Your Government Is Here For You

Trust the experts.

Politicians warned Wednesday Canadians can expect weeks or months of social distancing, but declined to reveal their own models or estimates of just how many people could become infected or die of COVID-19.

While federal and provincial leaders stressed the need for Canadians to maintain the fight against COVID-19, they refused to disclose models that project how the virus might play out.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said releasing projection models might prompt panic.

“There are a few different models and if we give one or the other it sends two different messages,” said Ford. “These models could drastically, drastically change. If we underestimate on one side and overestimate on the other (it could) create a panic if we overestimate.”

When asked about releasing information from such models, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “There are a wide range of projections depending on how Canadians are behaving.”

In Saskatchewan they refuse to even disclose where COVID-19 cases are.

  1. But Shiny says: how this turns out depends on us. In other words we’re going to spend an extra $200 Billion on what ever we want and if the virus kills folks it’s because you didn’t distance enough. A teachable moment!

    1. We are “led” by Idiots. Across Party lines, while they gave themselves a raise. Carbon Tax up April 1st, how apt.

    2. A WARNING FROM KEEAN BEXTE about the Canada Covid 19 App

      Urgent: DO NOT DOWNLOAD!
Justin Trudeau has released an “information app” for COVID19 in Canada.
With this app, Trudeau’s government can: access/record your exact location, stop your phone from turning off, and read ALL your network data.
Do not hand your phone over to Trudeau. https://t.co/aRcDT3xxjI

    3. Sounds like the Budget isn’t balancing itself.

Would NOT sending millions and millions of dollars in Aid to Foreign countries not help Canada a little? Newfoundland is begging Trudeau for money, but I think theirs went to the UN last week.

As far as the homeless and soon to be homeless in Canada, have your minds at peace knowing that Trudeau continues to insure that tens of thousands of Syrian refugee’s are well housed in Canada through these hard times.

  2. I don’t want to see computer models of anything, they are all manipulated to give a result desired. G I G O. I want freaking truth and that is not what we are getting.

    1. Exactly OWG.

Nothing but outright lies: “masks will not prevent COVID” From that Neanderthal THAM, We are screening all passengers on incoming flights; From Patty Hadju the Graphic Designer hired for her having a vagina to Trudeaus Utter garbage of: “Our Border is closed”..except for anyone who self identifies as a refugee…And flights From CHINA continue unabated

This is what passes for “responsible government in a Pandemic in Kanada”

Zero Info on Obtaining needed medical Supplies..? Nothing.
Zero info on how may ventilators are needed..?
Zero Info on the 3 Drug Cocktail – Are we using it – if so what’s the results.? If not then WHY the F not.?

Nothing but DOOM n Gloom and its “all for your benefit” as the country gets inundated with 5G towers and the Economy completely Collapses.

      1. Saw one of those “fly in from Chinah” types at the Cancer Clinic yesterday, with her Chinah CCP “minder”. In for treatment, probably ’cause there’s doesn’t exist, the homeboy medical team is “quarantined” themselves, or dead more likely. Obviously a high “social scoring” dudette, or she wouldn’t be here. Likely one of many on those flights from Chinah coming in every day to an airport near you. Have a gander at: https://twitter.com/PhdParody for insight on “Life in Chinah Today”. Oh and she had a terrific KOFF in a “No Koff Zone”. Twice. I moved as far as possible from her and it was noticed, too. Vee are being vatched.

        1. It was noticed when I stepped out of the teller line up at the bank and swiftly left the building, because of one of those KOFFs.

      2. There’s ZERO chance the drug cocktail will be approved here because Trump talked about it and therefore it’s bad. Same with any vaccine out of the USA. They’d rather see you die than let anyone get the impression that Trump is right about anything.

      3. You see, Steakman, they take care of their own first.

Botto Line: For a drug that is so “debunked” it sure is getting traction with the insiders. So when Tam or Henry (the $hithead I have to deal with) say something, bear in mind they are diversity/equality hires for the most part. That’s what I do and it makes the Clown Show much more bearable.

      4. Don’t fall for the 5G tinfoil hat conspiracy bullshit.

Just because a few Woowoos post conspiratorial tripe on YT doesn’t make it true.

There’s no conspiracy to fry your brains, perform mind control, or to avoid the red jelly beans. Don’t be silly, stupid or paranoid!

      5. The three drugs are only needed in well advanced cases; just quinine seems to do the job if you are only at the early stages

    2. Man, you must be my age or close toit. GIGO, old as the hills term. Oh yeah, “toit”, as in “get around to it”. My step dad had that made into round wooden “get around to its”.

    3. BTW … did you know that on Feb. 1, 2020 … the CDC reported 19 million cases of Flu(s) this season (non COVID Flu(s)) … and recorded 10,000 deaths. As of Feb. 1. A “normal” flu season tallies 12,000 Flu deaths.

      https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/flu-season-continues-h1n1-diagnoses-picking-cdc-says-n1127391

But … we “needed” to shut down our entire economy and suspend all our Constitutional Rights. Right?

I predict, that we will eventually learn of the RUBBISH COVID numbers we’ve been fed … after learning how many COVID deaths were not what they were recorded as. The entire world has been PANICKED into doing China’s bidding. And the Globalist’s bidding (when the Yuan becomes the “world currency”). And the DNC’s bidding.

      1. The big disappointment here is Trump. He needs to start pushing back before our whole way if life is destroyed– as it would be if people actually listen to lunatics like Bill Gates (Gates: “We need to totally lock down all of the US”). I believe Trump is getting bad advice. In Canada they are making wild guesses, and pretending they are on top of things. It is a dangerous virus, but I believe the danger is way overblown, and it is not hard to see that the economic damage is real.

    4. I want collection of data first. The lack of which is appears common to government models.

  3. How is Trudeau fighting this?
Trudeau lectures us to stay home. Here are just 2 flights landing in Vancouver today:
MF805 Xiamen Air Xiamen Main 23 On Time
CZ4019 China Southern Xiamen Main 23 On Time
    Trudeau is a joke.

      1. Lampposts would do just fine. Leave them up until the bones separate as a warning.

    1. Yes, you need to stay at home to limit community spread. Blocking all flights probably doesn’t help much at this point it’s just not relevant.

          1. Yes you fucking idiot, at this point US too. Had the world locked Chicoms out initially we would not be in the mess we are today.

          2. “Had the world locked Chicoms out”

Well that’s never going to happen nor should it. About as helpful as telling people not to breath.

          3. Right, that would be much harder to accomplish than each civilized country going into internal lockdown for God knows how long and waiting for things to blow over for a period that will end when Chicoms or other shitholers infect them again. That is easy to accomplish and cheap too.

Oh, and you definitely should not breath.

      1. Hey UnMoron, shouldn’t you be out licking door knobs like a good little ChiCom tool?

  4. By the way, I think our current savior premier will be a one trick pony and I am a very conservative guy who supported the man.

  5. Oh well, there’s one good thing going to come out of all this.

Once Canadians get the bills for all the gravy the government is ladling out there’ll be such a demand for Vaseline that it will kick-start a new petroleum boom in the west.

  6. The most accurate indicator of the whether there will or will not be a deep recession and mass casualties is going to be the continued construction of subdivisions in the GTA. The construction mafia knows the reliable information first hand. Watch the new subdivisions. If the construction will continue at the previous rates then either there will be no depression, or C.A.N.A.D.A. is planning to repopulate with millions of Chinese. And yes, I am extremely cynical, but most of my forecasts are spot-on.

By the way, Marstar, Gotenda, Shooters Choice, Cabelas, Bass Pro, Frontier, Wolverine, Lever Arms, and other major gun stores in Canada are out of stock for most functional handguns in mainstream calibres below $1500, just like they are out of stock for ammunition. The panic buying had already occurred. I hope people are NOT buying them as an investment to be sold to raiders once the raiding begins.

Here’s my warning to everyone stockpiling guns: do not sell them to the raiders once SHTF. If you will, you will become legal targets just like the raiders.

    1. “C.A.N.A.D.A. is planning to repopulate with millions of Chinese”

      Goodness lets hope so.

TO has a construction problem-too little. The greenbelts are suffocating the city of needed suburbs.

      1. I am not on your side, dumb POS. You and your fed-bellied friends will hang first once SHTF.

        1. LOL it’s not happening. We’re not hanging. Don’t even think about it you’ll just get in trouble.

          1. The Romanian Securitate could’ve said the same thing in the 1980s. Look how it ended for them…

          2. We say this and now we have millions of immigrants on our side. By 2030 we’ll have many millions more. Your violent fantasies just keep getting tripped up by reality.

          3. Yes, yes, you salivate at the prospect of white genocide. Before you manage to accomplish it, you will be killing each other. Your beloved immigrants hate each other with passion and are not bound by political correctness. Canada is turning into a powder keg dumped in an outhouse.

      2. Yes, let’s bring more people loyal to the regime that is now killing people around the planet and paralyzing world economy. What could possibly go wrong? Worthless subhuman.

        1. ITT, collectivist retards project their collectivism onto their smarter, harder-working replacements.

“people loyal to the regime that is now killing people around the planet and paralyzing world economy”

I was talking about Chinese not Trump supporters.

          1. East shit subhuman. Chicoms do not get passports without a high social credit score, therefore every Chicom with a passport is a collaborator.

  7. Haha…nice voting morons.

Canadians are so stupid, I bet they’ll vote for him again.

    1. Let me rephrase that Johnny..

Eastern Canadians and those living on the Lower MAOLand in BC will likely vote for him again.
Voters in Eastern BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan would shoot the MOFO on sight…

      1. Maybe not. After the various conversations with people that I’ve had in the past few days, they would rather have Prinz Dummkopf than someone like Trump. In other words, people have been cowed into believing that among numerous, often distasteful, alternatives, HRH is the best choice. (Barf!)

      2. You forgot the Notley Horde in Albertistan. This place is full of Green Zombie Commies, especially in der Zities. Check the voting stats. Besides the So-called Conservatives here think Nova Scotia guy is a good pick to replace Schneerly tepid. BARF.

        1. Yea but they are concentrated in BA’s territory if memory serves me correct; Redmonton no.?

Good place for em..we got enough Fking Nenshi loving Liberals here in Calgary there’s no room for communists.

          1. Down town core Calgary, Elbow Park and environs. I live deep SW. Lots of ’em down here, too.

          2. Steakman:

I live in Red Rachel’s riding, part of which is right next to that hotbed of communism, my alma mater, the University of Alberta. In last year’s provincial election, one of the candidates was a genuine commie.

Before Prinz Dummkopf was re-anointed as Dear Leader the Glorious, all I had to do was to walk a block or two to see lawn signs supporting the Dipper candidate (who’s now the MP) as well as the CBC.

  8. The totalitarian mind considers the citizens under their rule to be inferior, requiring their enlightened direction and furthermore if they had the same information as their masters, they might actually do the right thing or innovate coming up with a better outcome which threatens the role of the totalitarian. To hold power, control knowledge, always.

  9. As we saw with climate change models they are pretty much useless once real data is entered. I suspect they don’t want people to dismantle the models and to start not believing what experts and government is saying. Surprise, too late for that

    1. A data model is no different to a run-way model. She’ll strut whatever stuff she’s adorned with. The impressionable may buy it, but most won’t.

  10. And now your Liberal government lie for today. Blackie’s health minister was asked by a loyal Unifor journalist a few minutes ago, if information from China can be believed. She defended China and stated that we must all believe information from China’s World Health Organization, and that information from China can be believed. She warns us not to follow social media comments that stats from China are doctored and false. China is wonderful.

  11. We don’t need their numbers…we can simply extrapolate from the US projections.
What do you think…10 thousand to 25 thousand dead in Canada sound about right?

  12. ” depending on how Canadians are behaving.”

I have zero trust in Trudeau’s responses and reactions thus far to the pandemic. Nor the PC talking points spewed by his gender based appointees. Clearly in the end, whatever happens the blame for his negligence and inaction will be placed squarely on normal Canadians because of how they “behaved”.

    1. “I have zero trust in Trudeau’s response…”

Au contraire. I trust his response perfectly. I plan on emulating it. I’m just-in-hiding until this blows over.

Other than a foray every two weeks to buy groceries while wearing my P100 mask.

If it gets bad out there there’s still all that high carb almost inedible prepper 25 year shelf life stuff but only if that’s the only option left.

    2. whatever happens the blame for his negligence and inaction will be placed squarely on normal Canadians because of how they “behaved”

His daily cuckoo clock appearances are little more than exercises in pushing blame onto everyone else but him. No matter what happens, he will always be the paragon of virtue for he is perfect. It’s not his fault that we, the Great Unwashed, aren’t.

But at least he isn’t Trump, right?

    3. Thst oaf is also going to take credit if we do not see a huge surge, suggesting that their lock down was the right action, even though lockdown have not been proven effective.

      1. We’ll never know will we because just like the climate change scam the people doing the measuring are the ones setting the policy.

  13. Trudeau’s attempt to help may kill many small businesses

Why should we be surprised at that? During his first election campaign, Prinz Dummkopf openly said that he considered small businesses as nothing but tax cheats.

If he had his way, next year’s income tax form would consist of a single page with two lines: “How much did you make last year?” and “Send it all in.”

He and Willy Porno are little more than self-appointed latter-day robber barons.

      1. Actually, I first heard about it in some periodical, maybe some newletter, that I subscribe to.

    1. “Trudeau’s attempt to help may kill many small businesses”

It is feature not a bug. Then Blackie will offer help to businesses (at the expense of the businesses he did not manage to destroy) except that priority will go to business owned by people from marginalized communities. Just like the ventilators.

    1. To add some context around the data from John Hopkins, Bloomberg donated $1.8 billion to John Hopkins. I learned that via Martin Armstrong.

      1. Yes, questions about the integrity of the data should always be in the back of everyone’s mind.

      2. Martin Armstrong always seems to have a sanguine perspective on things.
Wish he would be on more on Mike Campbell’s “Money Talks” radio show.

    2. Search Event 201
John Hopkins open table discussion as to the effects of a world wide pandemic. Oct. 2019
Funded by the Bill and Milinda Gates foundation.
Wife went down the rabbit hole after reading the event. J/H claim it was just an exercise in theory.

  14. We are children. The federal policy is to patronize the average citizen. They are our betters, smarter and wiser. Here in the west, we are problem children who clearly require frequent correction.

Telling a citizenry that they won’t release stats because it may impact our behavior, in a world where I can find an enormous amount of that information that I’ll use to drive my own damn behavior, is just plain daft. It is reckless arrogance which drives these folks.

In 1940 you could control the message, in 2020, if you don’t manage the message, the message manages you. Trump, by speaking the language of numbers and action is doing it very well. Steakman and Sounder, you’re both right, Canadian feds can’t speak substantively (ventilators, masks, statistical realities) or truthfully (flights from all over the world even today).

They only talk emotionally and to those of us who aren’t infants, it provides no comfort, no confidence and magnifies frustration.

Good for Ford. Setting himself apart from PM Shut-In and the rest of Chrystia’s government.

    1. Do you remember how before they wouldn’t release election results in the East until the polls closed in the West?
Or how they wouldn’t let us know about the circumstances surrounding the Karla Holmolka trial?
It’s driven by exactly the same condescending attitude. We’re just little children who need to be spoon-fed tiny amounts of heavily sanitized information.
Well f*** them with a ball bat dipped in tar and broken glass!

  15. &Well, perhaps those doing the modeling for the government would be willing to share their data and methods. No? What’s this, muzzling scientists? I am disappointed in Ford, but the premieres are acting as one and he is probably not free to deviate. Independent researchers should speak out. Some have, and the conclusion is they do not have good data at this point: https://www.thecollegefix.com/stanford-epidemiologist-warns-that-coronavirus-crackdown-is-based-on-bad-data/

    1. They are being held in check with this complete Bullshit of Political Correctness….pushed down from WHO asskissers, Chinese operators, UN elites et all. Ask Gerry, he should know being the gatekeeper.

I notice not a damned peep from anyone of the 340+ MP;’s in the house Nor from any Provincial Premier or MLA’s…no questions – no comments – all staying within the CCP declared Boundaries of how a subservient country must act. Following their Script.

      DEAD SILENCE…WHY.???

      SILENCE, I Keel YOU..!!
in this case it’s likely not bullshit either.

    2. The Ontario Government is releasing its model tomorrow. Having modeled data in the past I doubt releasing the models is really that useful. When new data comes in and the models are updated they can change dramatically because the important output (total deaths) is an integration of daily deaths and this is an inherently unstable process until the peak has been reached. By then you are at maximum death so the model no longer matters. The only advantage of the model is to tell you the peak has been reached or if there is a second peak (reinfection).

Looking at the US models, the original one set total deaths at 2.8 million. The revised model now ranges between 100,000 and 240,000 deaths. There are other issues. How much testing is being done? What if someone who is dying contracts corona virus? Did they die from the latter? Why does Quebec have twice as many infections as Ontario but with a much lower population? Does running models separated by provinces even make sense?

  16. “The average person on the street doesn’t need to be concerned because there’s no transmission happening in Canada,” said Dr. Saqib Shahab, chief medical health officer with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health.

    Beautiful.

  17. They can do their fake climate models. The person who writes the program can make it do whatever the government wants. None of us will be here in a century to prove or disprove it. Those living a century from now will either be told they never made the prediction in the first place or that the bogus taxes worked.
Models for Wuhan Flu are a different matter. We’re only talking short term. Turdo knows the actual result won’t match the models. Hence, none will be forthcoming. It is easier to escape the torch and pitchfork crowd that way.

    1. Go here. A lengthy read but hell, got some time? A .Gov funded (that’s you) “report”: https://changingclimate.ca/CCCR2019/
A report that tells me the control freaks are in charge and your future in Kanaduh is pre-planned.. Convinced themselves that Kanaduh warms faster than anyone else in the Wurld and we’re all gonna die. I believe the “die” part, because these .Gov cretins will make it so. Links/recht on the railroad of life.

  18. In BC they won’t tell us where all the coofers are either. If I was to make a guess I’d say Richmond and Oakridge are probably hotspots but we will never know for sure.

    1. They only give us area information. I believe we have 67 cases on Vancouver Island. Population of the island is around 850,000.

Don’t want to cause panic among the sheep, eh? Who knows, you might not protect yourself if you find out that there are no cases in your town. And you might want to go out for a meal, but you can’t because we have to shut down the entire province to save the planet.

  19. This government can’t even pay its own employees.

So shoveling out tons of cash before the walking dead start walking should be hilarious to watch.

Our pathetic governments, run by the gender and ethnically correct, are inept, incompetent and disingenuous to as fault.

Held to account by a dishonest, co-opted, corrupt media and a pliable, ineffective, embarrassing opposition.

    Canada is truly LIBRANO country.

    1. Doug Ford was on TV today. Someone asked a question about his government helping restaurants. His answer was both sympathetic and empty. I don’t think the government (provincial or federal) has any idea of how much revenue it is losing. Having people stay in their homes for two weeks is one thing. Expanding it to six weeks is another level. Glad I don’t own a restaurant.

  20. Has any of the bought and paid media asked the question “when is this considered over?”. Is there a metric? Cases? Deaths? Hospitalizations, ICU usage? The media is as useless as the politicians. Don’t rock the subsidy boat by asking the hard questions, eh? The sheep are willing to be penned.

    1. One of pond scum in the press gallery asked Trudeau about a bailout for reporters last week. Unreal.

  21. “depending on how Canadians are behaving”

They were stupid enough to reelect an imbecile like you so… worst case scenario.

  22. I am constantly confounded by the complete ignorance of statistical modeling displayed.
First, any model has to be based on certain assumptions. Do we know yet if you can be re-infected? Do we really know the R number or are we estimating? Depending on how you answer these, your models will vary greatly. If there is someone here with definitive answers to those questions, speak up, or shut up.

I agree with Ford. If your models show that IF – and that’s a big if- people continue to maintain social distancing this thing will be over by May 1, should you tell the public? I say No, because as we have seen, idiots like the spring breakers will then immediately break quarantine and we’ll get another wave, and another lockdown. Idiots don’t understand that by breaking quarantine, they invalidate the model assumptions.

On the other hand, suppose your worst case scenario is a million dead canadians. Do you let that out, knowing that this will increase hoarding and social unrest, and if it’s really bad , complete urban warfare? And would you release that scary scenario KNOWING that it’s just one scenario based on one set of assumptions? That if even one of the many assumptions you made – no treatment exists for example- is incorrect, you might have caused a needless panic where hundreds or thousands died?

Nope, forbearance is the only step here. Ford is right.

      1. It’s a good read – that link. But let me make it even more simple. The key metric is fatality rate. It is a derivative of fatalities and is presented in deaths per day. Look at how this value changes day by day. It can be more or less constant, constantly increasing or it can suddenly double each day for a period of days. Integration of a measured derivative is extremely unstable. I would say it is impossible to provide a true estimate of fatalities due to the virus so one should not rely on these estimates. The article highlights many more problems with such estimates.

But you can be sure that if the fatalities are low the government will take credit for its work on social distancing and if the deaths are high the government will blame Canadians for not social distancing enough. Low = government, high = people.

        1. ” Integration of a measured derivative is extremely unstable.”

That is a really good point. Never thought of it that way.

Thing is, the government might be right. I mean if the people are to dumb to do the right thing then what you going to do?

        2. If the data is garbage, no amount of modelling will be of value. And the world data IS garbage. So is ours.

          1. Even if the data is perfect, it is still a near impossible problem. Take the opposite problem. Let’s say you know how many people will die (have died). You also know the exact date the infection started (patient zero). Now try and calculate the number of fatalities per day and compare it to the measured rate. There will be a significant difference. And you know the answer! No doubt the modellers will do this after it’s all over. They will emerge with even better models. And next time when a pandemic occurs and there is no need for face masks or ventilators (but we’re missing this and that no longer even made in China) the politicians will assure us they have everything under control.

  23. Bought supplies for my company cafeteria today. The employee at the food service company who handed me my pre-paid phone order through the back door did not have a mask or gloves on. C.A.N.A.D.ians are so freaking dumb, it is not even funny. But every chinese truck driver that I saw on my way there and back had a mask on. This is going to be real ugly up here, assuming that COVID is real.

  24. Worried drooling journalists were concerned about Blackie today at his press conference. He was asked about his scratchy sounding throat. Great Leader assured everyone that he is fine, and thanks for asking. Rumour has it that Rosmary Barton was in tears that he might be sick.

  25. I liked it better in the old days when Canada’s Official Idiot was Red Green.

At least he had the honesty and humility to admit his problem: the unwillingness to say “I don’t know”.

  26. I have more contempt for the government(s) than I have for UnMe the Fisting Wonder.
    Nothing they say is true.
But they also don’t know whether they’re taking a dump or eating a sandwich when it comes to data models.
Just wait till their economic models show them the looming precipice and then reality hits.

  27. If they are using the same models or system that they use for Climate Change I’m calling their models utter garbage. I am not willing to be held hostage in my home for months just because various levels of government can’t do their jobs via testing people for the virus. If they did their jobs we wouldn’t have to cower in our homes because we lack valid testing kits. I hear the media constantly praising Justine while slurring Trump, Trump shut down access from China two months ago but Justine’s government allows flights from China daily.

  28. Here’s my prediction and it’s not based on a model.

Governments will start to pull back from the brink about 2-3 weeks from now, as the data indicate that the death toll is no worse than the average of past winter flu episodes and largely confined to predictable groups and places.

They will restructure the social distancing to more stringent access and precautions around those hot spots, and things will gradually return to normal in May. The new normal will sadly include the demise of some fragile businesses that couldn’t make it through the April shutdown.

Unless our government is actually in active collaboration with China, which I wouldn’t entirely rule out, then sanity has to prevail at some point. We can’t afford to pay all this money out just to avoid a few additional deaths to what’s going to happen anyway. And surely a political pushback would begin at some point, even the wishy-washy conservative party must be assessing the balance between public health and economic survival.

There has to be a balance in these things. The logical end point of social distancing is the elimination of all harm and risk from life, and that is neither possible, nor within the mandate of elected governments. That is something maybe God could accomplish, but not our governments.

So I think the situation at present is about the middle of the worst period and it probably won’t persist too long into the late spring and summer. That’s not to say COVID-19 is nothing or will go away. I don’t believe either of those propositions. But at the same time, it’s not the killer pandemic that will make the Black Death look like a day trip either. Some balance needs to be restored before all the professional scolds in our elites get a full wind of power in their sails and decide to morph this into the “necessary steps for your own good” re their imaginary climate emergency.

    1. Peter, I think your analysis is spot on.
We cannot survive, as a nation, under these circumstances and we will reach the point of “OK, so if more Boomers die than what normally die, so be it, baby needs food”.
The Propaganda Channel (the CBC) will start changing its narrative (as it will be told to do) and start leading the indoctrination of how we have turned the corner blah blah blah.
Full disclosure: I am of the “OK Boomers, it’s your turn to go” camp. They had their 80 year run. My teenage kids need to build a life of their own.

    2. “But at the same time, it’s not the killer pandemic that will make the Black Death look like a day trip either.”

The Black Death lasted more than 300 years. Some estimate the Spanish Flu, which started in China, killed 100 million in 2 years.

    3. “as the data indicate that the death toll is no worse than the average of past winter flu”

This isn’t what the data indicate. This is wishcasting on your part.
