Rewriting history is not a “start”

Democrat mouthpiece Kirsten Powers has some ideas that are not too far afield from those of historic totalitarian takeovers of democracies:

Most Americans were reared on whitewashed fairy tales about the United States’ history with race. I wish we didn’t have so much ugliness in our history to contend with, but we do.

It’s time for us to grow up as a country and face the whole truth.

Many white Americans seem to be waking up to this fact. But there is an element on the right committed to pretending that they are the ones being victimized by the changes sweeping the country. These changes challenge the one-sided narrative of America crafted by a select group of white men.

  1. I am truly stunned at the level of power and influence these Chaz child-anarchists have already been able to muster. Wow, they actually nearly managed to turn the stoic Ben Shapiro into a giggling, jiggling puddle of jello…

I suspect many of us have had a similar emotional trip as to what Ben claims… from anger to bemusement to amusement. Personally, I can’t stop laughing at how these anarchist leftards immediately built border walls and formed their own version of ICE. Too damned funny! Their farming attempts so far are comic gold.

Only Democrats could turn a social uprising and subsequent occupation into a perfect parody of their own stupid ideologies.

  2. Shall we talk about that history of race? Blacks have a very bad reputation for violence, and the statistics show that it is very dangerous for a white person to be around blacks, while blacks around whites are more safe than they are around their fellow blacks.

    1. Thanks for the KKK take on the situation. I’m sure you’re considered a luminary in rural Alabama.

      1. Here’s a site that you might be comfortable around. I’m sure these stats were put together by the KKK.
        https://qz.com/556988/here-are-four-charts-on-race-and-murder-in-america-to-tweet-back-at-donald-trump/
As bad as our president’s numbers are, they proved his point quite handily for him.

Blacks are 3 times likely to be killed by police as a white person, yup that’s bad. But they’re FIVE times more likely to be killed by somebody of their own racial designation.

        1. “But they’re FIVE times more likely to be killed by somebody of their own racial designation.”

That you think this is even relevant is part of why you are losing.

      2. Ever been to Africa, moron? You will see an exceptional level of racism there between blacks. AND you will see a high level of black racism to those of East Indian descent and more recently to Asians. You really don’t know what you are talking about and you simply engage in knee jerk babble.

      3. America was set up by white people because America was settled and populated by white people. The only other folks who were there were Indians who had the place for 50 thousand years .. and all the came up with were canoes and moccasins.

      4. Yeah, there I go bringing facts to an argument. That’s the truth of the situation. If you don’t believe me look up the FBI crime stats. On a per capita basis a white person is 100 times more likely to be a victim of a black criminal than the other way around.

        1. It’s a red herring regardless. Not even that really: failure to police minority crime was an explicit strategy of southern segregationists.

          1. “But there is an element on the right committed to pretending that they are the ones being victimized by the changes sweeping the country.”

Not a red herring at all. It gets to the heart of what this debate is about. The statistics show that whites are overwhelmingly the victims of black crime and blacks are overwhelmingly the victims of black crime. White crime against blacks is all but non existent.

          2. Again: irrelevant to the issue of policing or systemic racism in the justice system.

      5. Oh. It’s back.

Black Rednecks and White Liberals Thomas Sowell.

Current black culture is an appropriation of borderlands Irish/Scots culture, complete with celtic/viking violence for little reason at all. You’re welcome.

Now hush, the grown-ups are talking.

        1. People (not peoplekind which I still laugh at in a disgusted way), a form of polite address including those who wish to be offended by polite forms of address, we must all remember not to acknowledge Unme. Acknowledging the poor soul validates the pitiable existence it suffers.

The term “red herring” refers to an argument fallacy where someone tries to change the topic. It is similar to a buddy of mine the said that any good point against him was “irrelevant.” He tried that against our philosophy professor and I responded that if we make everything irrelevant then no argument exists anywhere anytime. Much laughter ensued except for one individual.

Such is Unme’s level of existence. We can respond by saying Unme is irrelevant and visualize him/her/whatever of the 63 possibilities as a red herring.

Please stop responding to him/her/or whatever it claims to be. 63 choices is the last number I saw.

  3. Renaming Mt McKinley was dumb but as the second linked article makes clear, getting rid of statues falsely elevating warriors for a criminal slaver state is not tearing down history anymore than removing statues of Lenin in post-Soviet countries.

The failure to understand this is why you lose.

  4. The homeless took all their Regime Safeway food.
    LMAO…morons.

As has been noted here, I too agree with building a fence around this terrirtory, Shut off the Water, Shut off the power….and then we wait. If they decide to go full on destructive or ISIS style..??, Invade with FORCE & change the ROE to SHOOT to kill.

SANITIZE that area….and publicize what happens.

  5. Keep asking these liberals how slavery was ended.
    They haven’t a clue.
Ask them who William Wilberforce is.
Ask them when the British Empire ended slavery and slave trading and how they did it.
    They have no idea.
Ask them when the US Navy began their African Slave Trade Patrol.

    1. And ask them if they know how deeply involved in the slave trade the Arabs were (and in some cases still are).

      1. And how the Ottomans saw the British putting an end to slavery as an attempt to destroy the middle eastern economy. It’s racist to ban slavery, you know, because some cultures (races?) depend on it.

  6. “…the one-sided narrative of America crafted by a select group of white men.”

That’s because every other damn thing in our society was ALSO crafted by a select group of WHITE MEN!
You could try showing a little gratitude instead.

    1. That’s not entirely fair. Read WEB DuBois’ The Suppression of the African Slave-Trade to the United States of America, 1638-1870 (1896). And women have been significant participants in American history and politics since the Revolution (e.g., Mercy Otis Warren who wrote one of the more prescient Antifederalist pamphlets, although her sex was not known at the time).

  7. Powers is right! However, not in the way she imagines. Yes the US needs to grow up regarding a great number of things, so do many other countries for that matter. Destroying civic monuments to historical figures in the way that is happening now, is simply mob rule, and the Dems are encouraging it! A civilized nation would consider removal of these statues by discussion and debate with interested parties stating their case with persuasion rather than mob violence. Agreement by sober debate, not by anger and hate.

The same ideal should be used for a great number of grievances. When they throw violent immature tantrums over racism, white privilege, police brutality and so on, they are not helping their cause. If you shut down every attempt at civil discussion by calling everything racist, and using brutality and violence,…. to complain about police brutality and violence, or attempt to force guilt on race of people with “White Privilege”, or damage civic monuments, businesses and properties with thuggish behavior a la Antifa, you are not exactly expressing civilized decorum!

The left approves of these tactics because it creates strife and division between various groups, and assists their attempts to gain and maintain power and control! Kirsten Power’s diatribe is simply adding a little more fuel to the Left’s constantly burning bonfires! Yeah, there is a lot of ugly in all our histories, slavery is a part of that, but to blame today’s whitey for all their issues, is not really facing up to that ugly either! A lot of their problems are self caused. Caused by their overwhelming rejection of what they see as white culture and white imposition on to their culture. However, their culture today, of single parent families or fatherless children, refusals to get properly educated, savage racism, (yeah, that ain’t a one way street either) a much larger per capita criminality and drugs and so on, it’s a real cheap shot to just blame everything on “whitey” instead of facing up to the realities of their existence.

In all groups, the need is for each individual to strive for a better life, not grab everything you can from the welfare state. Perhaps the Dems could also face up to the fact that they are much of the cause for the current state of affairs! They were the ones pushing to segregate, and they created the Klan. They were the ones to push for the state to care, with welfare for all, instead of individual efforts to improve their lot in life. To get educated, and raise children in a two parent family, and teach right from wrong, to work at a job, or run a business, and so on. The Dems deliberately tried to keep them under educated, to keep them on virtual plantations, and to make them reliant on the state with welfare, all for votes, so they could, and can, maintain power!

Abe Lincoln was a republican, and he is credited with ending slavery, while the Dems fought a civil war to continue slavery. Britain’s navy was the main reason that transatlantic slavery was ended. Whitey was the one that gave sustenance with the underground railroad, to those slaves that managed to escape their masters. Somehow the Dems convinced them that they were their salvation, and the republicans were the cause of all their grief! For decades they promised them the world, if they would only vote for them, but somehow that salvation has never materialized!

  8. Kirsten Powers is a deeply conflicted journalist who personifies the mushy middle (left) by her contradictions. She defends renaming a mountain from a culture where (white) Russians ended slavery (Alaska) while the (white) British ended it in BC. She then defends against the “white-washing” of history by white-washing it (slaveholder statue destroying). She isn’t inhumane enough for mainstream media coverage anymore so has to exist in the backwaters of CNN and USA Today. Her search for “balance” has resulted in mush.

  9. Where is the duct tape when you need it? Place it over her mouth and fingers.

Remove when this activist decides to get a real life and a proper education.

  10. What happens when the mob demands blood?
Will there be a sacrificial offering?
Or will someone finally say enough.

This is not justice, it’s vengeance.
There is no due process in this.

What happens when one of the fellow travellers of this movement incur the wrath of this mob?
    What protection will they have?

In one of those art imitates life analogies there are three movie court room scenes that come to mind.
    A Man for All Seasons
    The Dark Knight Rises
    The Bonfire Of The Vanities

The first relates to how justice can be subverted to please a tyrant.
The second demonstrates how a “people’s court” (aka Antifa) works.
The third relates to how justice works.

  11. “I wish we didn’t have so much ugliness in our history to contend with, but we do.
It’s time for us to grow up as a country and face the whole truth.”

Yes. The truth is that the first slave owner in the American colonies was a Black man.
The truth is that at the time of the American Civil War there were, as a percentage of their racial demographic, more Black slave holders than White slave holders in the U.S.A.
Where are the calls for reparations from Black American slave holders?

  12. “Most Americans were reared on whitewashed fairy tales about the United States’ history with race. I wish we didn’t have so much ugliness in our history to contend with, but we do.”

They were that. I had to find out about the Haitian massacre (the Americas’ first white genocide) on my own. Nobody mentioned that in school.

If someone had, it would have explained southern attitudes towards the Negro problem perfectly—which is why it was never mentioned.

It would have revealed that the Civil War was a fight by southern whites for their survival as a people, against a northern elite dead-set on turning the South into a failed state governed by black tyrants, who would expropriate and murder the petits-blancs, and sell the Yankees the southern man’s birthright for a fraction of fair value.

The South’s petits-blancs knew that they had no future under black dominion even as slaves themselves. That’s why they died in the thousands trying to stop black “emancipation.”

Yes, let’s have an end to fairy tales where the blacks are angels, and Lincoln the Second Coming.

    1. This is not an accurate description of Northern goals. Lincoln knew he lacked authority to end slavery. The South seceding made it possible to do so.

  13. I guess if black men or American Indians wrote history, it would be truthful. Our documented history is a lie due to most historians being white. Ship logs, personal diaries, letters, court documents… all those people conspired so no one would know the TRUTH! If talking about learning fairy tales concerning the United States, Kirsten Powers exemplifies that.

    1. Bull, James

Your American Indians built nada. Actually many blacks did, after the civil war. Read your own history again and learn .

  14. Iet’s make a compromise. The United States wiII remove EVERY REFERENCE to the white men who were owners of sIaves, or soIdiers on the Confederate Side, and the rest of the white men wiII agree not to say the N-word.
But……bIacks have to give up aII the other things these eviI white men are responsibIe for.

EIectricity, cars, phones, computers, airpIanes…Air Jordans, …etc…etc…etc……you get the idea.

What trump and the RepubIicans shouId do….is expIain to the bIack popuIation who doesn’t aIready know; that it is the RepubIicans who fought and died to end sIavery – it was Democrats who fought and died to maintain it. It was the RepubIicans who fought against Jim Crow and segregation – and the democrats who fought to maintain it. It was the RepubIicans who denounced and fought against Iynchings – It was the Democrats who tied the knots and picked the trees. It was the RepubIicans who brought the KKK down to it’s knees….and the Democrats are the party who Created the KKK.

Too many American bIacks are stiII sIaves. They just don’t know it yet.

  15. There was a moment in which Ms. Powers could view reality as opposed to appearance. There’s good news and bad news… The good news is she discovered god, the bad news is was the wrong god.
