    1. Are there Canadians stupid enough to download this app willingly? Probably.

It’s amazing how many sheep have been bred by our nanny state, probably impossible to make them think at this point.

      1. 85% of Chinadians said they are ready, willing and able to report on others who aren’t doing what the government says they should be doing.
We’re past nanny state. Its early and ‘mild’, but its Big Brother Fascist Land now and the longer Juthtin of Blackface has power and the longer the Corrupt Liberals are leading a coalition government or in a majority, the worse it will get.

        1. Pierre, no doubt, would be proud. His “vision” for Canada is finally coming true.

    2. There is a story, often told, that upon exiting the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens asking what sort of government the delegates had created. His answer was: “A republic, if you can keep it.” The brevity of that response should not cause us to under-value its essential meaning: democratic republics are not merely founded upon the consent of the people, they are also absolutely dependent upon the active and informed involvement of the people for their continued good health.
      – Excerpt from Perspectives on the Constitution: A Republic, if you can keep it by Richard R. Beeman, Ph.D.

    1. I’m not surprised at that.

I’ve been watching Torstar’s stock for many years. I started doing it at the recommendation of my former broker and its price back then was around $10. Today, it closed at $0.40, dropping 17% from its opening value.

Keep in mind that Torstar is more than just a publisher of news. At one time, it also published Harlequin romance novels.

      1. They still are publishing fantasy work BA along with a huge pile of bullshite .

        1. True, but who needs to publish romance novels when all one has to do is run a few stories about PM Adonis, complete with pictures?

    2. That’s great! Maybe.

Bitove and Rivett have said they will continue to follow the Atkinson Principles which essentially says,” hey,we’re for the little guy”.

That, unfortunately has morphed into it now being the Liberal Party Newsletter.
With slavish, drooling devotion to all things Liberal Party.
And the corresponding Trump-like coverage(I’m not kidding) of all things Conservative.

As a former subscriber, I credit them for several Federal and Provincial Liberal election wins, including The Dope’s 2 recent federal wins. It took 18 years of McGuilty and Wynne ugly to get a provincial Conservative government.

So any change has got to be an improvement.
Love those memories of a Reform meeting booing Tonya McCharles of the Red Star.

Sure would be nice to see the Star go all Fox News.
The CBC talking head explosions would be epic.

      1. Actually her name is Tonda and she is a Liberal Party apologist par excellence.
        Masquerading as a journalist.
        A very Canadian tradition apparently.
She makes red rosy selfie barton look non-partisan.
CBC is like boot camp for junior communists/liberals.
The Red Star is finishing school.
Let’s just hope the Red Star is finished.

    1. That’s news to me. I’ve been wearing an industrial dust mask during my recent trips to my house in B. C. and the airport security didn’t say anything.

      1. The mask thing still confuses me. Apparently none of the masks being used by the average person is capable of stopping anything that is less than .3 microns, which the whoowho flu virus is less than. That after one hour of wear they are useless as anything other than a bacteria trap and maybe even a virus incubator. I don’t really know, other than it has been published.

        1. OWG, your mask does nothing to protect you, it is to protect others. When you cough it will stop the droplets from your mouth and thus limit the chance that you spread the plague. Same way when others cough and wear a mask they protect you.

Since a huge proportion of people can go through the disease without symptoms it makes sense. All countries that managed to contain the Wuhan flu more or less effectively, widely use masks based on the “you protect me I protect you principle”.

          1. Colon……. obviously then if you are wearing one I do not have to. And no it does not protect me.

    1. B A :

If that is earth and moon,. 1.4 billion k distant, is there something filtering out other heavenly bodies, stars etc?

      1. That picture could have been a shorter exposure with the earth and the moon being among the brighter objects that could be seen. Reflected light from Saturn and its rings could have overwhelmed the camera had that exposure been longer.

Interestingly, I had a similar perspective, but the other way around, when I first saw Saturn through my telescope. The planetary disk and its rings were clearly visible, as well as two smaller objects (which I assumed to be the moons Titan and Rhea). What made it all stand out was that the background was completely devoid of other objects, at least for the length of time that I was looking with my telescope set up on my balcony.

That view made it clear to me just how far away it was.

      1. I read a story that Kingsley said that he made a comfortable living from the royalties for that song. Considering how many different versions there are, I’m not surprised.

        1. That version made me chuckle. Interestingly enough, it sounds credible.

      1. Has anyone tallied how many hours Trudeau has been in the House of Commons since January 1? It would be fun for Rebel News or some other dissident news media organization to confront him with this total and ask why isn’t he collecting CERB because no one could consider him to be fully employed.

        1. That, of course, is one reason Dear Leader is trying to shut down Rebel. His bought-off trained seals in the other media services will never ask him that, so he won’t have to make up an answer.

  1. Oh well, more people pointing out facts that prove that the S word id still applicable.

  2. Blackie’s CBC reports this morning that Canadian racist bastards are running rampant in B.C.

  3. Blackie’s Toronto Star lets its readers know that they don’t have to worry that the Star will no longer be a Liberal Party propaganda rag. It has hired former Liberal premier David Peterson to help run things.

  4. Riots last night in Minneapolis Minnesota after a black man, George Floyd dies in police custody.

    https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/riots-in-minneapolis-raw/

Scroll down to the ten minute video of the actual arrest. The officer placed his knee across the dead man’s neck for way too long. I think George Floyd died in the video.

I normally support the police. Not in this case. This was flat out abuse, and IMO manslaughter. This was as bad as their last murder, where a Minneapolis Police Officer shot an unarmed Justine Damond when she walked up to their squad car in her pajamas. The FBI started an investigation on Monday Night, just hours after the death. The FBI immediately started investigating on a Holiday Weekend Night – let that sink in.

Also, it is reported that Benjamin Crump of the Trayvon Martin case is representing the Floyd family. That alone will make this a circus.

    1. It wasn’t “ABUSE” – Its MURDER.
      Period.
1 to be convicted of MURDER
3 to be convicted of Accessory to the crime.

No other outcome will please Americans – Regardless of Skin Colour.

If not..?? then you will see RIOTING across the US that will make the Rodney King episode look like a simple temporary “misunderstanding”

  5. Read my lips: No New Taxes!
    https://nationalpost.com/news/tax-hikes-unavoidable-to-offset-raft-of-covid-19-spending-federal-budget-watchdog-says?video_autoplay=true

Until we get re-elected with a majority and then, Just Watch Me.
And they won’t be new taxes, just increases of the GST, Capital Gains, The Carbon Dioxide Tax.
Think Morneau and Juthtin The Dickspank of the Blackfaced Cottage give a pinch of flying squirrel shit if your wealth is taken?
You’ll be scuttled off to a home where you can shake your fist and bitch at bad food, beshitted bedsheets and overall bedlam.

The PBO says the GDP will fall by 15%. LOL. Try 25%.

    1. Earlier today, the Royal Bank and Bank of Montreal released their quarterly results. It’s no surprise that earnings for both were significantly down from before. On the other hand, their dividends remained unchanged, which is, I suppose, an encouraging sign.

      1. Those Divvies are in Loonie Dollars…value today around 0.72 USD. I’m surprised that the LV is still in play. What’s being produced to back it? The Yawn, or Yuan isn’t much better. Gold is down close on $30 US the last couple of days, so there goes that “Trump cratered the USD” meme. Buying CDN stocks paying USD divvies these days, in a USD account. Keep it in a USD account. I don’t make any predictions of what the Loonie will be worth by year end, especially after November 2020. I’m betting that US border remains closed, just because. Let’s see what happens to the Weng thing first.

    2. Once parliament resumes in September Trudeau will call a snap election for Oct. 5 or Oct. 19. If they get a majority then expect an across the board wealth tax of 10% by January 1, 2021. Don’t worry you will be able to make your payment by installments through the Canada Revenue Agency.

      1. Like Daddy, like son. Pierre got himself a minority government during his first re-election campaign, which was in 1972. That probably didn’t sit well with him, so we were back to the polls in ’74, giving him the majority he felt he deserved.

Then we were stuck with that SOB until he was unseated, however briefly, by Clarke.

Dear Leader probably figures that history will repeat itself for him.

      2. I agree – There will be a wealth tax. Look for a capital gains tax on the sale of your primary residence.

  6. B A, as the government continues to throw around money created out of thin air without corresponding increases in productivity, you can watch the purchasing power of any investments shrink like wool in hot water. My investments have been losing rapidly since I retired 18 years ago, on my own dime without a company or government pension at the time. I of course now get back some of the money I was forced to spend on government programs, but you would not want to be living on that. I still have enough to keep me going until I die, unless the liberal socialists really do manage to bankrupt the country and turn us into another Germany post ww1.

    1. The last time I took government money was when I was on the dole more than 30 years ago. (Some people might figure that I was doing so while I taught at a post-secondary institution, but the cheques didn’t have the provincial or federal government name on them.) A few months ago, I was sent a sheaf of papers that I’m supposed to fill out if I want to collect CPP and OAS as the government thinks I’m going to be a senior citizen later this year.

I’ve been living off my own cash and, more recently, my inheritance ever since I quit my teaching job. I’d prefer to push off collecting a government cheque for as long as possible. That would be one or two fewer items to account for on my income tax return.

      1. BA regarding the cpp and oas my goal is to live long enough to get as much of MY money back as possible.

        1. One aspect of collecting CPP and OAS for me is that it might put me into a higher tax bracket. There wouldn’t be any point in taking that money if I have to pay it back again because the government figured I had too much of an income.

Yeah, it’s a case of my money not being my money. It would be cheaper and easier for me to consider what I paid into the system to be gone for good.

          1. Yes, it may.

But consider that only the money that is earned in that higher tax bracket is taxed at the higher rate. So if adding the CPP and OAS put you $10K into the higher bracket, only that $10K is taxed at the higher rate, the other $8K is at the lower rate. If it means that $10K is in the 43% bracket, your still ahead 57% of the funds. (Approximated upon full benefit of ~ $18K and an income ~$70K)

I’m “retired” from private industry (no company plans, just personal plan) and now working as a contractor on multiple contracts, I don’t skip a contract just because I will not clear the same amount as I will still profit. Paying 43% on the high end of earnings sucks, especially seeing it wasted by various levels of gov’t, but I like what I do and not ready to settle down.

I’m of an age to collect but still working with a high enough income to not need it, turned off my income from my private pension setup too. I would be giving 43-48% of it back were I to take it now, plus a claw back on top. When I’m finally smart enough to actually retire, the CPP and OAS will be slightly higher due to not taking it now, which will help the private fund last a little longer.

Now, if Junior will leave CPP, OAS, TFSA and RRSP alone, I might actually have an income when I do decide to take a rest. I’m stocking up on my US$ cash, as I don’t think the future is so bright.

          2. BA, I have too much according to them but I don’t care as long as I am up a dollar they will pay.

  7. Occasionally, real journalism appears in the mainstream media. It is almost always in the National Post and, more rarely, in the Globe. Never, however, on the three major TV networks (CBC, CTV, Global), although Global News online sometimes surprises with an article that would not be approved by the Dear Leader. From today’s National Post:

“China is trusting the pandemic will divert the free world’s attention away from efforts to expand its influence in Hong Kong and the South China Sea.
The Trudeau Liberals – along with their willing accomplices in the NDP and Green Party – gave Beijing a helping hand in the House of Commons this week.”

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/john-ivison-beijing-gets-a-helping-hand-from-liberals-and-their-willing-accomplices?video_autoplay=true

  8. Blackie’s bought and paid for Globe and Mail reports that China has every right to be distrustful of the courts in the U.S.

    China is wonderful.

  9. “Thirty miles away, the Edenville Dam had just failed spectacularly, swelling the Tittabawassee River and sending floodwaters cascading toward Midland, Michigan, the corporate home of Dow Chemicals. The hydroelectric power company that owned the dam, built in 1924, had its license pulled in 2018 by the federal government due to doubts over its structural integrity. The state, however, inspected the dam—ten years older than the WPA—and deemed it sound. The dam operators twice lowered water levels in the months following license revocation, citing safety concerns. They brought the levels back to normal after the state filed a lawsuit in late April in defense of freshwater mussels endangered by the low water level.”

    https://www.city-journal.org/midland-michigan-floods

Well, how are those freshwater mussels doing now?
I wondered why two dam failures disappeared from the news so quickly.
Heck, they didn’t even try to blame them on global warming or Trump.

  10. NYC’s main hospital group — which runs nursing homes in that beloved city — donated mucho dolares to the Andrew Cuomo campaign — after which the good governor signed an immunity agreement for nursing homes, the Guardian says:
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/may/26/andrew-cuomo-nursing-home-execs-immunity

During the CNN brotherly love-ins, with host Chris Cuomo and Andrew Cuomo hamming it up, there seems to have been no mention of the hospital group’s payout, or the kickback agreement brother Andrew signed into law. Can’t understand why the two brothers seemed to have missed that.

  11. Justin groupie Rosemary Barton at the CBC let us peasants know that Quebec is doing a better job with nursing homes than Hitler Doug Ford. However its expected that the Quebec premier will ask for more money from Alberta for nursing homes in the nation of Quebec.

  12. The NDP has voted with the Liberals to essentially do away with Parliament until September, while they claim a crisis and extend emergency powers.
    Funny how simpatico they are.
Just as that Liberal leader Horvath kept McGinty and the Wynn in power for years,as they drained the wealth out of the Ontario Taxpayer into their comrades pockets.
    Oh did I say Liberal?
As if there is any difference between NDP and Liberal, all you need to know is you are Never Done Paying while they hold power .
When they aid and abet each others stealing, you eventually realize the Uni-Party loves you..well your wealth that is.
Anyone who is not underwater with debt in Canada is the new rich, who all politicians hold responsible for the politicians waste and overspending.
The sad part,is many of the Parasitic Class actually believe debt and the cost of government intrusion,is not their fault!.
Now we see Ontario Scheme writ large on the rest of Canada,Butts is a success.

  13. Well don’t that beat all. Glenn Campbell on the agony bag playing my favourite tune….

At least he had the thing in tune. Most pipers can’t tune the bag and the sound is akin to nails on a blackboard. He demonstrated his musicianship by inserting some trills. You don’t hear those everyday on the bag.

Good job Glenn Campbell. You’d expect a performance like that from a player of his calibre and he didn’t disappoint.

    1. With a name like Campbell, what else should he play? A Davidson whose parents came from Scotland said his mother hated all Campbells, particularly one named Kim Campbell. The Campbells did a little too much killing of a few too many clans a few years back. My Lowland Falconer ancestors keep their noses out of it.

  14. And now your diversity is our strength story for today. Blackie’s media reports that the brazen gunfight yesterday in diverse Toronto was between Rappers. But because of Great Leader’s efforts, no military weapons were used like tanks or fighter jets.

  15. Breaking: the BC court rule against Ms. Meng Wanzou, saying that more hearings are to continue, but that she cannot be freed as requested. Her court challenge was rejected.

  16. Breaking News! The judge has ruled against the Huawei executive. Expect hundreds of Canadians to be kidnapped by secret police in China.

  17. Blackie’s CBC is upset at the ruling. As the CBC explains it could effect the flights from China with all those masks Blackie is buying.

  18. While senior Canadians are living in nursing home squalor, True North reports that Blackie is spending 27 million dollars on Venezuela refugees. Well, seniors won’t get him that UN seat.

  19. Blacklock reports that Great Leader’s infrastructure bank is giving out one million dollar bonuses to its executives. Hey, its only taxpayer money.

  20. And now your Canadians are racist bastards story for today. Blackie’s Toronto Star explains that Canadians are racist bastards for referring to Indians who are drunk as drunken Indians.

  21. Meanwhile, Dear Leader Prinz Dummkopf the Supremely Magnificent (Long May His Wisdom Shine Throughout The Ages) shows once again what he thinks of any reporters that do not sing his praises:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quLkAj5fYUE

Well, if we didn’t approve of tactics like that, we wouldn’t have voted for him, right?

  22. B A
Sorry, but those bullies have always made me grit my teeth. Still.

Said this before and sayin’ it again:
Rebel News should change their .org name to something like
    “Freedom News”
Bexte should shout Free Press more often!

Friggin Frenchie Canadian thugs– that’s the most exciting thing for them all day. A few beers at the end the day and they’re laughing at les Anglos. PET really fixed it nicely for ‘dem dere frogs’. Easy jobs. Pensions. We either take this or we Wexit.

    We’re fools to stay.
    Wexit.

    Wexit.
    Wexit.
    Wexit.
