      1. Hey, I feel like that dog when Shiny goes on the Camera to reassure me that he’s got the latest disaster under control.

    1. One thing for sure “conservatives” should NOT do is to refer to themselves as “conservatives”.
Doctrinally, the #CPC has shifted to the center to pander to more voters (indicative of 0 principles BTW) and abandoned most of their “right of center” platform.
If you want real conservative principles, then vote #PPC. Do not vote for #LibCons poseurs masquerading as “conservatives”.

    1. Burn that Pearson rag ! But, but, but don’t red maple leaves grow everywhere in Canada ?
This is the emblem of ‘New’ Canada. A place where there isn’t a past to make immigrants feel uncomfortable. A place where ‘Diversity’ is more important than attachment to the land. A place where Government handouts are thought to be proof of Citizenship. A place where Liberal are ‘the Natural Ruling Party’.

    1. History is not so much a linear series of events, I tend toward the concept of history as events that occur when all the right conditions coincide. In this case I would be less inclined to see the US absorb Canada piece by piece, they would go to the most economical and political expedient path. They don’t want to pay more than market, more like fire sale price, and the politicians would be calculating which side of the house of Congress would benefit more from adding one or two new states.
Because adding a new state would require an act of Congress and there would be spending earmarks this would have to be initiated through Congress. Now you have to consider the make up of Congress and what’s going to get them to favour doing this, will it get delayed by the Senate, and would the President of the day be ready to sign off on it.
For example, if the likelihood of having Alberta become the next state tip the balance of power in both houses to the GOP the tendency of a democrat controlled house would be to delay the bill until they had the number of seats to make sure they retain control.
That’s just one example. But I concur, the current path that Canada is on favours eventual dissolution of confederation.

      1. Honest to dog. The can of worms below the 49th is big enough without taking on Canada. Find another solution.

  1. Looks like Covid19 is starting to show the trend of what kind of virus.

Its not killing across age groups. Its rate is not worse than SARS.

Children appear, unaffected by it. Those most susceptible to fatality are……………those over 60, with existing underlying health issues. Hmm, just like the normal flu that kills approx 30,000 in the US every year.

Looks like another media generated overhype story. Be scared, very scared, all the time, cuz media says so!

    1. Still, the rapid spread, plus the fact that there doesn’t appear to be any vaccine available just yet, is cause for concern. Also worrying is what might happen if it happens to mutate and what characteristics that mutation might have.

    2. Actually if you were paying any attention to the media they consistently were saying “nothing to see here, move along”.

In any case, I am sure that when you’re armed with the power of positive thinking, you have nothing to worry about.

    3. Coincidentally, the location/number of the day is Indonesia. They have just discovered their first two cases. Are they going to reach triple digits within a week? Place your bets. Will they try to hide it like most in the region, or will they tell the truth?

      1. Multiple independent sources corroborate.

So yes, if you’re 60+, isolate yourself from human contact. If you have those dreaded underlying health conditions at any age, the same advice applies.

If you’re a healthy young or middle aged person, it’s a flu that you will get thru, but, isolate to prevent spread.

Being paranoid about this doesn’t help, sorry, it’s not the end of the world. By the way, the WHO is a joke, those are politicians, barely doctors.

Again, others much more knowledgeable in health affairs are reminding us all that 30,000 due each year in the US from the flu. Where are THOSE dire headlines?

        Stay safe colonista.

    4. Hopefully you are correct.
Most info has come from the Chicoms who were not forthcoming about SARS.
The Chicoms reaction to the virus is certainly not the same as the flu. Massive quarantines and industrial shutdowns.
This virus is an addition to other pathogens, not an alternative. That’s swell.
The numbers (that we know of) of Chinese recovered is very far from complete. If you don’t recover quickly…
SARS, MERS, now Kung Flu. Is this a pattern that will become more prevalent?
Yeah, don’t trust the MSN, or the government.

      1. Was that a reaction to the virus? Or was the virus a convenient excuse? Because those Hong Kong protests were sure inconvenient for the Communist party.

        1. Those Chicoms can be inscrutable.

I heard Evan Solomon talking with a Canadian MD contagion/expert on the radio a short while ago. The death rate is +2% and it is a highly contagious virus. 2% of lets say a 50% infection rate of 38 million is 380,000 dead Canadians. That’s a sizeable amount.
Might be a good time to buy stock in funeral providers.

    5. I hope this pattern holds. Of course the media over hyped this story. It’s the perfect crisis to go after Trump (again) and to go after Ford in Ontario

    6. Well, not if you ARE over 60 and have health (including resiratory) problems. Was recently diagnosed with COPD. Still trying to get on the right inhalers, fight shortness of breath, fatigue, etc. (Always a non -smoker, BTW.) That virus would kill me in no time, we’re I exposed to it.

  2. He’s baaaaack!

    https://www.westernstandardonline.com/2020/02/kinsella-to-start-alberta-war-room-in-ontario/

Apparently, the job of being a mercenary is easy cause you can pick any side where you think there is a dollar to be made.

BTW Kate, did you know that Chuck Guite ( just released from jail) was HANDPICKED by Warren to run the infamous Liberal advertising program which turned out to be ADSCAM?
Of course Warren was only working in Chretien’s office for the the fun of it and he dinna know nuttin’ about the $250 million that was spent or where it went. LOL.

    1. Although Warren was a die hard Liberal at one point, I don’t believe he is any more. If his business is political strategy, you need to attract business and I don’t think Liberals are chasing after Warren these days. He has been behind some nasty Liberal gossip. If he has good skills there is no reason for conservative interests not to use him. Being a pro-Alberta lobbyist in Ontario is a descent enterprise, and somewhat needed while Alberta is still in. I did not know he is originally from Alberta.

      1. I would agree that having a pro Alberta lobby group in Ontario would be beneficial.
The problem is the way fart catchers like kinsella and his fellow traveller’s define pro Alberta. They want Alberta to remain a source of taxes to fund spending in central and eastern Canada. That was why he deployed to Alberta many moons ago after the fall out of the NEP. His mission was to dig up some dirt on conservatives to keep the east from becoming sympathetic to their plight. Right around that time he started his crusade against white supremicists that curiously only seemed to happen among western conservatives.
I don’t trust him and like all liberals he has a tendency to deflect criticism by attributing his critics of his own worst sins.
Recall as well that during the election he was an avid critic of the sock monkey and then suddenly after the election he advocated that folks shouldn’t be so critical of Trudeau.
        FYI
        He’s still working with Warman.

The lesson is, you can keep track of what your enemies are saying, just don’t take their advice.
        Or put another way.
Pleasing your enemies won’t make them your ally.

    2. Kinsella makes a living off of being a fart catcher.
His history is working for and providing advice that advances the liberal world view.
He does not, repeat, does not give his advice without receiving compensation either monitary or in kind.
He will enthusiastically be the front man for the laurentian elite.
Here’s my read on the “war room”.
Nothing about this is to turn minds to do what should be done, this is another dirt digging exercise to undermine Alberta and stifle any criticism of the status quo by way of guilt by association.
The powers that be are losing the argument and now they are going to deploy the sooth sayers to keep public opinion in line.

    1. Interesting analysis, I am skeptical about O’Toole, I don’t think I can count on his genuine convictions, but possibly I can count on his understanding that he needs to present a meaningful alternative to Libranos.

    2. This guy isn’t in touch with reality. The party IS to the left of the mushy middle, Scheer took it there and MacKay will keep it there.

    3. I will vote for whichever candidate is willing to admit that man made climate change is fake. That probably is not either CPC candidate. A lot of Conservatives have tuned out. Canada deserves Trudeau. (though Alberta does not, so hopefully their ultimate solution is gaining steam).

      1. – Sad story on that. Went to our riding meeting; three candidates presented. The first said exactly that in as many words, and had some pretty clear-cut opinions about how worthless gun control is. He was my first pick.

The second had worn-out the shoe leather, the only candidate of the three who actually came and talked to us – had a guy precede her on stage to drumroll “Our, Candidate!”, and droned on and on about the effort she’d put-in (which I assumed was because the other candidates had jobs to go to). Never a word about her plans, beliefs, desires or what she hoped to achieve if she got in. She was my second choice, only because…

Third candidate had the shiny shoes and the silk tie, and whipped-up a storm over “Nobody can DENY the seriousness of global warming!” and “We need more government money down here NOW, building more wind turbines!” There was a third slot on the ballot, but I didn’t even write his name in.

Guess who won? And subsequently got elected? I really wonder his name hasn’t shown-up as a potential leadership candidate, but I suppose it’s early days yet… *SMH

  3. The diverse Toronto media is excited that a large crowd showed up to protest at the mining convention in that diverse city. All resource development must stop. Save the sacred tree frog!

  4. Global News journalist David Akin reported on twitter, that former prime minister Joe Clark has been appointed by Blackie to get that UN security seat. He will be burning jet fuel at taxpayer expense all over Africa throwing money around and making promises.

    1. How did that trip to Ethiopia turn out for the arrestede Canadians? Probably not well. Trudeau visits, a group of Canadians are arrested.

      1. Me thinks they were arrested because the Ethiopian leaders found out Trudeau was back sliding on his aid promises. They’ve discovered Trudeau lies… a lot.

    2. Chinless Joe. Just another CINO, indistinguishable from any other Ottawa swamp dweller.

Remember: their snouts are in the trough so yours can’t be.

    1. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/teck-frontier-cancellation-should-be-wake-up-call-for-canada-freeland/ar-BB10AYQ4?ocid=spartanntp
      Chrithtia:
“I think we need to treat Teck’s withdrawal as a wake up-call for our country and say, now is the time to do that hard work and actually face up to the fact that it’s a challenge — it’s a real challenge — to reconcile ambitious action on climate change and a strong economy and a strong oil and gas sector,” she said.

Didn’t these assholes get into power 5 f**king years ago telling us that they were going to balance the economy and the environment? WTF have they been doing for 5 years?
Failing. Miserable failures every single lying grown in pig shit one of them. All they’ve done is strengthened an consolidated their power over the stupid portion of the electorate while guaranteeing themselves nice fat pensions and a pantload of private sector perks once they leave office.

      1. Oh, it wasn’t so much a wake-up call, but a warning: “Alberta, we can do with you what we like when we like. We can close off your rail access. We can kill your investments and your industry. In short, we’ve got you by the you-know-whats and we’re going to keep it that way. Get ready for more pain…. and keep sending those equalization payments, or else.”

Now can anyone tell me that this doesn’t amount to a civil war being waged by Ottawa against us?

    1. The black brothers sent mare pete a message. “We don’t support homosexuality.”

  5. Take a look at this Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2020/03/01/coronavirus-could-be-the-end-of-china-as-global-manufacturing-hub/#4e5341dc5298

Look especially at the photo of the young Mexican building Bombardier internal combustion engines. The lad is even wearing a nice Liberal red shirt with a Bombardier logo.

The Liberals hate Alberta enough to subsidize Mexico in building a product requiring an Alberta product which they will not allow to be pipelined to market.

  6. Ottawa creates the conditions for Wexist, then hates the fact that Westerners want to leave. It then creates a war room against Wexit. They act like we should be grateful that they’re doing something for Westerners. That’s mighty big of them. Saul Alinsky would be proud.
    On Wexit…

    1. War rooms are a product of political campaigning.
Their task is to influence, not inform to build political support for their employers.
The operatives of a war room are much like mercenaries, they get paid to do it.
So ask the question, who is paying for this political campaign, and what political objective would be a suitable fit for someone with a history of supporting liberals?
Once you think you have an answer then compare that objective to what the biggest beef the west has now and see if they are compatible or are in opposition.
      Heres my theory.
Someone is getting paid through some government unity fund, under the guise of western outreach, to dig up dirt on WEXIT supporters. Even if they have to manufacture it.

Pleasing your enemies will not make them your friends.

  7. Excellent summation of known facts. Any so called international body is so infected with leftists they are not to be trusted. Time to shit can the UN, IMF, and the WHO.

  8. Remember, folks, this is the same Mr. Tough Guy who promised that he’d “stare down” Vlady Putin in a show-down.

Perhaps Prinz Dummkopf is too kind of a title. King Richard the Flaccid would, in this instance, be more appropriate.

That distant laughter you’re hearing? I understand it’s coming from somewhere inside the Kremlin.

  9. Here is a story you won’t see in the Toronto Star, and Blackie’s media will cover up pretty quick. A young man has been arrested in B.C. for burning down a CN rail building. Nothing to do with Indians or environmentalists of course.

  10. it just occurred to me reading another post, with the goings on in the DNC, the president has
drawn certain conclusions as to who he expects to run against and is . . . . .
getting the ducks in a row.

    yeeeeeeeeeeHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!

  11. Is Bill Gates a medical person? I find it strange that he is a spokes person regarding the virus at all. For me, his involvement just signals that this is a manufactured virus.

  12. Blackie The Gay Pirate burned jet fuel at taxpayer expense to Toronto today, to lecture the mining conference on global warming.

    1. As often happens in such situations, the market might have been oversold.
