it. Thanks for sharing.

Todd also did a ton of work producing Meatloaf’s innovative Bat out of Hell album. He explains the Eagles inspiration:
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tabzwCnczrs

Meatloaf is blown away by Todd Rundgren’s amazing one-take recording of the famous motorcycle guitar from the title song.
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thp8-MI7hyE

Steinem is also amazed as he further describes how Todd did it in one take while Jim was “standing there with (his) mouth open”:
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGeDn3teKUM

        2. Back in the day ‘I saw The Light’ by Rundgren was one of those songs that was played so often it became annoying but actually it is a good song.

  1. Cancel Culture part 1. Jordan Peterson: The activists are now stalking the hard scientists.
    – A renowned Canadian doctor who “holds a prestigious Canada Research Chair” wrote “Hiring practices that aim at equality of outcome is counter-productive. He “has faced severe retaliation on no less than six separate fronts for his hypothetically unforgivable thoughts ”
    – Meanwhile a new “research” grant “aims to decolonize contemporary physics research and attract Indigenous students.”.

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/jordan-peterson-the-activists-are-now-stalking-the-hard-scientists

Cancel Culture part 2. Lorne Gunter: Social media, cancel culture and Maoist shaming circles.
    – Social media, and what has become known as “cancel culture,” are like the shaming circles in Maoist China.
    – Margaret Wente resigned as a senior fellow of Massey College to help them create “an environment that is completely free from anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, anti-gender identity views and discrimination of any kind.”
    – in other words “to create an institution in which no deviation from “progressive” dogma is tolerated”.

    1. I was at Massey in the mid-1990s when the twin culprits for this complete mess started. The former Master John Fraser, established the Quadrangle Society as a solution to a non-existent problem. The supposed problem was the gap between town and the gown. The actual problem was how he could get his friends into the College. It was sold to the students as group that would be smaller than the students. That limit lasted for just a year. From 99 individuals, it ballooned to well over 200. At the same time, the students came up with the Diversity Committee and over half of them signed up. How one would expect diversity from a bunch of academic overachievers always escaped me. Rather than get involved with the Diversity Committee and all of its supposed inclusivity, I passed away the evenings listening to my next door neighbor regale with stories about moose hunting. This was a topic that would never have been broached at the College as it would have required a rifle. My appreciation of my next door neighbor’s tales was solidified by the spoils of a successful hunt. Moose meat stuffing was amazing and much to be preferred to the Turkey.

      1. Not sure how we can clean out the Marxists since they act as gatekeepers to everything related to education now.
One thing we can do is start treating all Marxists like they are flat earthers, since they have equal credibility at this point.

    1. For a test that has about 30% false positives one should be very skeptical. One should also question any value of any test, I don’t have it today, will I have it tomorrow, the next day, the day after that, and does it really matter as it will only give me the flu? Will having had the flu shot create a positive test?

      1. That’s what I don’t get. What is the value in a test unless you have symptoms and a good chance of having the virus, in which case, the test can be confirmation. With a negative, the results are only relevant for that point in time — and as you say, not next week, etc.

        1. Linda, you nailed it…as did OWG.

What exactly are tests all about.??
Why go get one when one is not ill.???
I have friends who insist I should get tested – I tell em all to shove it:
          I ask them WHY.?? “I’m not sick – I don’t get sick – I ain’t doing no stupid test nor will I wear a Goddamned MASK…CAPISCE.??”

Now were Govt Health Authorities to provide some REAL info: Such as the ages of each person who has contracted Covid, and died SOLEY of Covid and their location…? that would be very useful info.

At the same time providing #’s of those who since Jan have died in Car Crashes, Domestic Violence, Heart Attacks, Cancer etc.
Now THATtoo would be very useful.

But it seems Scare-Fear mongering is what they Prefer.
To me it has a lot to do with CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL…and the continued pushing via all the usual sources: Mandatory this and that. Conditioning the public to finally at some later date accept Mandatory TESTING Mandatory Mask Wearing and Mandatory Vaccination.

Those that refuse, to be “Rounded Up”, as per her royal Health Highness Theresa THAM.

    2. Notice how hardly anyone is dying? So everyone is catching it and no one is getting sick. That means it’s not all that dangerous.

    3. Yes, 12 days on the button after the massive Black LIES Matter demonstrations throughout the US.
      This virus is getting predictable.

    1. We are still waiting for Virginia to give UnMe one of those post-birth abortions from Governor Blackface Northam.

    1. I’ve added that to my “Must Watch” list. Thanks for the tip.

    1. POTUS was interviewed on Hannity last night. Prior to the sit down in a town hall gathering, Sean told Trump about what Biden said and Trump was not surprised by Biden’s latest misinformation, he didn’t really say too much, except that the 120 million is about a third of the American population.

Maybe Joe Biden must need a hearing aid or he’s lost it completely.

Here’s the town hall interview in case you missed it:

  2. Either my ears have tuned it out or C-19 is no longer a danger but it’s sure not a leading news story. It’s more about telling us to keep distancing, wear masks when that’s not possible etc, etc.

    1. At the Edmonton airport, there’s an announcement about every 5 minutes reminding us about that. Considering the way those are presented, they may as well say: “Comrades are reminded to practice social distancing in order for the revolution to succeed.”

  3. The bought and paid for media is full of praise for Great Leader’s tough stance on China. Gee, you would almost think this whole thing was set up by the Liberal Party to make little Justin’s dictatorship look good. But that’s silly talk of course. And now the censored Canadian news for the peasants today. Trump is Hitler, everyone who is conservative in Canada is Hitler, police forces are full of Hitlers, Jason Kenney is Hitler because his speechwriter is Hitler, Doug Ford is Hitler, Indians need more money, Blackie is wonderful, the Liberal Party is wonderful, Canadians are racist bastards.

    1. You certainly have a nack for summarizing Canadian media and politics. Remember The Canadian Hinterland?

      1. You all remember the distinctive voice and of course the accompanying music.

        So it begins:
        Scene.
        A long flat country road.
        Distinctive music.
A woodchuck amiably toddling across the road.
        The familiar commentary:
The Canadian woodchuck is native to…..
        Splat!!
        Woodchuck run over by car!

        Welcome to SCTV.

  4. How often should testing be done on people with no symptoms when it’s really a snapshot in time?

  5. And now the news everyone is waiting for, what is Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau doing today. Blackie is explaining how wonderful he is to his loyal, drooling media at a brewery this morning. He then leaves for a relaxing weekend at his Harrington Lake resort.

    1. Didn’t one of the pilots from one of the shithole countries that crashed the new Boeing 737 have less than 100 flying hours?

    2. In some countries pilots with “real” licenses aren’t qualified to fly modern aircraft.

  6. Both Google and Bing have shopped Three Gorges Dam imagery.
It is immediately evident from the bent ships in the locks just north of the dam.
Any speculations that the concrete of the dam is bending under pressure are absurd.
If that dam will burst, it will, but without bending.
    What is this distraction from?

  7. Not that I think that this is of huge importance, but:

I received my concealed-carry permit in the mail yesterday (in Iowa, you must have either a purchase permit or a concealed-carry permit in order to buy a gun). I will buy my first gun today. I have never fired an actual firearm. In about thirty years, I’ve gone from a man who sneered at gun enthusiasts to a man who will buy a gun today. It’s crazy out there, not in the town where I live, but in a whole lot of other places, even here in Iowa.

    1. Unless you are prepared to buy more guns, I suggest you try to find a shop with a range where you can try them out. Find one that fits your hand nicely, that it is easy to pick up the sight picture on when you raise it, and that has a good trigger pull. That last one can sometimes be tested by balancing a dime on the sights or on top of the frame and then dry firing. If you can test fire them, find one with a good recoil behavior, not necessarily light recoil, but controllable, where you can pick up the sights quickly for a second shot after the recoil (how I ended up buying a 45, trying each others guns at the range and I found that the sights never left the target when firing).

Don’t waste your time on anything less that .380 unless it is a secondary gun for cheap fun plinking. Some of the pistols also have available .22 conversion kits that replace the slide, barrel, and magazine so you can practice shooting cheaply with the same gun you would use in full power calibers. Those are worth a look.

    2. Good for you for making a self-defence decision as well as exercising your rights.
Hopefully you will only ever aim at targets which is a lot of fun and I believe an important skill to have.

    3. Looks like you are not alone.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-mux3PCEaM

Dave Rubin, the most agreeable host on the internet has also broken down and bought himself a gun for his birthday, and Tim Pool also broke down and got a gun as it seems many people want to shut down his dispensing of red pills.

  8. Blackie’s CBC is excited about a new poll that shows Great Leader would win a majority government if an election was held today. Everyone in Canada loves our little dictator.

    1. The Conservatives haven’t chosen a leader who will be running against him, perfect time for taking poles.

      1. Most Canadians love him and identify with and as Liberals.
There is nothing to be done about it as the vast majority want the government to pamper them and control their neighbours.

    1. So according to that article, the recent increase in virus numbers has nothing to do with the huge protests organized by the totalitarians at BLM.
Hey National Post writer, you don’t suppose that a group dedicated to bringing down the system would do anything to try and keep the virus issue front and center.

  9. Anyone hear about the massive floods in China?
    A real environmental disaster apparently.
There is also speculation that the three gorges dam is damaged and in danger of failing.

Is anyone shocked this isn’t being carried by the mainstream?

    https://youtu.be/F3vuZNEtO94

    1. Joseph, not surprised at all. But thanks for the good news story for today.

      1. Shameful comment. Many helpless people will by hurt by the flooding. You can attack the Chinese government — much deserved — but seeing people devastated by environmental chaos is not something to celebrate.

    2. I am NOT impressed with Chinese engineering or construction. And I say this as I was in commercial design and construction for 30 years.

  10. Blacklock reports that Blackie’s wife’s charity has been put in charge of directing grants to various other charities.

    1. John, thanks for this. Election Canada records show that Craig and brother Marc Kielburger donated $1,200 each to Trudeau’s Liberals during his initial run in 2015. Trudeau kicked back the favour by appearing occasionally at the annual We Day events. But…”nothing to see everything to see here folks*, as CBC News would say. Wink, nod.

      1. The Kielburger brats are nothing but little shits that need a good beating,

  11. Warmington at the Toronto Sun website writes about how a tent city has been set up at Toronto city hall. Protesters are abusing reporters and taxpayers who try to enter the square in front of the city hall.

  12. I see the polls suggest The Bong is in majority territory. Go figure

South of the border Trump continues his quest for self immolation. With the economy the way it is he has no case to make and his handling of the virus has done him in. He’s in denial.

Before you flame me out I conclude by saying if I was an American I would vote Trump.

  13. YUP!

The term “social justice” has been used for centuries to mean various things, but the modern version is Critical Social Justice, in which people are not unique individuals but members of identity groups. Power, privilege and oppression define the relationships between groups, which are either victims or perpetrators. The concept of “intersectionality” takes account of historically oppressed traits that intersect in any one person and the groups to which the person therefore belongs.

    1. What we need is another 21 century Australia and the OPTION for the radical Marxist’s to Denounce-Citizenship and create their own political Utopia like Jonestown….The choice should be easy & economically reasonable….The Group interest becomes mute when combined into an economical survival mode. Australia worked out well for the UK (they got ride of low level “Neer-do-well” Criminals) and the society that developed in Australia became superior to other UK Commonwealth Nations.

Obama’s Mother renounced her US Citizenship before he was born & Obama’s Grandfather rejected Obama & his Mother because they were White…..Racism in Kenya may not be ideal for the white idiots….BLM would be very happy

The choice between 10 years in a Tent City in the Arizona desert (Sheriff Joe) and Renouncing US Citizenship is a Win-Win

      JMHO

  14. Blacklock reports that the 44 billion dollar supply bill went through the Senate in 46 seconds. Its so easy to get things done in a dictatorship.

  15. Lilley at the Toronto Sun writes about an American environmental group that states wiping your ass with Canadian toilet paper is going to kill the planet.

    1. Business bullies have always existed. They have a new name.

Years ago I heard of a couple of cases where businesses were temporarily shut down. One was a restaurant, the other a night dance club– they were torched. It’s all about the money. This is no different. The restaurant never reopened.

    1. The left wants to paint this as BLM vs. Trump. It’s not. It’s about lawlessness vs. traditional America. They are trying to turn anger against Trump into a movement that will destroy the country. The left will lose.

      1. Yes. And, they have to have an excuse to demonize Trump because they will be rigging the election. They couldn’t believe HRC lost!
