  1. pResident Tweety needs to be thrown off Twitter because he is undermining the media and controlling exactly what the public thinks. As Mika Brzezinski accurately states in this clip, that is the media’s job!

H8 has no place on Twitter! Neither do conspiracy theories!

          1. No Pat is a satirist, always has been and always will be, much smarter than those that think he/she is a progressive. You should really listen to utube clip.

          2. Sorry Greg if Pat was as you say one would see it in what is written as so called satire. I for one do not and I am not the only one.

“Poe’s law is an adage of Internet culture stating that, without a clear indicator of the author’s intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the views being parodied.”

  2. I’m beginning to wonder just how close western civilizations are getting to civil wars. The level of hatred between factions is at an all time high, never mind the increasing levels of tyranny every time a far left party has control.

  3. Presidents job is enforce the laws.
Fakebook, google and comrades have a special exemption from being treated as publishers, but they have been acting as publishers by censoring, commenting and vanishing posts.
So are they fish? Or Foul?
Whatever President Trump produces will cause Liberal Heads to explode..
Tomorrow a fresh deluge of TDS descends upon us.

  4. Back to the Jacksonianism, this was the red necks contract with the government and its minions.
A small amount of interference and theft is tolerable.
    A lot is not.
We are at one hell of a lot of stealing and guaranteed to get worse.
The last thing our parasitic overload want,is the undivided attention of the tax payer.
This total shutdown of the taxpayer and very well paid holiday for the rules and regulates you crowd, might just do the trick.

Doesn’t matter. S.230(c)(1) of the CDA grants them explicit protection from publisher liability for what they’re doing. Now, they’re grossly abusing the intent of S.230(c)(2), but (c)(1) and (2) are the only things that allow the web as we know it to function. There is no better option (well, aside from soi-disant conservatives finally putting on their big boy pants and not whining that they can’t use someone else’s computer for free). I fear Big Social Media has tricked Trump into stepping into a tar pit on this issue. If he removes S.230 protections, then the big players will adjust – they have the money, the lawyers and the AI tech to manage the inevitable fallout. But every single blog, forum, mastodon instance and podcast aggregator instantly shuts down, forever.

Which is kind of what Big Social Media wants, isn’t it? Have you not wondered why the big players haven’t been screaming at the top of their lungs about this threat?

    1. Daniel, I thnk Trump knows what he is doing. There will be one hell of a court battle, and discovery will sink the big boys, and Trump knows it. Ford pardoned Nixon for that very reason, discovery would have brought all the evidence of the JFK thing out for public viewing, and the CIA and FBI did not want that, and who wins the court case would just be incidental, and have NO real value >

      1. and discovery will sink the big boys

How? What evidence is going to be revealed that they’re doing anything worse than they already are?

    1. Not really the same as Twatter pretending to be “fact checking”. Wise up, Comrade.

  6. I’m too tired to do a better job so I will just say this

Twitter being a private company, they are allowed to do what they want, ok I get that

but isn t that like saying Pepsi is a private company so if they want to put rat poison in Pepsi they are allowed to do that?

when a private company has so much power that they can silence half of the USA population, I don t care about the legality of it

    it has to stop.

I hope Trump destroys them, crushes them like the insects that they are

If I was Trump I would have done it 3 years ago

    1. Agreed. Let the Big Social Media platforms hire armies of H1b Visa Lawyers from India. Go for it … but it might cut into Jack Dorsey’s hydrotherapy baths and all the minders he hires to care for his personal well being.

    2. Twitter isn’t silencing anyone, they just don’t want to be a platform for spreading disinformation and racism.

      1. That is exercising editorial control, which makes them a publisher.
Once deemed to be a publisher, they are liable for EVERYTHING posted on their site. All hate speech, all copyright infringement, all defamation.

S230 gives PLATFORMS immunity in these cases, and transfers liability to the users responsible for posting, and is essential for social media to function. Any platform that chooses to exercise editorial control and becomes a publisher will soon be out of business due to the legal costs. Especially since I imagine if twitter were declared a publisher, the chans would run an op posting lots of copyrighted content just to sink them for the lulz.

They have all been playing fast and loose with the rules regarding platform vs. publisher for a while now.

  7. The Trumpster silenced the MSM. He knew what they are and took his message straight to the proles via Twitter. He didn’t need them.

The social media types had best tread lightly with Trump – he knows this game and if he has to take them down – he will.

  8. Fantastic link, that “I’ll kill you”. Makes one realize how important the United States is for the world as a successful beacon and leader against totalitarian thinking and elite-dominated countries everywhere, including, unfortunately, Canada. Joseph Ellis’ superb book First Couple: Abigail and John Adams made me realize how much countries have personalities and traditions. In that book I was amazed to read how vicious, lying politics was there right from the start in the USA, how the hero of the revolution George Washington in a few short years during his presidency became victim of the most under-handed deliberate blatant political assassination. By comparison, the Pelosi Kavanaugh stuff looks mild.

Canada still mostly works under the motto of “peace, order and good government” (though we are going through a low point on point 3 at the moment), a country of cautious obedient people. Those who complain about wimpy cowed citizens need to remember the British loyalists who came here at the time of the American Revolution.

  9. Fantastic play by the Master Manipulator. I’ve asked before if Trump plays chess or just runs on his gut instinct. Here we see him undermine Morning Joe and by extension MSNBC. CNN and all the rest fall into line by shrieking how unfair Trump is to accuse by innuendo and supposition backed up by old fake news reports and manufactured evidence. The populace nods with joy “schadenfreude”.
At the same time MSM, in their elitist liberal sheltered enclaves pushes Big Social Media into the trap forcing them to show their underhanded bias, dirty dealing monolithic absolute power.
And the Junior Varsity Team running Twitter and Facebook and YouTube/Google fall for it and Trump puts them on notice that HE might very well be the one doing the censoring.
The dogs can’t help themselves and single-mindedly follow the thrown ball every single time. What would Mika’s rant about Trump’s tweet been about if said tweet hadn’t been made? Just another half hour blaming Trump for China’s culpability.
So five months before the election Trump has distracted the framer’s of the narrative, warned them to play fair, (not that they will) forced them to expose their bias and for-warned them that two can play their game. With a Vengeance.
    Offence is the best defense?

    1. He’s manipulating his way into being a one term president and terminating the political right.

  10. Twitter guidelines are purposefully vague so they can mean whatever twitter wants them to mean after the facts. They are not applied evenly, as there are numerous examples.

The real issue is are they still just platforms, or are they acting as publishers with an editorial policy. S230 does not need to be repealed, all that is required is to declare violators to be publishers.
