  1. Just watched his speech. He was given the old Sionara – he had wandered off the reservation with his comments about Bernie Sanders and was now no longer considered reliable.

  2. Live by the tingle, die by the tingle.

So completely unfair and yet so richly deserved.

      1. When they introduced the new rules to cancel dissidents, they never expected those same rules will be used against them.
There is always someone woker than you and they will always be righteously offended at your luck of sufficient wokeness.
Reminds me of communist party purges. They never learn.

        1. Yep, it’s like they love reading about the French Revolution, but they never read to the end to see who else rides in the tumbrels

  3. Very suspicious at the timing.
What does it mean that it is connected to a #metoo expose, which involves this lady?
    Laura Bassett

    @LEBassett
In 2017, I wrote about a cable news host being gross and inappropriate with me. I was afraid to name him at the time. I’m not anymore; it was Chris Matthews! And his sexist exchange with Warren this week inspired me to revisit those moments and name him https://www.gq.com/story/chris-matthews-experience

      1. My problem is I take far too many of the #metoo with a grain of salt and I’ve no idea what happened between Chris and Bassett, but he’s being forced to give up something he obviously loved that was financially rewarding because of exactly what?
Knowing the few men I could have reported back in the 40s (a couple of whom I’d still like to kill to this day), my standard for ruining someone’s life is high.
I first heard Chris Matthews back in the 80s on the PBS McLaughlin Group and listened to it regularly.

  4. I don’t mean to defend the guy, but when Hardball first came out it was pretty good. He used to have Christopher Hitchens on alot who was always entertaining. And he did have some astute observations at times and was a pretty good student of history. Still, it was time for him to go. RIP.

    1. Yes, I remember, they were talking about Clinton.
Hitchens did not have much respect for Clinton, said that the guy does not have any friends, was a loner and a kind of low life. Heh, as it turned out he was not out of line thinking that,
Matthews seemed to be critical of Clinton along with Hitchens, at the end of the segment though he admitted that he liked Clinton anyway.

  5. Too bad so sad. The insufferable capital P prick is off the air and my TV remote had no part to play in it.

  6. I already boycott MSNBC and Matthews as hard as I can. That he’s finally been fired is mildly gratifying.

Now if we could just hurry up and put the rest of them out of business, that would be great.

    1. ^^^^ This comment could be found sexist or ableist or fat shaming or discriminatory of land whales or something that offends leftists.
Report yourself to a re-education facility citizen.

  7. Chris made the mistake of calling out the Communists.
You don’t mention little details like their propensity to execute people that disagree with them. “I would be executed in Central Park.”

It only took them a week, but the Bernie supporting Communist fellow travelers found a way to take him down after twenty years.

  8. I agree with those above who think that Chris Matthews was a severely biased TV journalist who frequently had too much respect for the truth to profane it with his presence. I am, however, upset that he has retired, because I think he was pressured into retiring for saying things that offended some people. Furthermore, I am upset that a voice for positions with which I don’t agree has been removed from the airwaves. I want all points of view to be available to viewers, listeners, and readers, and Chris Matthews’s freedom to speak his mind is inseparable from my own freedom to do so.

    1. “I want all points of view to be available to viewers, listeners, and readers, and Chris Matthews’s freedom to speak his mind is inseparable from my own freedom to do so.”

You do realize that your freedom of speech position makes you a Nazi, right? The problem we face with Cancel Culture is that only ONE view will be spoken, all others will be suppressed because they are racist, bigoted and homophobic.

Matthews was one of the loudest voices leading the charge for this unfree culture, and I am mildly gratified the crocodile finally ate him.

I’d be happier if MSNBC was off the air completely due to bankruptcy.

  9. My donkey hee, my donkey haw, my donkey lie like a bed of straw!
Tingle-leg-o, run my little donkey, run!

  10. And the usual political hypocrisy in the twitter replies. Leftists are leaving replies like this one. “I agree that political correctness has gone too far. As a woman, I have been party to men’s comments that were inappropriate. However, I’m a big girl and know how to handle such situations. Chris, you will be missed.”

Of course if Matthews was a “right winger” the reply would be quite different.

This is one of the main things in politics that make me rage. Inconsistency.

    1. Even FOX had to sack boozy old perverts Bill O’Reilly and Roger Ailes, and later their enabler Bill Shine.
Left or right, when the people who pay your salary have had enough of you, poof. You’re done and gone.
