The Libranos: YOU get a yacht! and YOU get a yacht!

To help secure a seat, Canada be expected to give ‘several hundred million’ to the African Union

The COVID-19 pandemic ended the secret handshakes and deal-making in the world’s power corridors, but Canada’s campaign for a temporary seat on the United Nations Security Council is full steam ahead.

Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne and International Development Minister Karina Gould confirmed the continuing campaigning in separate interviews with The Canadian Press this past week. […]

Champagne and Gould say that Canada’s international stature has grown because of its response to the COVID-19 outbreak, which so far includes a $50-million foreign aid package, but some ex-diplomats say Canada needs to spend more in that area to win votes.

Related: YOU get a cottage! (Not you, commoner).

Update: Now is not the time for math.

  1. Ezra has just reported that Trudeau has quietly reversed himself on border controls. If you are a non-Canadian and present symptoms at the border you are still to be rejected. If, however, you present symptoms and claim to be a “refugee”, you are allowed into Canada for full medical care. Meanwhile, in Ontario, seniors at a residence north of Toronto are dying at an unprecedented rate (link below), and there are not enough medical staff and supplies to care for those still alive. This is how Trudeau’s post-national state works: old white Canadians are left to die in agony and isolation while “refugees” are welcomed at the border with immediate medical help.

    1. In Italy if you’re over 65 and need a respirator say arrivederci.
Don’t think that type of triage won’t/isn’t happening here.

      1. Buddy: I would say that triage is already happening at this seniors’ residence. Unlikely that any of the residents who contract Covid-19 will be moved to a hospital to be put on a respirator.

        1. 100% true. Dr. at Pinecrest addressed the next of kin at the start of the outbreak to advise them that a trip to the hospital to be put on a ventilator was not recommended for frail seniors as it would most likely not work and would be an agony for them. I am from Bobcaygeon. It’s a shame of all shames that the people who were the builders of Canada through the last century get nothing in their time of need. So these folks don’t even die in the presence of a doctor. The two town doctors cannot enter the nursing home as they would then be unable to care for the general community.

    2. No other Pinecrest residents were tested after the first three because of a provincial policy – usually applied in flu outbreaks – that says once the virus at the root of an outbreak has been identified, everyone who is symptomatic is presumed to be infected with it.

They’re going to inflate the numbers any way they can.

  2. Hmmm. Tax Time is coming. What’s that refrain….taxes….food….rent? Sibble Serpents and poli wollies LAST. Like that Sekurity Kouncil Theat is comin’ your way? Sucker born every minute.

  3. I don’t think Trudeau is after a Canadian seat on the Security Council.

I think he is after the Sec Gen job so he can be ruler of the world. Gerry’s already convinced him he can do it.

    1. He grew the beard to play the part of a more serious actor. He knew this shit was coming to Chinada a long time ago, probably before Christmas. He loves standing behind that stupid podium. He believes his destiny is greatness.
Has anyone read the Dead Zone by Stephen King?

      1. Great Book…one of my Favs..!!
Almost an equal to the STAND. Which is earily prescient….?

    2. “…I think he is after the Sec Gen job so he can be ruler of the world. ”

True. And it’s time a ball-less tranny got that chair.

  4. The only good thing about being on this useless seat would be that the world would know at long last that Canada is under a communist sympathizing government as we would join other tin pot dictators to consistently vote against Israel, the USA and the West in general.

Not that most Canadians would care.

  5. “…this is not the time to head for a cottage, cabin or camp.”

True. That should have been done a month or two ago.

    1. Lately I’ve been going to the cottage every weekend. I always take guns and toilet paper with me. Sometimes I even take my wife.

    2. Of course Sophie and his kids are….
… at the Prime Minister’s cottage at Harrington Lake.

  6. Canada has far more important things to do with its wealth. Like national defence and NORAD – to hell with NATO.
    Liberals are Traitors.

  7. Now we know why Justin imposed that handy-dandy “carbon” tax and why he needs to increase it by 50% on April 1.

He doesn’t give a rat’s behind about the “environment”.

  8. “Up at the cottage” or “friday” for the people that don’t “work” for the gubmint.

  9. Tune into the Typhoid Blackie Game Show! Watch the host Rosemary Barton as she demonstrates porn while waiting for Justy The Clown. Watch how Blackie finds new ways to get racist Canadian bastards to wash their hands. And take part as he gives money to you, and you, and third world dictators in shithole countries. And remember, China is wonderful!

  10. Why? What possible reason or justification is there for Canada’s Liberal gov’t to give away hundreds of million of our tax payer money to get this ridiculous temporary seat. We dodged a bullet when the CPC got Trudeau to back down on his desire for unrestricted control of our national funds for his personal use and piggy bank.
This idiot as his father did will destroy Canada and the Corona virus is the perfect vehicle to do it.

  11. The wage subsidy will cost as much as it takes to “re-distribute” the pensions of (surviving) elderly Canadians who worked hard and paid their taxes into the pockets of “non-essentials” whose jobs are unlikely to return when this is over—journalists among them.

What will Canadian pensioners get? As much fentanyl as it takes to keep them quiet while they drown in their own mucus.

Justin is every golddigging son and daughter-in-law who murdered papa to get their payday early—a payday they’d already squandered several times over.

More than one Globe hack is looking forward to getting her parents’ Annex pile decades early. The wage subsidy is a small advance, as it were.

  12. Aid workers in central Africa years ago told me that much of the money that western governments ‘donate’ to regimes for projects in the area would be diverted into Swiss bank accounts and spent on French villas. I witnessed first hand, in broad daylight, local officials threatening and demanding graft from foreigners, with armed police acting like common thugs. Of course, it’s done to locals too if they’re seen to have money. It is widely accepted, even in moderate African ‘democracies’, that such corruption reaches all levels of government and every institution.

It is disgusting that our taxes and resources are being spent there in full knowledge of such corruption. Every crisis, and this one is no different, is used as a call for cash. “Peace keeping”, “foreign aid”. Rubbish. What happened to “fighting climate change”? But, as we’ve seen with SNC Lavalin, our own justice system will be directed to avert their eyes, and every excuse, every rationale will be used as a cloak by a compliant media.

“The COVID-19 pandemic ended the secret handshakes and deal-making …”. A few sentences later, “some ex-diplomats say Canada needs to spend more in that area to win votes”. Even later, “If you want me to vote, where’s my help?”. What that means, but the writer won’t say, is “where’s my cash?”. Pure rubbish.

Ending “secret handshakes”? With publications like the NP pushing such nonsense, it won’t be anytime soon.

  13. further …

“They say Canada’s voice on the world’s most powerful decision-making body is needed more than ever”

Why? Nothing in this article says anything about what specifically Canada has – other than money – to contribute on the world stage. Rather, the SNC Lavalin debacle, and the pass it received in the subsequent election, demonstrated to the world that corruption at the very highest levels is just business as usual, and that’s music to the ears of Africa’s leaders. Trudeau is letting them know that Canada is their ATM. Who knows what Trudeau hopes to achieve with a UNSC seat. Maybe the National Post could find out and let us know.

    1. Canada has 2 things that are needed. #1 money (if not borrowed) and #2 a moronic voting population that is oblivious to the fact that the Liberals are literally giving away their future.

  14. “Prudent fiscal decisions in past years allows us to spend now.”

Those would be the decisions of the former Martin and Harper governments. Certainly not his, he hasn’t made a single prudent fiscal decision since he’s been in office.

      1. And what a deficit this is going to be. $100B plus. EASY. Plus all the provincial deficits exploding.

Canadians are going to get a hard, hard lesson about keeping public finances in order during the good times. Governments will simply have no choice but to slash & burn to wrestle the debt under control, once we get to the other side of this and get a functioning economy going again.

Well. One would hope. I suppose I shouldn’t underestimate the stupidity of voters, or the vote-buying tendencies of politicians. If the pain can be kicked down the road, it will be. But pain there certainly will be. Just a matter of when.

        1. $112-billion, according to the parliamentary budget officer. NOT INCLUDING the $28-billion deficit Justin put us in during the “good times” of March 1-2019 to Feb. 29-2020. Also NOT INCLUDING any of the Liberal promises from the 2019 election. Also NOT INCLUDING today’s 75% wage-subsidy program.

I’d guess it’s going to tally up to about $275-billion.

  15. Program spending has long ago used up taxpayer’s money. Everything the Spawn promises is money from unborn taxpayers and will cost multiple times more after debt servicing. The Spawn is a looter of the highest order. What used to be acceptable as a cure for free lance looters is unfortunately no longer acceptable (they used to be shot). We are witnessing the Trudeau dynasty’s incineration of Canada’s future prosperity. His father’s looting took several generations to neutralize but the Spawn has more than made up for it.

  16. JustUN really, really cares about Canadians.

JustUN really, really lives open borders and the UN.

How long until the UN flag is flying over Ottawa, and Toronto is renamed Diverse-City?

    1. Ottawa will be renamed Panem. Alberta will be renamed District 12. May the odds be forever in your favour. (“Hunger Games” reference for those who don’t know)

  17. I wonder if Gould and Champagne got together for a coffee (sitting at separate tables of course), after their sessions with reporters and laughed their a$$es off about the fantasies they had just spun and that the reporters have duly gushed to the rest of us as fact. The importance of Canada in the world.

    Only as the world’s ATM.

  18. This morning Justin tells Canadian businesses to not game the system (remember they are all tax cheats according to Morneau). He did not instruct the liberals to keep their hands out of the cookie jar a la adscam. Interesting.

  19. Every utility bill you get which shows the carbon tax as a separate item, you should deduct that amount from what you pay. Tell Trudeau to shove his idiotic tax up his ass. The provinces should nut up and tell Trudeau to shove it as well.

  20. Funny title…when I was a kid growing up in Windsor, ON in the 70’s it seemed like every house whose dad worked for the factories had a boat–this was at a time when it was mosty husbands who worked and wives kept house…then globalization hit–starting with NAFTA. I remember the “experts” repeatedly saying “when Mexicans start getting better paying jobs the crime rate will go down and they’ll stop smuggling themselves and drugs into the US and Canada”…I was in my late teens at the time and I believed the “experts”. Now I’m in my mid-50s and all I know for sure is that “experts” can’t discern between their a$$ and a hole in the ground.

      1. Amen, buddy. At the very least all the politicians who were in power at that time should have their pensions cut-off as well as all the bureaucrats who wrote policy for Canada.

  21. The USA has a General George Patton to fight this epidemic: we have Goofy. Remove him.

  22. I think the bong is after the Sec Generals job as JM mentioned above.

That’s where you can be most influential and bongo is convinced he’s ‘the man’ (lower case) because buttz told him he is. buttz would like the job hizself but he knows he could never get it and having the bong as his surrogate is his plan B. Together they can change the world….

Let’s hope he fails in his attempt and that he is defeated in the next election. The economy goes south and there are a lot of deaths – all bets are off.

    1. Trudeau would certainly excel at the Sec. Gen job – he is a master at giving away other people’s money.

  23. The easiest way to stop the Turd is to dissolve parliament with a no confidence vote. Oh wait wasn’t there a chance for that a little while ago?

    bverwey

  24. Kharma would be if after all the graft was placed on all the right hands that the temp seat went to another country and then Stephen Harper got appointed to a high level body that has influence.

Yeah I know I’m dreaming, but it would likely cause the sock monkey and his minions to lose it publicly captured on video for posterity.

  25. Seems to me the “Burning Log” of TV fame is more informative than our fearless “leader”.
Guillotine Time approaches faster every moment the idiot speaks.

I trusted the experts and believed that if we only opened up the West to the former Communist regimes in Russia and China, that they would evolve into freer and more open societies more like ours. I was WRONG. They were wrong.

Russia has devolved into a corrupt autocracy with none of the God given authority or the romance of Romanov dynasty. Vladimir the First is a vain, vicious, and avaricious tyrant. His KGB trainers must be proud of him. He is a modern day Ivan the Terrible crossed with Pablo Escobar, Putin thinks he is the Sword and Shield of Russia. He is the leader of a demographically doomed second rate nuclear power in a drunken third world country that still dreams of a powerful Russia that pulls the strings of puppets across the globe.
