        having been crapped all over by the powers that be, in economic, career, social, political, etc issues up the wazzoo, the experience beat any sympathy I have for the grande masse of society.
        example: I could have written the book on factory automation, having a degree in computer science and a knack for quick learning as an electrician’s assistant.
        note ‘assistant’. I could never get around that exclusionary thing about getting an apprenticeshit.
        why not set up a system where the likes of me put in a year or 2, THEN get presented with some sort of exam, pass that, do a big range of electrical work which is evaluated, THEN you’re added to a LIST of candidates for apprenticeshit?
        but no, ya gatta have ‘connections’.

      3. Been to Greenland. It’s nice in the summer, all two months of it. All day sun too, can work on your tan in a sheltered place while watching the bergs float by. Fresh air a galore, Lots to eat, fish, seal, whale. Whale is like dark beef. They speak Anglo, too. No French.
