    1. The court is usurping the power of both a President and congress. They need to be charged and impeached as they are violating the very laws they are supposed to respect. A city or a state cannot override federal immigration law. The court has become treasonous.

    Nothing has changed
    The LAPD come across like scum in this and that is an accurate portrayal. This documentary takes a unique and in-depth look at the years and events leading up to the city-wide violence that began April 29, 1992, when the verdict was announced in the Rodney King case. However that verdict was just the last straw for the African American Community of Los Angeles.

    This film wisely shows us events that help ignite the riots of 1992. For years Daryl Gates was the chief of police & had a KKK mentality. This filtered down all through the LAPD.

    In this documentary we learn for years the community was speaking about how they were treated. Not only were they treated bad by the police but also but court system and merchant owners.

    The police involved with the beating of Rodney King really showed no remorse in what they did. In fact they acted proud of it. Even though later 3 of the four of the police officers no longer worked for the LAPD they were still working as police officers in other areas. (That is however not covered in this film).

    During the riots we learn about the 4 people that were heroes that saved a mans life. That is something that the media really never covered.

    I lived in the LA area when this happened and knew about most of the cases they were featured in this. What I didn’t know was that the LAPD did kill several black men with a choke hold. Today nationwide cops now just shot you.

    WE also learn that the 4 police officers lied in their reports about the Rodney King arrest and yet the racist Simi Valley Jurors did not convict them of that.

    Now 25 years later there has been more murders of black men by police officers and most of them never get convicted. So don’t be surprised when we have another uprising.

  12. I briefly looked at an item about your glasses fogging up while wearing a mask. I guess these folks aren’t smart enough to realize that if your breath is fogging your glasses then air is going in the same way it is going out. Freaking brilliant folks just brilliant.

          If I’m not mistaken – after some 7-10ppm, you won’t even smell it anymore..?? This is bad, bad, very bad, really bad shit. Found elsewhere too: Oil Tankers, Sewers, even Deep holes.

          1. When I worked at the plant in Taylor, one could smell the place as one went into the river valley. Within minutes, that wouldn’t even be noticed because even in mild concentrations, H2S will dull one’s sense of smell.

            That’s one reason why an operator would go through a building or vessel with a sniffer before allowing a maintenance crew in. Even then, we’d wear air masks just in case because H2S has a specific gravity of 1.18 (air = 1.0).

          2. Well, gasoline comes outta the gas pump, eh. Propane outta the tank. I did a few jobs in NE BC that required a full Scott air pack on and turned on, just to recover the core. That Halfway Formation is lethal at times. Then doing a job up in the Nelson area drilling the Keg River, I lived in coveralls and slept with my Scott right beside me, on the couch. Bed was off limits. We were blowing 7 million a day up the flare stack, while air drilling the Keg River. Like sleeping with a jet engine. I’m already partially deaf from all the screaming Jimmies i worked around and actual jet engines on rotary machines ( I once flew a G2 riding on the floats for a few days, water sampling in Saskabush), so with the roar of the flare stack, the rig motors, I couldn’t hear the gas alarms. Put the face mask on when I saw folks scurry to the muster point and then joined them.
            I got stories.

          3. I learned a lot of useful things during my second summer at Taylor, including how to use a Scott air pack.

            Because they were self-contained, they were generally used for emergencies. Whenever we were working inside a building, we usually had some extra men located at an entrance. They wore Scotts and were there in case we had problems.

            The breathing apparatus I usually used consisted a mask, a hose for connecting to a building’s internal air supply, and a small reserve tank (generally meant for situations like emergency egresses).

            I don’t know if I ever needed any of those devices. I do know, though, that I was able to leave the plant in one piece at quitting time, and that meant that I had a good day.
