  1. Great song Kate!
Next to it I noticed another good song: “Waylon Jennings Sings Oilmen with Earl Scruggs Band”. The song backs up this short documentary that looks at the lifestyle of Mobil Oil drillers from Barrow Alaska to the North Sea (where they get 75 foot waves) to pre-revolutionary Iran (i.e. before 1978) on the Iraq border. Twenty days on with “No Women No Wine”, and twenty days off. Tough life but “it gets in your blood”.

    1. We are assured that the underclass of the United States are too scared to go to work. They’re not too scared to join a violent mob, clearly.

  2. Kate’s link lead me to read the comments of “Top 10 Most Realistic War Movies According to Military Veterans” on Youtube. All great movies but one comment was “Come and See is on a different level from all the rest of this” followed by “…it’s the best film i never want to see again”.

It’s a 1985 film, by a Russian director and co written by a Stalingrad teenager, about which the NYTs noted “Seldom if ever have wartime atrocities been depicted so vividly — and with such hallucinated fervor.”

    I read that it’s on Netflix…

      1. I’ll never get back the time I wasted canvassing for his campaign to be premier of Ontario.

    1. I did see a comment that suggested we should call His Honour a ten-letter word beginning with “e” and ending in “r”.

  3. https://leaderpost.com/news/local-news/plastic-bags-banned-regina-city-council-votes-unanimously-in-favour

From the comments: So let me get this straight. I go to IGA and buy a pack of sliced ham wrapped in plastic, a loaf of bread in a plastic bag, 4l of milk in a plastic jug, a pack of napkins wrapped in plastic, a Greek salad in a plastic container, a plastic bottle of mustard and a plastic bottle of ketchup, and they won’t give me a plastic bag to carry it home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment?

      1. But your pot will always be safely wrapped in plastic, Turdo has his priorities after all.

    1. Derek, what do you mean, is the “pandemic” not rampant in Regina? In my city they will not allow re-useable bags in the stores because of the “pandemic”, you might bring in nasty things that aren’t already on your clothes. No shortage of stupid in this world. Cities in the good old U S of A have banned re-useable bags. I know, I know, everyone is freaking nuts.

      1. SuperStore here in Edmonton’s the same way. I can’t use my nylon shopping bags lest they “contaminate” the checkout area. Safeway, however, has no such prohibition. But SS allows the use of the in-store baskets while Safeway still insists I have to used a shopping cart.

On the other hand, at the grocery store I go to whenever I’m in Fort St. John, each self-serve checkout has a sign that the Dipper government in Victoria “recommends” that I use the plastic bags.

No end of illogic. But, remember, if it saves even “one life”…..

        1. Sobeys in Sylvan Lake want you to bring your reusable bags. If you don’t they charge you for their plastic ones

  4. Minneapolis and Saint Paul businesses burnt last night.
The police and the fire departments stayed out of it from Sundown to about 2 am.

They even burnt out at least one Minneapolis Police Precinct Building.

      1. I was in LA in ’92 when the Rodney King riots were going on. They went on for awhile.

In Koreatown the shopowners were armed and fought back. They got respect from the looters who knew immediately that even the Korean grannies were prepared to shoot to defend.

In the end dozens were killed. I’m going by memory but didn’t
the riots go on for weeks? In the end troops were called in to settle things down.

Minneapolis is in for a long hot summer. The conditions are toxic.

        1. The Police withdrew ‘for their own safety’ and for a week there were no police at all. Fire could’t be fought because the police wouldn’t provide firemen with protection. The fires raged out of control. The National Guard arrived after about a week and it took another week to clear the rioters. People were on their own for as much as two weeks. More than 60 dead, 1000 wounded, thousands of acts of arson and looting. Unarmed people were defenceless against the mob. Armed people had a chance. Well armed people were safest.
Firsthand account of what happens if you are not prepared beforehand:

      2. 18 complaints mean nothing since every puke complains. What matters, however, is how many of them had a merit to it. If he had 18 legitimate complaints, he is overdue for gallows. If they were “he slapped me for swearing while on drugs” type of complaint, they are not worth the paper.
My late husband was a cop. Every time he arrested a drugged up punk, they complained. Complaints are a norm.

    1. A good link, thanks for it. A tweet from the President that cannot go on his wall because it “glorifies violence” is:
….These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!
Does this mean that any “obey the law or you can and will be arrested, by force if necessary” posts are now banned? How about doxing posts, or are they OK because the threat of violence is silent? Or is Twitter allowed to promote violence by some and not others, and face no censure at all?

    2. The CTV newschannel, today, is brazenly lying about what Trump tweeted. Trump’s “looting and shooting” condemned arsonists and looters, but CTV said he meant his tweet for “protestors”.

    1. Ahhh, thanks for the laugh. At least we can always count on the left to bring some hilarity to the situation, even if unintended.

    2. Her tears are as genuine as those that Dear Leader sheds whenever he’s “apologizing” for some alleged sin of history. People like them have no dignity or self-respect.

    3. Keep it coming Pat I haven’t laughed so hard for months. Please post something else.

    1. Trudeau can do a lot more, with a cashless society, since all monetary transactions can be traced by big government. Big government will ignore money laundering and zero in on rural people.

      1. D M, without cash barter resumes it’s rightful place in the economy, it is still non taxable because it is pretty much untraceable. Of course your average dope dealer could have a problem.

    2. With knowledge comes access.

Rather than worry about the Government knowing how I spend my money, I’d worry about them being able to dip in and share my wealth whenever and however much they want.

Like this Canadian Liberal/Socialist/Communist march ends with you having any money.
      Or anything else actually.

You young people should be doing the exact opposite of what you’re doing if you want any kind of future worth having.
      Stop voting for your executioners.

  5. Our dangerous addiction to prediction.

    https://peckford42.wordpress.com/2020/05/29/our-dangerous-addiction-to-prediction/

I’ll say that there are so many ‘experts’ making predictions that it is relatively easy for someone, say a reporter, to find an ‘expert’ that supports the position said person is trying to advocate.

Trudeauites and Bidenites are two of the worst offenders in this regard. They repeatedly claim they make decisions based on ‘science’, yet stifle all criticism of their position by claiming ‘science has spoken’.

Science makes progress by questioning existing knowledge and scientific fact. A classic example is treatment for stomach ulcers.

Remember how all doctors and the ‘science’ said ulcers were caused by stress, and that rest and diet were the treatment? Well an Australian got a Nobel Prize for showing that stomach ulcers were caused by bacteria, and that antibiotics were the proper treatment.

I remember this quite well cause I got in a heated discussion with an intern about how to treat my mother who was in hospital and who had a stomach ulcer. The intern told me in no uncertain terms that antibiotics were not the recommended treatment for ulcers. The medical science was quite certain and settled.

A supervising physician overheard our rather heated discussion. Fortunately he had read the same info I had and put my mother on antibiotics. She was quickly cured of the ulcer.

Teachers say they focus on teaching critical thinking. Yet we see so little critical thinking. The science is settled has been the mantra of the left for so long, yet most of the media has ignored the left’s abysmal prediction record going back 50 years.

    Keep on questioning!

And more importantly; how often does new information change our own minds? Do you, good reader, make an effort to seek out new information and points of view?

    1. Thanks for your post.
I knew someone who was told he had ulcers and was treated with tagamet. It seemed to help a bit. He finally had stomach surgery and was cured. He then was able to enjoy foods that he had previously avoided. He is long gone now but lived till he was in his 90s.

It bothers me to know that his suffering could’ve been avoided with a simple prescription of antibiotics.

  6. And now your good news story for today. A CNN crew has been arrested during the riots last night.

    1. And one bad news story: the Minnesota governor apologized when the media cartel called the CNN arrest racist.

  7. Blackie’s CBC is outraged that Hitler Trump called for looters to be shot. The CBC reminds us that we are fortunate here in Great Leader’s dictatorship that the police are not allowed to get involved with groups breaking the law, like indian blockades for example.

    1. The CBC has no memory of history. Looting is theft, clear and simple, and people have been shot for it. Even in wartime, after, say, an air raid, looters weren’t treated kindly by authorities.

  8. Great post on why imperfect robust systems work better than perfect fragile systems – https://sdb.dotclue.org/cd_log_entries/2003/01/Tangiblepatterns.shtml
Sample quote: “It long has been said that the best possible form of government is a benevolent dictatorship, and it’s true. But the problem with that concept is that it’s just too easy for it to convert into a malevolent dictatorship, which is the worst possible form of government. A benevolent dictatorship is a pendulum balanced on top. So I object to any attempt to establish a government of the elite, no matter how enlightened they may think they are, because I’m afraid of what the resulting system will eventually convert itself into.”

  9. And the now the Toronto Star, your best choice for Liberal Party propaganda. Great picture of Great Leader suitable for framing. Star is excited that Great Leader will announce more money for Indians this morning. Trump is Hitler stories. Doug Ford is Hitler stories. Shree explains that if people don’t like what she writes, then Canadians should stop being racist bastards.

    1. Sure would be good to know what other businesses the new Red Star ownership is involved with.

Being a Liberal Party Newsletter certainly has its perks.

Surely there should be corresponding consequences.

  10. To wear a mask or not wear a mask is the question as we face another day and more confusion on the matter.

    1. Liz, just bear this in mind. The only thing that will stop a virus is a level four containment. Even the much touted n95 masks cannot stop the penetration.

    2. Hi Liz,
I highly recommend Chris Martenson’s videos.
He’s put out a lot of material going back months which assists in assessing his credibility.
      Perhaps his material would help.
      Cheers,

    3. Masks are great, check for the following when selecting.
Full facial coverage,to defeat facial recognition software.
Inflamatory political message,to divert observers attention.
Filters /blocks teargas, for future “social gatherings”.
Reinforcement to block bike locks, chains, frozen poo and other such offerings from our progressive comrades when”protesting” with police protection.

      Masks are great.
      use them well.
Before the Bank Robbers, felons and murders union claim copyright.

      1. I drove across much of the the province yesterday. I went through a small town in central AB and saw a guy mowing his lawn on a ride ’em mower wearing a full face mask.

Glad I’m not married to his wife…ha

        1. I sometimes wore a dust mask when I cut the lawn at my house in B. C. because of how dry it was.

    1. My days in the 1950’s rigs sure are different to the Staged stuff posted… I worked Derick on my regular Shift & after 8 Hr’s drove to the closest Rig and got another 8 hr Shift on the Floor (This was Standard, Alberta) and every Rig on every Quarter Section was short staffed…You needed a full staff to change a Bit….

The Chain flipping was never a problem (controlled by driller) The danger came from morainic driller’s that used the DECK to break the Pipe Joints (Hold Back Cable on the “ONE” Mechanical wrench breaking and killing all the Rough Necks on the Deck….Using Both Wrenches was slower…. but safer… I had a Friend who was killed when he was wrapped around the pipe

On a normal drilling rig you added ONE pipe length @ a time as the bit went down , the Double pipe stacking occurred when pulling the Bit & changing… Up & back down… faster on a double or triple…

  11. The Black Americans are been used by Communist agitators & the MSM knows who they are….When burning & looting becomes the normal you have treason…. The Gov’t Snipers need to target the Communist leadership….

The NSA must track George Soros’s communications with street activists & Pelosi…. arrest the lot……
The Black American Community are been used by the Communist’s for a Political opportunity. It is sad that we refuse to engage these obvious corrupt actors….

    JMHO

  12. Great Leader has been ranting about nursing homes all week, but today no money for nursing homes. Just 650 million dollars for indians. This includes 250 million dollar supplement to their income from the government. Now that Blackie has banned parliament, his CBC has Blackie’s cabinet ministers explain how wonderful he is to bought and paid for journalists this morning.

  13. Great Leader held his daily media session early today so he could leave for his Harrington Lake resort. Justin reminds everyone else to stay home this weekend and wash your filthy racist hands.

    1. Played that album from Calgary to Fort St John and points north. Great for that 100+ km/hr long stretches up Hwy 2, 16, 49 and the Alaska Hwy. A few jigs and jogs to cut the corners and shorten the ride between Calgary-Edmonton, after that open road and up to 120 or so. The F-150 rode best, ’05 version.

    1. Damn I wonder what colour and garish contrast it will have after enough people mock the “Lipstick on this pig”.
      Or she could be lying.
      Naturally the latter best fits.

  14. The mask is for sick people and those in the medical field who work with sick people – you think the mask is for the medical person not to get sick? No it’s to prevent the healthy medical person from infecting someone who’s already sick. If/when the medical staff suspect a highly infectious case – they will don the appropriate medical attire.
The global economic lockdown of healthy people was an exercise in testing the herd stupidity level.
The ‘curve’ wasn’t flattened – just economies and personal lives, independent business, opportunities, and just perhaps the media hyped this all up from the get go.
But now they’ve got proof of how soft and compliant we all are.

    Yeah on that asteroid thought…

  15. The blackface bong disqualified hizself from ever commenting on race. He mocks race.

    1. Most racist government ever.Imagine the howling, righteous claptrap and posturing if the Government of Trudeau II passed an Order in council banning only natives from owning certain centre fire rifles.
Impossible to parody the fiasco of the “Hereditary Chiefs” from nowhere, being granted power over the elected band and band council..
Could government do that with any other “Race”?

Now it has been obvious for years, that Liberal Style creatures are the most racist vermin on the planet, with their soft words and constant demeaning of poor brown persons ,who will never rise to the level of full citizen, always needing “help” to live their lives, never being competent to accept responsibility or power..
But they keep getting elected, therefor CBC is right.
      Canadians are racist bastards.

      An accidental truth?

      1. You need to ask? The oppos are silent. Have you heard anything? Bought and paid for media or not, the oppos aren’t working very hard at getting their voices heard. And frankly, it’s past time for “talk” up here.

  16. The Dear Leader is killing off his citizens with free money:

“The unusual influx of money into the hands of those who are not habituated to it has resulted in a much higher use of drugs, and a substantial increase in drug overdoses and related deaths. Drug culture is surging, and as a result, supply is insufficient to meet demand.”

    https://ottawacitizen.com/opinion/gagnon-drug-use-in-ottawa-aided-by-the-cerb-subsidy-has-skyrocketed/wcm/f020d213-db0b-424e-ba15-a441fb762e94/

      1. I took the L.R.T. downtown yesterday — pretty quiet. There was good social distancing there. Three people smiled and said hello!! Something weird going on. Spring?

Property tax bill arrived this week, there is an increase of
7.68%. They squandered millions on an Olympic bid, wasted money on junk art and want to build a temple to the N.H.L.

Still, I wouldn’t want to live in the nation of P.Q.

        1. Mine on my house in B. C. went down by a smidgen from last year. Then again, Fort St. John’s been taking quite a beating lately.

  17. Got my: “ANNOUNCEMENT OF A FIREARMS PROHIBITION” from the RCMP in the mail today.

I’ve been over the list and I don’t have any and I also only have a PAL.

“On May 1, 2020, the Government of Canada reclassified the following firearms and devices as prohibited:
    *Nine (9) types of firearms by make and model, and their variants;
    *Firearms with a bore of 20mm or greater, and those capable of discharging a projectile with a muzzle energy greater than 10,000 Joules;
*Upper receivers of M16, AR-10, AR-15 and M4 pattern firearms.”

Gee, how would the Government of Canada like it if the ten (10) Provinces of Canada prohibited it from orders in council? Or just stripped it of its power altogether.

Canada is a DUMP under Trudeau the Dictator.
    Wexit

    1. Canada is a DUMP under Trudeau the Dictator.

It’s been a dump ever since PET took a dump on this country. The fact that this has been tolerated for over 50 years tells me that my fellow citizens are political masochists.

  19. The crabapple tree in the backyard is in full bloom now, it’s a lovely pink color. Nearby, there is a double flowering plum bush — all pink–
looks like popcorn. Peoples’ heads turn to admire when walking by.
