  2. Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante has had enough of Justin’s dithering. Starting Tuesday, city employees will be dispatched to Dorval airport to inform travellers from abroad about the coronavirus, urge them to self-isolate for two weeks and give advice on what to do if they fall ill. They can’t actually deny entry to or detain Chinese or Muslim arrivals, so this will have to do.

    Meanwhile, Quebec premier François Legault is demanding Ottawa close the border to foreigners. Needless to say, if nothing is done soon, the virus will kill elderly French Quebecers (mostly supporters of Legault and his Coalition avenir Québec party) in the tens of thousands, but will spare younger, non-francophone (and non-white) supporters of the Quebec Liberal party, now in opposition, and of the extreme-left Québec solidaire.

    When and IF this is ever done in Canada, the only reasonable take on this policy will be wide-spread condemnation of the lack of leadership and fortitude on the part of Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party to act sooner. The LPC will NEVER recover from this.
    Screwing up economically/being corrupt is one thing, being judged responsible for the DEATH of someone’s loved family member is a different magnitude of blame altogether.

    Older and unhealthy Canadians won’t burden our government health care system much longer.

    The Liberal party plans to use those savings to buy more refugee voters from the 3rd world, who will bring their own diseases, but they’ll vote Liberal.

    Liberal voters don’t mind being poorer, sicker, and gambling with their families including their retirement as long as they have a pretty clown who speaks in platitudes.

    But Liberal voters shouldn’t be too attached to the idea of Canada, our federal government’s work against the Canadian people during this disease outbreak could backfire at the ballot box.

      This will, no doubt, lead to a non-confidence vote in the House, assuming Parliament ever sits again. The question remains as to which party puts forth the motion. Once the government falls, and Parliament is dissolved, the Liberals might get tossed out on their ears but which party will succeed it?

        The Bloc is not about to throw a Frog out of power to be replaced by an Anglo and at the same time have at least half their members lose their pensions. Trudeau has a steady 4 year minority term – five years if he wants it.

        2. Most of Trudeau’s MPs were rookies in the 2015 election and they don’t get their gold-plated pensions unless they serve a full six years. The NDP is broke. The Bloc has the Liberals over a barrel. There will be no election until 2021 at the earliest.

      If this trend where the provinces pick up the slack left by a level of government that is currently too concerned about burning up political capital than doing its duty, eventually we reach a critical mass of the population that figures out we don’t need them anymore.

      I pointed out in previous posts that until it stops the subway, the ability to get the daily fix from Starbucks, or the NHL stops playing nothing will change.
      The world view inside the liberal bubble is crumbling before their eyes and now they are looking around for something that makes sense.
      The old go to of an “ist” or “ism” isn’t working this time.
      Their heros that could get away with beating that drum are now faced with the reality that they have to do things that they described as part of the secret agenda of the right.
      They demanded open borders and deemed any opposed as racist.
      They used terms like irregular border crossers, and with the help of their media labelled those that called it illegal, xenophobic.
      Now they are faced with the reality that they need to do the things they denounced others for suggesting.
      It’s causing them to go into a state of paralysis as it’s the guy in charge that has to give the go ahead to make it happen.
      Where is he?
      He went into “self-isolation”.
      What’s he doing?
      He’s on the phone with a lot of “people”.
      Heck he even had his photographer take a pic of him on the phone.
      Although it begs the question, if he’s in isolation how did his photographer get in the house to take the picture?
      But I digress.
      My point isn’t that the liberals are rudderless, knew that back when they acclaimed the sock monkey leader. The point is that they are more concerned about what they have to do now instead of the welfare of Canadians.

    I can’t imagine him taking orders from Soros to sow chaos in Canada, it’s just not him.
    Let me tune into CBC to see if I can confirm this, they always have a handle on what this government is doing to help Canadians.
