      1. And the reason you stay in that squalid dump is because you feel so comfortable there?

      2. No, you’re just like some homeless guy who walks by properties making incomprehensible noises pretending to be lucid.
Sometimes the homeless guy gets a little too close to the property and must be shooed off.
        That would be you.

      1. And as I have stated in the past, Ungoof, you don’t know shit.
Typical reaction of one that is willfully illiterate – seeing only what it wants to see and always through the Marxist lens of Orange Man Bad.

HCQ works perfectly fine in CONJUNCTION with Azithromycin and Zinc sulphate…combinations that ALL the Studies/Trials coming out with positive results have used.
HCQ on its own is a seemingly dismal failure.

        1. Nononononono! Xim/xer/xit’s an expert because xim/xer/xit has a degree in “life sciences”, thereby making xim/xer/xit an expert. I didn’t know that a defunct magazine offered degrees…..

          1. Thanks.

The reason it’s so easy to poke fun at UnMe is that the jokes write themselves and xim/xer/xit freely provides the material.

        2. There are no serious meaningful data supporting this notion. No real trials-ones that produce the quality of data required-have been carried out on this bizarre triple pack.

  1. Oh, Quell surprise. 92 % of the general population has never learned how to chomp the bit, get it on them, and live life in all of its messy, maturing, man upping glory. Real women too. Piss on the sad, pathetic basement dwelling fools and their furry costumes. I do feel marginally sorry for their fear of getting it on them. Safety-ism is their sorry plight. Shame on their stupid helicopter parents.
It makes me love more deeply the parents I had who reminded me that the world didn’t owe me a living and that you need to grapple with life like a Farking Spartan.
    Rant over. Peace.

  2. Rex at his best…

**The volume of sustained, emotive, one-dimensional reporting on the Trump collusion with Russia story has no parallel. It occupied every platform, from the smallest blog, to Twitter, Facebook, cable news, newspapers and mainstream broadcasters (in Canada as well as the U.S.), almost every day for nearly three whole years.

To put a cap on it, the establishment press and all its satellites got the biggest, most explosive story of the past century — Donald Trump was a Russian operative — wrong. It is the journalistic failure of our time.
So, where are the acknowledgements of this calamitous fiasco? The press leaps upon political failures, ineptitudes or malfeasance like a hungry tiger on a stray fawn. It demands commissions and inquiries and hearings “so this kind of thing will never happen again.” It demands penalties, and exposure, and a full record of which things were wrong.
Well what’s sauce for the political goose should be sauce for the journalistic gander. Let’s have a commission of inquiry into how the media got the story so wrong.**

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex-murphy-it-was-the-most-explosive-story-of-the-past-century-and-the-media-got-it-wrong?video_autoplay=true

For three years I endured the Russia Russia Russia Rant on QR77 in Calgary on every talk show. Danielle was the only fair minded host inviting guests from the “other” side… but the rest?? Orange Man Bad. Every Fri one of the Global News Washington Correspondence’s, Jackson Proskow mostly, came on the morning show and spewed Dem talking points. Every week! Breakenridge would only invite friendly Never Trumpers like David Frum or Rick Wilson. And we all know the Adler act at night. Now? Crickets!!
I quit watching Canadian or local newscasts so I wouldn’t know but has the Obama-gate story even received a mention? I’m guessing if it has it’s spun as a “conspiracy” or a “deflection”.

    1. Rex is lying. Collusion was proved and all the incoherent babbling by Rex won’t change that.

“Donald Trump was a Russian operative — wrong”

In which Rextard berates the media for getting a story wrong while grossly mischaracterizing the mainstream media story. This guy can’t read or write apparently.

      1. Collusion was proved? That’s odd, the Mueller proctological exam of Trump and everyone associated with him found precisely nothing. Not only did they not tie Trump to Russia, they couldn’t find even one American who had. That’s after three years and unlimited resources.

        1. “the Mueller proctological exam of Trump and everyone associated with him found precisely nothing.”

Another lie. Actually Mueller found collusion aplenty just not criminal conspiracy, which is different. Collusion is not a crime per se.

“Not only did they not tie Trump to Russia, they couldn’t find even one American who had. ”

More lies. For example, Kushner did indeed meet with a sanctioned Russian bank head. Doesn’t demonstrate that he’s a pawn but that’s beside fisking your ridiculous statement.

          https://www.factcheck.org/2019/04/what-the-mueller-report-says-about-russian-contacts/

        1. Uninformed posts articles and hopes nobody reads them. Here’s a summary of fact checkers needing fact checking.

          1. Trump actually thought about Trump Towers in Moscow. Laughable, that’s an example of collusion. Here’s a better one, Obama leaning over to the Russian PM saying he’ll have more flexibility after the election.

          2. Trump might have wanted to travel to Russia or have some one do so in his stead. More humour. No evidence he got anybody to try to visit Moscow and again who cares? Another crime in futile search of evidence. What’s the crime Unsmart? Be specific by statute; also provide actual evidence of the article’s albeit meaningless accusation.

          3. By far the most hilarious. Misfud, a government plant trying to entrap Popadopolous. Where is Mifsud BTW?

          4. Maybe this is even funnier. Trump gave a speech about improving Russian relationships. Only a spy would to that. But Obama told Romney the cold war was over and Russia was not an enemy. Is Obama a traitor Undone?

          5. NRA and Putin. Too ridiculous to even address, nothing but hearsay and a smoking gun with blanks.

          6. Trump Tower Meeting. Here we see Untellectual at their incurious best, unaware that the Russian lady was sent there by Fusion Head Simpson, whom she met before and after the Maginsky meeting. I wonder, Hillary commissioning a foreign spy to get Russian disinformation to use as dirt against a political opponent. What about that Unbeknownst?

More nonsense, Page the policy wonk went to Russia, as a specialist and also working with the FBI. Plus Sessions met with Kislyak. OMG. Unbright should be embarassed at posting such demonstrable garbage, but isn’t.

Uninformed forgot to mention espionage convictions against Trump and his family. Oh right, never happened.

Thanks for the best joke of the day. Remember Untruthful, we’re laughing at you, not with you.

      2. Collusion was proved? Really?

Let’s assume the Russians wanted Trump elected? Is that a crime? Breaking what law? … Oh the collusion law!

Russia has interfered in every US election, and most other western elections since the 1950s.

China is now interfering in the US and western election. Will Joe Biden be accused of collusion?

And as for The holier than thou Americans, name a country where Americans have not interfered in that country’s elections. Obama clearly colluded with Trudeau. Obama tried very hard to influence the Brexit vote.

Hillary spent something like $900 million on her campaign. She should have hired the Russians! They spent what, a million? Nah, Hillary just ran a poor campaign. Time for Democrats to get over it.

      3. At least there are actual sentences here, meds have kicked in. You would think there is someone on your ward who could help you with this.

        1. Nah.

Normally, xim/xer/xit spews incomprehensible drivel. It’s just that this time, the laws of probability worked out in xim/xer/xit’s favour. Remember what was said about an infinite number of monkeys with an equal number of typewriters and the complete works of Shakespeare.

    2. I too have quit watching Canadian or local news, pardon me propaganda, and fortunately have a cable box that allows removing channels from the menu. This is beneficial in that I don’t have to see their logos which just reminded me I am still paying for it and at a premium price I might add. Cut the cable you say? The CRTC was invented by Liberals and they are if nothing else, very clever in denying access to information. If I cut the cable, I lose Fox news, the only worthwhile news channel. their website and app is more of an an adjunct and even there some stories are blocked due to CRTC regs. So, a $5 add on channel ends up costing $40 if I want to see it so that the ruling elites can pay off their media lackeys.

  3. Dog Ford says he can’t believe the numbers, meaning volume of positive, of those tested. I don’t either but not for the same reason the test are basically meaningless. Some have been as high as 50% false positives and have been all over the place with results. Useless, as a test today could be different tomorrow or the next day.

  4. Happy Ramadan Ding Dong! Levy at the Toronto Sun writes about this year’s Al Quds hate fest in diverse Toronto. Because of the lockdown the Jew hating event was held virtually. Lots of diverse rants how Jews spread the virus and Israel is evil.

    Diversity is our strength!

    -Justin Mohammad Trudeau

  5. O J, ram a lam a ding dong death numbers are not making the headlines these days but so far it has been 2957 fatalities and they were not caused by cov2.

  6. Blackie’s CBC is excited that a former campaign consultant to Trudeau is now campaign manager for Dementia Joe Biden. I wonder if she will have China Joe wear blackface?

    1. Maybe not, but she’ll likely be required to pass the (hair) sniff test.

  7. Good Terry Glavin column slamming the corrupt Trudeau government for snubbing Taiwan, embracing the Xi dictatorship:
    https://ottawacitizen.com/opinion/glavin-taiwan-is-everything-canada-should-admire-instead-we-bow-to-beijing/

Glavin is a social democrat, but one of the most articulate pro-democratic-rights writers in Canada (there aren’t many). The corrupt Ottawa press corps lazily accept Liberal government bromides, and accept the Chines interference in Canada, without questioning our government. A pity.

    1. It’s just part of the scam: Some pimped out liberal fires a shot across the bow of the Good Ship Blackie to remind him that it’s time to stuff their media envelopes with our cash again.
This time it was Glavin’s turn.

“Nice government you got there kid, it’d be a shame if anything was to happen to it.”

      1. Glavin is consistently anti-China, and has been for many years. Always a good read.

  8. Fatah at the Toronto Sun website, writes on how the islamic call to prayer in Canada is being used to blare out hatred towards Jews.

  9. More MSM Bull Sh*t.

You CAN’T buy a legal Handgun in Canada without first Registering it. From there it’s traceable to the owner ALWAYS, unless the owner sells it to another Licence firearms holder who then must Register it with the RCMP in their name.

The media would have the public believe that a LEGAL firearms owner can simply walk into a store, buy a handgun and then just sell it off to anyone without any traceability or consequences for the original purchaser. Simply BS.

“Northern Alberta man charged with firearms trafficking”
    https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/northern-alberta-man-charged-with-firearms-trafficking-1.4947079

    1. Maybe the sellers were unfamiliar with Canadian procedure and just handed over the gun assuming the purchaser would register it. If I remember correctly, the purchaser has to take the bill of sale to the police and get a conveyance permit which allows the purchaser to convey the gun to the police who measure it and check the serial number. In much of the US, if you buy from a private owner, you hand over the cash and walk out with the gun – no criminal record check and no registration. Note – it is illegal for a non-resident alien (a Canadian) to possess a gun in the US unless they are a properly registered hunter.

      1. You missed a step – until it is registered to him (which can take weeks), he cannot take possession of it in the first place.

And I don’t know how it works in Alberta, but further East you must belong to a gun club to own a restricted firearm (do NOT call it a “weapon” – the ensuing gum-flapping will bore you to death). And if you lose your gun club membership, the Provincial CFO can show-up on your doorstep, RCMP in tow – “You are no longer a gun club member, so you no longer have an excuse to own your restricted firearm. Hand it over.”

Which the clubs use to dampen-down the “enthusiasm” of a few of their less-restrained members – and it has to be that way. Any complaint from the public* – especially re: unsafe handling – can have the CFO on their doorstep in an hour-or-two, and he can close any club with just his say-so.

        * – unless of course he is aboriginal, or a spouse-abusing alcoholic with no firearms license and a large collection of guns brought-in illegally from the ‘States; then he can do what he wants and the RCMP will leave him strictly alone, however often the neighbours complain.

    1. The State of Michigan took over regulatory responsibility for the dam two years ago, and rather than making the dam owner fix the dam, or drain it, they dawdled. This month a State Judge ordered the dam owner to raise lake levels behind the dam, ostensibly to save freshwater mussels in the lake, not to make the lake cabin owners happy.

Then, when the rains came, there was no way to store all the new rainwater, so it went over the top of the dam. Sounds like Reichsfuhrer Witmer of Michigan has some explaining to do. Her State Government did nothing to prevent the dam failure. You thought the Flint Drinking Water Fiasco was bad? This is 1000X worse.

The only good news is the dam is so thoroughly destroyed, it will never be rebuilt. Of course that screws over all the lake cabin owners, and has definitely killed all the mussels the environmentalists were trying to protect by filling up the lake behind the dam. Oops!?!

I wonder if the judge will realize how badly he screwed up?

      1. I wonder if he’ll pay a price for it? Just as I wonder whether Gov Cuomo will face manslaughter charges for all the oldies killed in New York by COVID after he pushed COVID-sufferers into their old-folks-homes?

I’ll take the “no” on both, Alex…

  10. Wear a mask, don’t wear a mask, which is it? What has changed from the first “expert” advice telling us not to?
Has it anything to do with the fact they were in short supply due to high demand?

Will someone tell me how wearing a mask doesn’t protect you but protects others from you?
Why does it not also protect the wearer, especially from those who speak “moistly”?

    1. The story on the masks may have something to do with the federal government shipping 16 tonnes of personal protective equipment to China between Feb. 4 and Feb. 9 — items “such as clothing, face shields, masks, goggles and gloves” in collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross.

While the Chicoms were getting the WHO to cover-up the transmission and spread of the virus since back in Dec. 2019 -they were getting their hands on whatever PPE they could for themselves knowing full well what was going on. And so Ottawa gave our PPE to the Chicoms.

Some on this site are of the opinion it’s not a pandemic and it doesn’t matter we got played by the Chicoms cuz just a few are dying.

    2. Heard two assholes talking on the radio saying they would give non mask wearers a dirty look. I’m thinking that’s a good way to get your teeth stove in.

  11. And now today’s episode of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. Big Chief Gay Eagle With No Balls will be throwing money down the cottage steps to whiny Indians who live off the reserve.

    1. “The French Connectiom” is playing on one of the Hollywood Suite channels, at 11 am Eastern, and I would rather watch Gene Hackman play Popeye Doyle than see Trudeau play in front of a crooked Ottawa press corps.

      1. One is about a Frenchman who pushes dope. The other is about a dope who speaks French.

  12. Go back to Feb/Mar and review what Dr. Tan was saying about wearing face masks. She considered wearing masks as dangerous as C-19 would linger in the masks and cause infection. Yesterday that changed to it being OK to wear non
medical masks. What is actually going on here? What is the real story? Canadians are not getting the truth from our
‘experts’ who are supposedly up to speed with dealing with pandemics. SARs was supposed to provide the science for dealing with the C-19 virus and PPE.

    1. Personally I believe that Covid collecting in masks and being re-breathed is a problem, as is reduced oxygen (20%). With most masks, the virus can penetrate, so not much protection. It does, however, prevent you from leaving bits of virus on surfaces or in the air where you shop, for example. So there may be some mitigation on you spreading the virus generally, but they do not really protect you personally. What is not useful at all is wearing the masks outside where the virus will quickly dissipate and be destroyed in sunlight.
Something I read at an early point indicated that you did need to get a certain amount of the virus for it to take hold in your system. This is less likely with casual contact. The closed environment in a nursing home allows concentrations to develop, circulate in ventilation systems, and of course the people there already have weakened immune systems. I don’t think the more general lockdown has done much as a health measure. (I still marvel at the very, very small number of deaths in India. With their population, they could hardly be doing much social distancing.

        1. Maybe only an idiot doesn’t know hydroxychloroquine is not prescribed by itself, but with zinc and azithromycin, etc.

        2. Not likely all 1.3 billion of them, but if so,well then, there is your answer. No vaccines needed. They are doing something right. Why is it not being investigated?

      1. I read somewhere and forget where, but it was said that masks are not helpful to the person wearing it especially if one is asthmatic. Makes sense if, as you say, one gets reduced O2 by 20%.

  13. Terence Corcoran: Stop the rise of anti-capitalist conservatism

    https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/terence-corcoran-stop-the-rise-of-anti-capitalist-conservatism#comments-area

The comments are amusing. There’s one guy claiming that ‘Wal Mart isn’t capitalism’ (it very much is). And there’s the money quote from another: “The 180 from conservatives over the past 15 years is mind-boggling. You are now doing what you used to criticize liberals of doing. You used to call it communism, but now you’re the communists.”

    1. You haven’t noticed in Canada, at least in the past, that the same people who voted Conservative would likely vote NDP instead of Liberal. The Liberals are the party of Bay Street. Conservatives are the party of small business and competition.

      1. To the extent this is true it is the simple doom of the Conservative party and the political right. Bay Street powers Canada, including small business and competition.

        1. The Desmarais family “powers” Canada. Liberals infect the Desmarais’ (and vice-versa.) Bay Street is just along for the ride.

  14. BREAKING NEWS!!!!!
Actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband are pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud, in the well-publicized college admissions scandal. She faces 2-3 months in prison, and he faces 6 months in prison (both have to pay hefty fines). Both faced multiple charges if the case had gone to trial.

  15. This is racist and stuff, because, you know, China…

“In September of this past year, a very senior level Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) official named Cameron Ortis was arrested for a number of charges including one under the security information law, which is used to prosecute espionage cases. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Ortis was the director-general of the RCMP’s National Intelligence Coordination Centre. As such he had almost unlimited access to both Canadian intelligence and the large volumes of classified information shared by the Five Eyes allies. ”

    snip

“This is far from the first Chinese intelligence success in Canada. As recently as July of 2019, Canadian authorities removed Xiangguo Qiu, her biologist husband Keding Cheng, and an unknown number of her students from the only level IV lab in Winnipeg, Canada because of their cooperation with China. Again, the extent of the Chinese intelligence success was downplayed and the case referred to as an “administrative matter” and sent to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Qiu is known for her viral research including on a treatment for the Ebola virus and on the SARS virus, which is the same family of virus as COVID-19. The Canadian Security Intelligence Service has long warned of state-sponsored espionage and has noted China as a particular problem.

There have been any number of warnings about aggressive Chinese intelligence operations from the FBI counter-intelligence offices and a number of other services around the world, not to mention the high number of individuals arrested or imprisoned for spying for China. While there is wide reporting on the Chinese penetration and infiltration of many Western governments, the US Intelligence Community (IC) and our allies are sorely lagging behind defending against this aggression.”

    https://americanmilitarynews.com/2020/05/china-seems-to-have-infiltrated-canadas-highest-intelligence-agency-and-its-not-the-first-time/

I ‘ctrl/F’ searched for ‘china’ in eight CBC stories on this guy and got no results.
    (scratches head )

    1. There should be painting #2 to go with that. It’s where Dear Leader turns around and orally cleans the poo residue off the Chief’s wicker-whacker.

  16. HE’S BACK!
    He’ll be heading up the T.F.R.R. —
the new Task Force on a Resilient Recovery:

“The group – anticipating massive government stimulus spending – is seeking to direct funding to what they see as parts of the economy key to building a ‘green economy.’ ”

    See more info here:
    https://www.spencerfernando.com/2020/05/19/butts-pushing-new-movement/

Will he be called Climate Gerry now? Thought we had a Minister for that.

    This stinks. It really stinks.

    1. P.M.O.C. J.T:
“Oh Gerrrwhery, I missssssed you sssooo!  Com’ere– we’ll reconnoiter.”

Seriously folks, this is about really screwing Alberta even more. They don’t want our filthy money.

      1. Oh, they want our “filthy” money, but they really want the reason why we make it even more. If Albertans were “good” Canadians, we’d hand over the oil sands to their “rightful” owners in Quebec instead of being so selfish and claiming them for ourselves.

        1. Its about control, isn’t it?
          But will Alberta get royalties?

From the link below, dated December 21, 2019:

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), has been given approval to drill in the Flemish Pass Basin, which is roughly 400 KM east of Newfoundland & Labrador.

Amazingly, this is happening at the same time as the Liberals put their boot on the throat of the Western Canadian Oil Industry.

Justin Trudeau vetoes oil and gas projects by Canadian companies.

But he rolls out the red carpet for China’s state-owned oil company.

Reminder: Chinese companies like @huawei are major donors to Liberal front groups like @canada2020 and @fdnPETF”

          https://www.spencerfernando.com/2019/12/21/disloyal-trudeau-liberals-allow-communist-china-oil-company-to-drill-for-oil-in-canadian-territory/

          1. And to think that the reason Petro-Can was established was to “nationalize” the Canadian oil industry. Then again, it was headed by Mo Strong, so the company may as well have been Chinese.

I was working in Calgary when it all started. I don’t recall any colleagues who liked the idea of Petro-Can. There’s a reason why its headquarters building (built after I moved to Vancouver) was nicknamed Red Square.

    2. Just awful. You just know that those getting funding will be Liberal friends. This is what they always do. I am disgusted.

        1. Of course he didn’t, Turdo and Butts are joined at the hip…and not side by side!

    3. They’re putting the band back together.

Every rent seeking useless hack will be on the board. The usual suspects with a shit load of government funding telling us taxpayers what we’re doing wrong.

  17. Canadians who believe in Equalization. Believe in Marxism. Ask your Premier why he is a Marxist. Equalization is entrenched Marxism. “From Each According To His Means, To Each According To His Needs” Karl Marx/P.E. Trudeau. Equalization Trudeau’s word for Karl Marx’s Philosophy

  18. QR77 Danielle Smith this morn.

Federal Gov – thru Pension funds – owns 100% of Revera,
Biggest player in sr citizen care? In Canada?
    2nd biggest in north America?

No time to dig into this now but believe this is a big, big story. All the usual suspects & more

    1. Pension funds own small portions of basically every publicly-traded company, usually through index-funds and other similar investments. There is nothing unusual about this. (Same goes for 99% of everybody’s RRSPs).

  19. Our little fascist dictator strikes again. Blacklock reports that a scientist was refused a grant because he said something negative about Blackie and his health agency.

    1. It started overnight here in Edmonton. It’s probably the regular farmer’s rain that falls around this time of year. Once seeding is done, a good bit of moisture like this and the crops are off to a good start.

I’m heading back to my house in B. C. in a few days time. I’ll likely see what effect that rain’s had but I think I already have an idea. What few brown areas on the grass in my part of the city that were remaining yesterday are slowly turning green. The local rabbits will be happy.

      1. Rabbits are in hiding here. I guess they must be busy.

Lawn was brownish here too. After a snowy winter, the heavily moguled features on the lawn lasted ’till April and then melted very suddenly. Did some lawn care by the book. Lawn is finally getting greener. This is a rainfall for the soul.

        1. The rabbits in my neighbourhood are probably hiding as well. Then again, they’ve been busy stuffing themselves over the past few days that they could easily skip a few meals.

          1. Some of the rabbits in the neighbourhood come onto the apartment grounds to graze. They can eat without stopping. Then, when they sense danger, they can find a convenient spot to lay low and stay still for hours, doing absolutely nothing but keep watch.

          2. I have several large 1x1x1′ rocks throughout the yard here that were discretely incorporated into the landscaping. They likely were uncovered when the house was built. I think the rabbits here blend in and pretend to be rocks. They are so cute. They too, stay put and sleep all day, if left undisturbed.

    2. Was in Cowtown yesterday and drove home through the rain. It’s always a BIG deal out here in the buck brush. We got 3/10th’s. It’s damn dry but as my old rancher buddy says, “Quit complaining as each day goes by we’re one day closer to rain.” Those lucky buggers in Jenner got 2″ – good for them.

      1. Lots of nice rain everywhere yesterday (Camrose, Stettler, Coronation). I finally saw bits of blue sky near Consort. Nearly slid off a goat trail into a deep ditch. I have to research whether car washes are open in Edmonton.

  20. Cities, like Vancouver, are cutting traffic lanes to make more room for pedestrians and cyclists. The argument is that people need more space because of Wuhan flu. It’s too bad individuals couldn’t be encased in an airtight box, that was self-propelled and contained some kind of air filtration system. Wouldn’t that be safer than exercising in public, which is what they’re suggesting? Oh, wait; a car fills that very need. Am I missing something here?

    1. Why don’t some people with money run for Edmonton City Council with the promise to kill bike lanes, increase the speed limit, and spend not one thin dime on commuter trains?

      1. They do, each and every election. Thirty percent (30%) of the population shows up, the green SJWs win, and the rest of us complain for three or four years. Tell everyone you know to get out and vote EACH and EVERY time. Every election is VITAL. Even for school board seats. Don’t let another 2014 happen again.

  21. Talked to a lot of people in the past 10 days. It seems the opinion out there is, lets return to normal. The virus is not near what we were sold by the health authorities and government. The numbers prove it.

Round 2 is coming. Batten down the hatches. This time the Proles wont be quite so gullible. We’ve seen how our political masters operate. They tell the Proles to stay home, don’t go to the cottage but do they stay home? No.

I’m operating as normal. Not taking undue risk but not living under a rock. Life has risk. If you want to live life you have to take a few risks.

    “Here’s to Life”, Shirley Horn.

      1. Hauntingly beautiful. Wynton added a tasteful and understated solo. Shirley could sing a ballad. What a great tune on a shut-in day.

Miles Davis who was largely a prick refused to play with vocalists – except for Shirley Horn.

        Oh the good life.

Shirley Horn put out some really great music, with hot stuff lyrics, if I may say. Listened to most of the concert from the Newport RI Jazz Festival from 08-15-92 this afternoon that the trio did. It was all instrumental. I got lost in it!

Saw a short video where she said she and Miles were great friends — where NYC was a big place and nobody touched Shirley because he would protect her. Pretty cute talk then!

          1. Some good stuff there NR.

I really wasn’t thinking of Shirley doing ‘Good Life’ but I’m glad you included it.

I can see why Miles liked her. She can sing a ballad so effortlessly and with such timing and taste.

I know I’ve quoted this in the past here but when asked why he no longer included ballads in his repertoire Miles replied that he quit playing them because he loved them too much.

          2. Hey, no problem.
I recall that Tony Bennett and Frank, I think, and no doubt, many others, did “The Good Life” too.

If she was on the Ed Sullivan Show, I must’ve seen her however I didn’t remember her. So thanks for the intro.
Think I’ll listen to her music later.

  22. Breaking news from CNN. CNN is outraged that Hitler Trump wore a mask in the Ford plant but not for the cameras. This is the worst scandal in American history. Did Putin order him not to wear a mask for the cameras???

    1. I hope Rebel wins. Free speech is vital to a free society.
We are in a dictatorship right now. Not good at all.
Trudeau should shut up for a change. See how he likes it.
I’ve no respect for that boy-child.

      1. What kind of a Canadian are you? Don’t you know that every word that Dear Leader utters is more precious than gold? Every noise he makes conveys more wisdom, more knowledge, more insight than all the combined thoughts and writings and speeches of all the sages and scholars in the last 1000 years.

(Spread that on a field and one will be guaranteed a bumper crop…..)

          1. Thanks.

The laws of probability seem to be working in my favour today.

  23. Tax records show the Penn Biden Center has paid Joe Biden $900,000.

Joe Biden described the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement as “a place where policy makers, here and abroad, will know they can be in touch with some of the best minds.”

This Center and two others Biden founded have refused to reveal the sources of their funding.

Is Biden copying copy Hillary and Justin re foundations?

  24. Heard through the Grape Vine that SNC Lanolin, Lanolin for Greasing Politicians Asses, got the contract to clean up Alberta’s Abandoned Oil wells.

    1. Fully expected.

Procurement is where the wheels get greased. Contracts awarded without bid. Handed to librano friends.

The libranos perfected theft. They are delivering in spades. All money goes through quebekkie. Let the good times roll.

    2. SNC has or had an office here in Calgary. Met someone who worked for them years ago. It’ll probably be sub-contracted. Just a guess.
Le Feds always take their cut.

      1. Knowing how certain companies work in that business, it’ll likely be farmed out to some fly-by-night outfit that does everything on the cheap.

        1. SNC does not own service rigs. So at least a little of their greasy Liberal cash will siphon down to the innocent and hard working.

  25. And now your Canadians are racist bastards story for today. Blackie’s CTV had Big Chief Pam of the famous Ryerson University tribe on this evening. She explained that the 75 million dollars that Blackie announced for urban Indians is not enough. This pathetic amount is obviously because of white colonialism.

  26. Why is this group being given extra money? Are they not eligible for payments like CERB? Are not some already on social assistance? What are the rukes here? What about the disabled? How about extra money for them. Surely they are having to deal with the same stresses as urban natives?

    1. Open season on vote buying.

No questions asked by our “media”, no serious questions allowed at the Daily Morning Show, no questions allowed on the twice-weekly Zoom conference from Ottawa.

Remember, university students got FIVE TIMES as much as the energy industry did, from the Liberal fire-hose ($9-Bil vs $1.75B).
Remember, university students got THIRTY-FIVE TIMES as much as the entire agriculture industry did ($9-B vs $0.252-B).
